I honestly feel Tracy Anderson needs to make you an official brand ambassador! She’s fortunate to have you shedding light on this method. I jumped ship from the online studio more than a year ago and I’ve never tried meta and now I’m seriously intrigued. Thank you Rachel!

Try meta. I get better results than with the online studio. There are a lot of people who have jumped ship for the same reason.

@@sharonfeliciano4894 Great to see you have found it better to go back, I also find the online studio to be unnatural for a body to adapt to. I feel the body needs some repetition. Can’t knock down a tree by chopping at different parts, need a focused repetitive hit.

I am new to TA and started Metamorphosis for a couple days but realized that I wasn’t ready. I needed ro back up to the Beginner series and take my time. The burn is there and so I am activating some muscle. I appreciate it SO much that you are also finding Metamorphosis to be difficult. And you are experienced! I felt a bit better today about my choice to back up to Beginner. And it is because of this video. Thank you.

I am so glad you made this video! I am working through Meta for the first time and now I am inundated with TA ads for online studio. The FOMO is real! But Meta is a hard program in and of itself. I get very frustrated with it but find a lot of helpful tips with your videos. You seem to cover all of my issues! 😂. One of the things I started to do along side keeping my days, when I switch up to the next 10 days, I write the moves down and how many times she does each move. I also recently got the book because of your tip from another video. So glad you are doing this “back on track”. Can’t wait to see more of this journey!

Hello! First, I just wanted to say thank you for all the videos you have helped me sooo much! You are making a difference and I love that you are so transparent! I wanted to encourage you with a few stories. I have a dear friend/mentor of mine who started Tracy about 15 years ago. She suffered with eating disorders and always had to be careful with her relationship with food and working out. She has been consistent for the whole time and I personally got to see the transformation in her body! She was in her mid 30s when she started and she is now 51 and looks amazing! I mean she could put 20 year olds to shame. She was never heavy before but this has literally changed her for the better! I have started and stopped the method so many times before but your tips on pushing yourself and are you actually doing the method is helping me a ton! I Another friend who has been doing Tracy for over 10 years and she also is in her 50s and looks amazing! Keep at it because it is a lifestyle and it will pay off in the end. Because these ladies look stunning! They even went to the studio to workout live with Tracy and did one on ones with her and also really enjoyed that! Another thing I wanted to say was hormones make a huge diff! I’m 45 and had been doing HIIT workouts as well for over a year with little difference. I finally went to. Hormone specialist and my hormones were in the single digits. She said she was surprised I could even get out of bed lol. I now do bioT pellets and it has made all the difference in my energy and also my ability to stick with a workout program! I also needed Thyroid meds. So sometimes this plays into the factor of not feeling like doing anything or not seeing any results. Just food for thought! I hope those stories help you as I know sometimes we feel we won’t reach the body we want but there transformations have helped me realize it can be done and it’s so worth it. As they are super active and healthy for their age and truly don’t even look 50!
@RundownwithRachel

What a beautiful story. I can see myself in your friend (with the ED history), and I know others who read your comment will see themselves, too. Really appreciate your experience around hormones. Its a reminder that there are SO many variables at play and it is so great to hear that you are in a better place and found a great specialist. Every time I see the long time TAMers, I remind myself of your message - it can be done AND it is WORTH IT! Thank you, Brandy, for sharing your insight. They help ALL of us!

Hi Rachel! Love your videos. I'm on day 16 of Meta Hipcentric. I am so relieved to hear you say how freakin hard that little side tap move is. I could only do 7 the first time!! But I worked my way up and made it to 40 by the end. I'm up to 16 minutes of dance cardio now. I'm 46 and all that jumping is rough on my calves. But I will make it to 30!! I am so proud of myself for getting my hour in, just like you said. It makes me realize I can do something really challenging and uncomfortable for one hour. I heard Tracy say, "You have to have the courage to not be good at something." And that really spoke to me. I started and quit this program in 2012 because I felt I was so bad at it. Here's to not being perfect at something and getting a little better every day! Cheers!! Also, love your hair.

