I love that you listen so carefully to the words... I've watched others miss things and want to say stop, wait, go back, you missed the best line. Ren manages to tell us how wrong the game is without preaching. He just puts it out there for you to decide for yourself how or if it applies to you. Also, if you listen the violins are playing the money game chorus - it's brilliant.

Ahhh the old adage of the money game..."if you're not winning, you're losing". The part about moving exports (coke)... he said "makes a move for his daddy's approval"... its always been about chasing his toxic daddy's approval... and then when daddy dies, theres no longer any hope of gaining that approval, so thus the spiral out of control. Daddy shot Jimmy in the head at 5, 13, 18, 26, and 30. Jimmy was doomed by daddy and the money game long before Jimmy picked up the gun.

Building utopias doesn’t mean losing individuality. He's saying what if we put the money and efforts of war, instead to physical, mental health and a healthy work/life balance. Homes for everyone. Its all doable. Its what we could have now. But being sick makes more billionaires etc. We accept the bs like sheep. He's trying to get us thinking about what we do and just accept as part of life. Utopia isnt paradise. It's where we have the things mentioned above. Great reaction!

This might be my favorite reaction to this. Glad to have you back. ♥️♥️🔥🔥 I like the chasing the dragon line. Because it’s with a silver spoon, I like to think that the dragon is both the drugs and money. As you said, it applies to a lot of substances.

Superb reaction dude!! This whole song is just epic, not sure if you spotted but this was a one take (with a subtle transition when camera went behind the wheelchair), anyway the camerawork and lighting is so good and the coordination to put it all together just stunning. There is a behind the scenes video of the making of the video that's cool as well!

Isn't it important to strive towards a better goal for our society than the goal that we're now chasing? We need to strive for something better. We need to start or we're repeating the failure of previous civilizations and also destroying the planet that we need for our survival. Ren is pointing out that we can take the opportunity to work towards better, and we can kill off the old money game and start to create a better future society for our children.

Thank you 🙏❤ MiddleAgedWhiteGuy ❤ for your 🐷 Ren - 🎻🎻🎹💰🐚 Money Game, Part 3 reaction! #moneygamepartthree #ren #sickboialbum This is a one take until the camera passes behind the wheelchair, and from then on it is again a one take. The cut was necessary to transfer the brooch with the mike from the jacket lapel into a waterproof container in his tie knot. You can spot it there, when you look at it closely. Human nature and Utopia? Actually, that works. Look around Northern European countries and their societies, they are managing much closer to it, without coercion or giving up your individuality. Starting by putting communality into focus and not fencing people on the fringes out is the thing. Then work on your neighbours. We can get much better (including the Scandinavian utopias).

I think it’s suggested that he killed the prostitute / because at that age he’d have visited before. Was expecting a GnR ref - I used ta do a little but a little wouldn't do So the little got more and more I just keep tryin' ta get a little better Said a little better than before. Love that you got that this a rap track over an essentially classical back track - that’s not done. You’re a realist too - utopia is a not real. Human nature is explosions of creativity and invention - pure communism/socialism stifles that. Even Ren is selling merch The answer is taxation - create the wealth, enjoy you’re not more, but pay massively into society for housing, health and education for all. The alternative is polishing privileged turds with no creativity - I’ve seen yank Presidents like that - digressing. Great reaction fella from a Dubliner in Oxford, UK.

Here's a theory... The idea of being happy with your life if maybe you haven't made tons of money, but you found someone to love and make a family is just another way that people have been conditioned to settle for less money. Capitalism relies on a working class, it needs a working class or else it completely ceases to function, which means that it is essentially designed to keep most of the population poor enough so that they have to work to survive. Inflation is the mechanism created for that purpose. When the working class begin to have a little extra money, inflation rises faster to chip away at that extra money and make sure they don't accumulate too much wealth and need to continue working as many hours as we can get out of them. After a while, it's understandable that people would become frustrated with this, but somewhere along the line the concept was seeded in the minds of society that if you're able to find happiness in love and in family, that's all you really need to be truly happy. Start a family, and if you can support them, then that's enough happiness. I'm not saying that love is a bad thing, it's great, but there is no reason to settle for just love and be happy with that. That idea is a conditioned construct of capitalism. Love keeps people happy with being financially crippled.

