Yep Coach debuted on ABC in February/March of 1989. I wish as a teenager I had a VCR to tape these off of USA.

They really should have got to go on that date.

Im sorry you had to deal with cancer its such a terrible disease 😔! Been through hell with my mom with cancer back in 2013 she is great now thank God. And please don't down yourself your not fat just pleseantly plump that's what I like to call it! If you do want to try to lose weight naturally weight watchers is a wonderful program I did it before I need to do it again I've gained about 50 lbs in the last 2 years terrible. I need to do it for health reasons more than anything but I would like to look good again too and feel good about myself I've always been a little on the bigger side but I've always felt good but now I'm just a little too big for my comfort! But ill get there as soon as I put a little effort into it. But thank you again I appreciate these videos so much

I think the reason they didn't keep doing the stand up bit was it was resembling Welcome Back Kotter.

I am a congenital heart defect survivor.

The first season they decided to have Bill start the show with him doing a bit of his stand up stuff in the classroom. Maybe they felt it would get people interested. And yes, the third season episode Comedy Tonight, which Bill is credited as co-writer on, is where Coach does a stand up act, which was mostly Bill's act. I had seen some of those jokes on a Gallagher special he did.

Your comments around the 27:00 mark is why the show got taken off the air. It was about a Catholic family and the faith. We can't have that on tv!