I've been following you for a year, and you have been so helpful in keeping me consistent and inspired in my TAM journey!I also got into TAM through Erin Busbee, and then found you talking about Meta. I did some Meta a year ago, and then jumped ship to try online studio which I have been doing for about 10 months, now, at Intermediate level. I recently fractured my wrist after falling while chasing my puppy, so no TAM for me for a couple months. I was thinking how nice it is lately to not have so much pressure to work out for an hour and more each day.... and I am taking these long hikes in the woods near my house which are magical. I feel this video has come along at perfect timing...I am seriously considering to join you and go back to Meta when I heal up in the next couple months, with a plan to follow up with Continuity. I love the idea of a simpler, shorter workout, that I can fit into my schedule so much more easily, with more time to learn the moves in depth and less pressure to learn new content more frequently. I love that Tracy is in all the videos giving cues, as well. It blew my mnd when you shared here that you get 50% off for life off of online studio with the purchase of the entire Continuity program. That alone is a big motivator, considering the fact that I know I am a TAM 'lifer' now, after seeing so many amazing changes in my body that other workouts and hot yoga could never do. Thanks for posting such great content . Much love!!

Leave it to a fellow Rachael to leave such a beautiful comment. I’m so sorry to hear you sustained an injury, but I bet it was worth it for that sweet puppy! If I didn’t find Tracy, or if I ever need a pause walking in nature will be my go to! Sounds magical! I completely am with you that there is this type of stress, pressure to get an hour workout in and it’s a lot. I am stunned by how quickly the meta classes go by and how much more present I am. Should I endure the long 3.5 years of the meta/continuity journey - im hopeful the hour of IMC won’t be as stressful. Either way, being less stressful on the pocketbook will only help!

I too started with Metamorphosis again. Admittedly I need to do a better job of tracking. We are in agreement that the first workout is tough! My arms are trembling, legs are trembling, sweat dripping profusely…but I love it. Thanks for your perspective on the online studio. My hesitation was the time commitment required for the workouts in one sitting. I find I need flexibility with my workouts due to my schedule.

I began Meta a few years ago, but didn't finish. I came back to it a couple months ago and am currently on the final segment, level 8. I don't follow her diet but still love the results. I usually do the mat work 5 days a week and maybe get 3-4 days of dance cardio. When I don't sleep well and energy is low, I give myself a break and trade dance for another form of cardio that is easy but effective and doesn't interfere with her design work, such as Kelly Coffey-Meyer Start Here 30 min to fitness. On a separate note, I was recently diagnosed with osteopenia, which is fairly common in women over 50 and one of the things I decided to change was the way I think about workouts. Now I treat them like prescriptions. If I want to get better and improve bone density, I have to do the work. It's a small mental shift but it's effective for me. I think Meta + Cardio (along with a few dietary changes and additional vitamins) is the perfect prescription to improve bone density. I love exercising and seeing results, but it feels especially good knowing the work I put in is actually benefiting me on the inside, too. Take care and thanks for always keeping it real.

I just want to feel good. I am finding as I age I feel stiffer. TA movements make me feel great. I just have to do it every day. Or at least try. And instead of dance cardio I walk. I know this is old and you aren’t doing TAM anymore but I want you to know that I’m so thankful that I found your videos because it convinced me to try Metamorphosis. Even though I’ve been lifting weights regularly for over a year and had previously used programs like Blogilates, Meta is so challenging for me. I’ve been doing the first 10 days for about 4-5 days a week for about three weeks to try to build strength and work my way up to consistently doing all the reps 10days a week before moving onto the next level. Im not sure if this is the right way to go about it but at this point I don’t think there’s anyway I can move on to the next level. I also struggle with that one move you showed, so I feel more encouraged knowing that an experienced Tamer like you struggles with that one as well!