Nothing wrong in teaching a boy to become a man, just what sort of man. The father is teaching his son attitudes that will lead to a lack of true priorities like love, family and happiness all for things that are often just to impress other people . There are some men who will buy a Lamborghini because they have a passion for sports cars but most buy them to be seen in as an answer to people who think they're losers, mainly themselves.

You are only at age 5 and the subsequent discussion and things will change massively later, but it is a good discussion for us to he having. While at age 5 I generally focused on, "must clean up after yourself, must learn these tasks etc, it isn't horrible, what this father is saying. However, I am sure you noticed the two things that really stood out as, "Uh oh, this can't be good." He leans down and aggressively gets in his face, so much the biy recoils a little, and also how he expressed the word, "man," in a gutteral, primal way. You know, the testosterone way (the f***k it and kill it hormone). If you have boys I am sure that has crossed your mind. How do we help our post puberty boys learn to both accept/harness these testosterone based impulses, but also manage them in a civil society, specifically when around women (respect, self control etc). So ya, so far dad isn't too far off being ok. Maybe a little aggressive in the tone, though. Foreshadowing... Then it hits, and you noticed, though you heard miney is a means to an end. It was far worse. Him: "Money is the means to ALL ends!" Me: "Ahh sh*t, poor kid." Next: I believe the seed of destruction is, "take all that you can " I am curious as to your reaction later when Ren asks you to take a look at yourself. Because you described the exact reality we live in and Ren calls it parasitic. I think the key to solving this is father's teaching their childen to not, "Reach into the cookie jar, take more than you need.". Taking more than you need, even if it is considered positive in our culture, is still greed. So what happens when greed becomes the literal law of the land? Guess who else agrees? Warren Buffett. Go read his recent discussion on how a healthy capitalist system needs for the poor amd middle class to have money, means and societal mobility. He basically asked to be taxed, along with his other multi billionaires. p.s. You didn't disappoint! 👍 Last comment I promise lol. You seem like a wise, caring father. So, father to father, I urge us both to try to help our children internalize that they can always strive to do their best, to gain enough wealth to love comfortably and that it is a valuable thing for society that they contribute to the whole. But at the same time, if they end up with millions more cookies from the cookie jar due to their abilities and hard work, it is true strength to find a way to hand them around. It is manly to be soft and content, yet strong as an ox. It is womanly to love someone with a focus not on how much material gain s/he will bring you, but how much fulfillment they bring to you emotionally. It is the mark of a strong person when people follow you when you arent trying to lead them, when you are able to jump into a community project to better something without putting a price tag in it, or when you simply give of yourself so those around you are lifted up, while at the same time providing enough, "self time," that you connect with yourself. Lets stop asking our kids what they want to be when they grow up. Instead, let's ask them who they want to be. I did this for my 12 year old son after first watching this piece of art, and what he shared with me was something far more than he has before. It was at this moment that I realized he has a big, beautiful, well developed inner world. And he completely shuts it down and hides when teachers, parents or coaches ask him to start exploring what job he wants when he grows up. I have since encouraged him to keep developing this inner world, learn to interface with the realities of the outer world...but that he will figure out his career and future more by the development of himself rather than the development of plan for a singular outcome, "I want to be a doctor." What happens when that goes all wrong and that's all you are inside? An empty shell with societal approved letters after his name, MD.

I disagree, but am willing to consider the possibility…. Can you give an example and make the correlation? To me the song focused on the fathers relationship with money and how his mindset transferred to his son as an unhealthy obsession and a measuring stick of his own self worth…. It could have easily been a mom instilling this mindset in “jimmy” and has no correlation with toxic masculinity whatsoever….. in my opinion anyway.
