Who is Dr. Ergin? Dr. Ahmet Ergin is an endocrinologist with a particular interest and passion for diabetes care. Dr. Ergin earned his medical degree with honors at Marmara University School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. Then, he completed his internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He is also a certified diabetes education specialist.

Thanks to your advice my a1c went from 9 to 5 in just 3 months. You are a blessing ,please don't ever stop. Your knowledge is a godsend. My Doctors are amazed and I give you all the credit. I am a 79 year old woman with a strong history of diabetes in my family ,both parents and all siblings. Diagnosed in 2021 having lost 90 pounds. My doctor was amazed after 3 months my a1c was 5 and stayed there. Recently My Daughter was diagnosed with pre diabetes and I told her about you and she lost 50pounds and is no longer pre diabetic and is continuing to loose weight. I reversed my type 2 diabetes using macros diet of 1200 calories a day, 40% protein, 30% carbs and 30% fat. Diagnosed with 10.6 a1c in May 2021 and by August 2021 I was down to 5.2 a1c. I have lost 100 pounds in 7.5 months.

Juvenile onset, Type 1 diabetic for 46 years now. I used a Keto diet and intermittent fasting to lose 45 lbs. in half a year. Got off blood pressure pills and my A1Cs dropped from low 8s to low 6s. My current weight of 180 (6' tall) feels like I'm no longer carrying a bag full of bowling balls around (my profile pic is when I was 225). It's easier to do everything from touching my toes to tying my shoes. I don't understand why more doctors and governments don't push weight loss rather than pills and injections? So many diabetics (and non diabetics) could benefit. Thank you for your continuing great information, Dr. Ergan!

I reversed my diabetes under 5 months by DIY (do it yourself) literally going cold turkey on sugar and high carb diet. I used KETO diets and going against the NHS guidelines on diabetes. The British national health service does not believe in reversing diabetes rather they guide you on how to live with diabetes. Under six months l lost almost 45% of my body weight moving 6 holes backwards on my belt, I bought a new belt hole puncher on eBay. My trousers dropped from a UK size 36 to 30-32. My 3 year disability of limping from a badly inflamed right knee and right shoulder vanished, skin tags fell off. I now have extreme physical stamina and strength, I feel the healthiest now but my GP is concerned about my cholesterol hence I moved to a low carb diet. Diabetes run in my family so I launched a vicious battle called operation beat diabetes or die trying! I will never take medication for diabetes or cholesterol but I will be open to supplement. Thanks Dr Egin for all your inspiration, I hope that your Sugar MD products can make into the UK 🇬🇧 market. I write this to inspire diabetics to reverse their diabetes by taking positive action. Doc your channel is amazing and very informational! My A1C is 4.1 and I have a lot of weird symptoms that come and go occasionally for the past 2 years last 2-3 months then with healthy eating and habits after 3-4 months it goes way. I was told I am pre-diabetes just this January and prescribed metformin to help me lose weight but I lost 6.1kg in 1 month without it through keto and a low-calorie diet in the 800-1100 range. I also thought about DKA bc of my symptoms and high ketones based on the color of the stip around 4-8mmol...not sure it also depends on how much water I drink. I try to drink more water now but considering how long I have had the symptoms my ketones might have been high like prob longer than January possibly for months without me knowing considering my parents told me my breath smells of Acetone for months now so I would be in the hospital by now if it was DKA but I have arranged a visit in 2 weeks to an endocrinologist in my area that shares your values you know just in case. It might be an infection too or some autoimmune disease. My blood sugar is 65 in the morning and 106 2 hours after eating..So I am on the border. Who knows it might have been the sudden weight gain last year after a lot of stressful situations I gained 10 kgs in 3 months. But the real trigger felt the layin down and bad eating in Dec/early Jan. You are real right about how some are fat but feel great but others are thing or suddenly gain a lot of weight and boom...😅Your channel has helped me a lot tho. I do feel more energetic after I lost 7 kg. The tiredness is not an issue anymore at least. Also. I would advise you to contact pharmacy distribution companies in Europe. My friends are studying this field right now and honestly your are more well known that you think. I hope your supplements become available in pharmacies worldwide. I wish you great success!