I've been waiting for this video all weeeeek ! Thank you Rache for being so honest and open. I got inspired (been thinking the same about going back to Meta considering the Studio is much more expensive and wasn't sticking to it 100% although it did help to get that routine on), I cancelled my online membership so will start Meta again (which I never finished bc it was too overwhelming) so I can do cardio at the gym which is much cheaper to complemet the program. It's nice to see people on the same journey and what you said about being proud and debuncking the myth of commiting to something it's so true. We are often more afraid of succeding than failing, with everything in life ! *The music IS BAD but I think doing the first workout helps to listen the queues that Tracy gives that are so helpful and we kind of missed in the online studio. It helps to not feel that alone or lost in the moves. Hope I don't get bored AF ! Ps: Couldn't agree more that side kick move is a F***....

I have a hard time w meta legs due to those 40 reps. It’s made for some intense hip and knee injuries over the years. As an online studio streamer that’s recently come back to Tracy after a long break, I was happy to see she’s really reduced that rep count. Yes!! I keep tweaking and pulling my lower back and it's trying to hit the 40. I've started to break the 40 ones down e.g. I'll do 20 one day, 25 next , 28 and build up. Takes longer to progress BUT means am less tweaky. I am nearly 40 tho so that prob why (at least for me) I am taking more cautious approach. !

I know this is an older comment but honestly anytime I start TA, I just do about 20 reps on each side. I normally learn the moves by day 2 and so I just count out my reps. 40 is too much and my knees can’t take it. As a stylist who is on my feet 10+ hours a day, I realized what my body could and couldn’t handle. Always do what your body tells you. I stick to the Meta dvds I have and if I feel bored or need a change I rely on the other DVD’s she released that you could find at places like target or Amazon.

Watching different videos of yours just now specifically talking about the Tracy Anderson Method and or the Ham Method, I am wondering if you have at any point cycled back and forth between them for a week, a month, two months to see what you feel like as well as the results. I have liked the quick and dancie movements of the Tracy Anderson Method because I come from a dance background but looking at the Ham Method I also like doing lots of reps that are not as quick and more controlled like pilates. And I have always liked workouts that switch things up from toning to cardio and back and forth in the workout. There are other things like I like to and my difficulty has always been over doing it which led to burnout. And I don't like my hunger being spiked either so when you were talking about that in one of your videos about the Ham Method I found that very interesting as well as not feeling tired the way you did from other workouts. I so get it! Thank you for your videos!

You are so right about Meta! It's a really great way to get in tune with the moves and your body. I finished the Abcentric and am now on Continuity. I'm going to decide whether to actually sign up for the Online Studio. The moves in Meta seem to be the basis of her current moves. I wanted to 'perfect' these moves as much as possible so that I would be ready to proceed with the online component. When I began Meta I started to add two/three current moves that Tammers post on Instagram [I know, it's weird], and incorporate them into the workout. I do those moves for as many days as I do that level, and then I look for new moves when I go to the next level. I add 25-30 minutes of cardio 3 times a week. Continuity is really challenging. Less reps but more difficult moves. Some of the Continuity levels don't have a weight component, which I really love, so I have to say that I'm skipping around. Also, Continuity doesn't seem to have body types. Unless I didn't see it! Every single time I do a tape, I pick up something new. It's kind of well, comforting to know exactly what workout I'm doing each day. And I feel like I'm always learning. There are nuances in every move, which makes it so effective. This program is really the best I've ever done. Nothing has given me results like this.

You should also take a look at the 30 day method, because it is seriously a staggered way to actually get into the method. She requires you to do each section for 10 days before moving on, and you can actually see the progression of each class of movement as the days increase. In addition, it is a great way to actually learn the movements from the basics. Finally I started with just 15 reps per side for each 10 day section and repeat with 20, 30reps till I get to 40. I noticed I was getting results even at 15 reps and my endurance improved. Your videos are always enlightening, thank you.

Recently, I uncovered TAM beginner mat video on Daily Motion. Tracy fully explains all the exercises. Upon going back to meta after doing the beginner mat videos 1-3, one time each, I am sore in all the right places! I’ve never felt these results before. I really appreciate this video, namely because after 3 ish months of TA online, which I LOVE btw, I feel tired. To note, my body has definitely changed radically - no arguments. However I have been finding the time commitment too much. Given all the other areas of my life I need to be present in (work, hubby, friends, child, book writing) I haven't been able to show up fully because of my on and off fatigue. The method is so weird in that...the mat workout is super fatiguing in a way thats impossible to explain unless you do it. I eat well, am healthy, no thyroid, I take iron, sleep well etc etc. But 90mins of hard work 5 or 6 days a week..... I think I will take your advice and go back to my metamorphosis vids for a while and see what happens.

Kind of the same way we'd not fully understand a new language, in the beginning. Until you keep going. The movement seems so awkward right now. Your videos are the reason I really have decided to keep going. The only thing I ask.....which hash tags can I look for to find other Tammers? I don't really do Facebook so I definitely need to know what to look for within the community. I had some ptsd over the last 2 years and I gained too too much. I'm hoping this program will help with a transformation then I'll move on to toning. So I hope this is the program for me. I appreciate all your work you've put into this. I am so curious about Meta as I hear so many folks will talk about really feeling that foundation get established in a deep way. @junebug0609
@junebug0609 2 года назад
I own most of Tracy's older DVDs along with the Omnicentric Metamorphosis/Continuity already, so I'm trying to milk through those DVDs first before considering the online streaming classes. For me, the Metamorphosis and Continuity workouts alone are already more than challenging enough for me, so I like to take my time to progress through that program and mix in the older DVDs. I like to schedule Mon-Fri to focus on Meta/Continuity because they are only around 30 mins. For the weekends, I give myself the option to do an older workout DVD or rest as a way to prevent myself from burning out over Meta. This means it takes me two weeks to go through a Meta/Continuity level. Personally, I need to take one step backward before going forward several steps, but it allows me to be more consistent with my TA workouts overall. Of the older DVDs, I like TA Mat Workout for its tough 20 mins section of Arms and standing Abs, the Precision Toning for 15 minute sections (Arms, Abs, Legs, Butt) to cherry pick from, and the Post Pregnancy Workout for the Abs section. I've never been pregnant, but I think the 25 min Abs section from the Post Pregnancy Workout DVD is still one of TA's best Ab workouts. For traveling, I like the Perfect Design Series because I don't need to pack hand weights to do those workouts, yet I can find a chair in my hotel room most of the time to do the exercises. I'm an apple shaped person, so I like adding the TA Mat Workout and the TA Post Pregnancy Workouts mixed in my routine the most because I find the Arms/Abs section in Meta/Continuity to be to short for my taste (10 mins max).
@RundownwithRachel

@@amandadobson1372 It definitely took time for me to figure out my way around it, but I found a set up that works for me. The two things that help me the most were 1)Storing my videos onto my iPad mini or tablet and 2) wearing knee pads when I don't have a mat available or my mat is not thick enough. It makes it easier to do the workouts in my office as well as at home. I actually keep a set of 3 pound weights, ankle weights, and knee pads in my office to make it more convenient to knock out a 30 minute workout during my lunch break. I may have commented this on another of your videos, but for anyone needing to build up to a longer Dance Cardio time, I highly recommend Tracy's Cardio Dance for Beginners and Cardio Dance Express workouts. The DVDs are available on Amazon (or Ebay) and the Downloads are available on her site. Cardio Dance for Beginners has four 15 minute DC workouts, and Cardio Dance Express has six 10 minute DC workouts. You can start with 10 minutes and work your way up, adding on as you gain more endurance. Or if you're like me and have days where you don't feel like doing anything, just tell yourself that you can just do 10 minutes and you're done! Most of the time I end up adding at least one more 10 minute session on days like that, if not more! But it makes doing dance cardio a lot less daunting :) ETA: For anyone just starting with TA, I recommend any of her Beginner DVDs/Downloads! They are a great way to ease into things just a bit before Meta if you don't feel quite ready for it.

I am hipcentric, and I have the hipcentric dvds as well as the omnicentric. the hour long online is daunting, plus you're supposed to do cardio on top. very daunting! thats quite a luxurious time commitment. i get up by 4:30 as it is and fight out my beginner level workout. i attempt to do a 15 body boost too. I never use Spotify, I guess I'll try it! Do you play Spotify during DC, does it work, I tried playing my own list during DC and it stunk? I have umbrage with "be patient". Everyone says that, but you know what? Tracy herself advertises that Gwenyth was convinced of her work when she lost 11 inches in 10 days. It's literally on her website.... My brain knows Gwenyth has direct access to Tracy whenever she wants, and she was likely working out who knows how long daily, and she has a personal chef to handle the calories (or lack there of) that she eats....but still, can I have decent results in a decent amount of time if I'm smart on my calories and do the prescribed workouts? @RundownwithRachel
@RundownwithRachel 2 года назад
It really is a luxurious time commitment and I know what you mean that it can be frustrating if you aren’t see the results when you put in so much work. Given you wake up at 4:30 (how on earth do you do that?) do you think you are getting enough sleep. I think I may do an experiment where I put much more emphasis on sleep and see how that helps me. Recent research showed that people burned 50% MORE FAT when they got enough sleep versus when they didn’t. There is no denying that you put in the work - especially to wake up so early! And to feel like you aren’t getting the results that are promised is very discouraging. Any chance you’ve shared your experience on the community page? To top that off with an answer to your question - yes, the Teen book was the other one I read and it is also so helpful. Lots of life perspective in their, too, which i can appreciate.

Anyone feel like TA goes really fast in meta? Even day 1-10. Is it worth it to buy? I just do the ones on YT. Thank you!

I bought the DVD's seriously like 10 years ago. I can't believe I've had them that long. I wanted to like the workout back then but really it just pissed me off. I had so much fat loss and toning results from using kettlebells for only 24 min, 3 times/week that I was like, oh H no, not doing this s**t. But I'm intrigued to really commit and give it a try again, now having learned how to actually do it correctly (full body engagement, etc). I'm not even going to pull out the dvd's though because the entire omni workout is available on youtube. And no dance cardio for me, this body ain't jumping on any hard surfaces anymore, but I am using a rebounder.

I watched meta abcentric day 1-10 on RU-vid. I see the whole abcentric series is on RU-vid picture quality is marginal. On TA website you can view them online can’t remember subscription rate

I went back and forth allot. Until I realized is was better to stay put. I’ve seen so many jump here jump there jump everywhere.

Yes! There is this anxiety of - is the grass greener on a different side?

I bought glutecentric and omnicentric and they are the same dvds with a different label 😢 from day 1 to day 90 exactly the same. Do you know why? It doesn’t matter your body time… I really Love TA method but talking about different body type doesn’t make sense.

I just started metamorphosis today. I’m nervous. My issue is I start a program then I stop over time.

I am with you. I am nervous most days - especially before the leg sequences begin. It can be overwhelming thinking about doing it day in and day out - so I take it one day at a time. Even if you stop, you can always get back on. I have started and stopped more times than I can count!

I agree Rachel, Metamorphosis is really effective for getting back to basics. I did it over a year ago through continuity for a year and restarted with abcentric meta (on day 48). Love it. I'm doing it on RU-vid and sometimes she will say 40 reps but it only plays 28 or so before the move changes but eh, it's still working. Lol. So hard but I love it. Meanwhile, just found this recent talk with Tracey. Pasting it here for you and others if you haven't seen it already. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RN4olz3bPkw.html Hope married life is treating you well, take care! Liza

Thank you, Liza!!!!! That’s so strange that it doesn’t show all the moves. This talk was so good! Thank you for sharing. It inspired me to cover all of the celebrities that do TAM. With that intro, I had no idea those celebrities including Robert Downey Jr. did TAM.

@@RundownwithRachel Honestly, it could be because I use the RU-vid video versions of Meta but I swear she says 40 and does 20. lol!! Hey, I'm still getting results so I'm good with it!🤣