My sugar count was 1000 yes a THOUSAND I know I know Dr. told me and he was puzzled. I reversed it within a YEAR hell yeah. I'm now @ the low 100's. If gets high I sprinkle me some cinnamon for a natural insulin. Next mourning I'm regular again cinnamon is the answer.

Hi SugarMD, a couple of comments. 1st, I did not see in your app a way to ask a simple question. You have a feedback section but not to ask a simple question; I think that would be a great additional feature to your app or including a QA section for common people like me to ask questions. 2nd, I am/was interested in your diabetes reversal program and I am on 5 MG of Glipizide, twice a day. My A1C is in the range of 5.8-5.9 and occasionally 6.0 but I still would like to stop taking Glipizide and be chemical free. So how can I take advantage of your diabetes reversal program?

I’m assuming by the video that this study is only for Type 2 diabetics (although I can’t find anything currently on your site about eligibility). Would this diet also assist Type 1s or LADA diabetics in losing weight (obviously not in reversal)?

I have been turned down from the program too I guess it's either because of my age or because I have been a diabetic for longer than 10 years I dont know which. I. Just need some help and direction. I use to weigh 315 pounds and I have lost all of the weight and have kept it off for 15 years but I'm still diabetic. I dont know if this diabetes has anything to do with PCOS I found out at the age. of 39 that is what I had. So, at this stage of my life I'm trying to understand and finally live a healthy life which i have been doing for the last 15 yrs. I currently weigh 154 I am 5 5. I work out, I use to be able to run marathons but I cant now because of 2 knee replacements. But I still go to the gym I do RPM, Body Combat, and a I do a little weight lifting. I dont want to take Metformin it is not good for you in my opinion. I wish I was able to be your patient. I was told for as long as I can remember if you lose the weight the diabetes will go away. I just need some direction, information or I dont know.......understanding.... Thank you for your time and consideration. You do a wonderful job. You are awesome. If I lived in your area I would get on a waiting list to be a patient of yours.... again thanks..

@@SugarMDs thank you, my niece i think was born with this. As a baby she was raised in orange juice. She'd throw up milk or formula. Her body just produces too much insulin no matter what she eats. She's not even 30 and her hormones are out of wack and it's embarrassed of facial hair. How do you address that? We're in Central California. Maybe she could do a virtual consultation. She's read ups lot on her situation. No dairy, no bread is she can avoid it and only none GMO foods for her. Thank you

Same here. I have had several doctors write me off because of my age and medical conditions. I was told not to do intermittent fasting. I attempted it anyway (I did have a a little dizziness) but lost 30 pounds and my blood glucose never went below 88. I would love a diet to lose more weight and reduce my insulin dosage more.

I have 8kg to go until my upper normal weight 54kg. After losing 43kg, I am currently stuck at 62kg and during fasting for Ramadan this month im hoping to lose 6-8kg. I have hypo constantly and im on low carb which comes from vegetables, i want to reverse my diabetes permanently though when I get stressed I have a muffin with a crisp! This takes my glucose to 12, thats when I take 500mg metformin and exercise 15min. Life must go on, depression is a dangerous thing I do try manage it, but sleeping 4hrs isn't right, my 3yo is difficult and my partners not as supportive. Once I graduate my Msc in Aug hoping I'll be under less stress. I don't know why I have junk as snacks, I really just want to escape but were to go, but turn to food😪

1. Depends how long you’ve been diabetic for 2. Depends how you’re calculating your weight. Do you know your body fat percentage? Do you know your lean mass percentage? These are a more accurate way of assessing your situation than BMI.

Thank you Sean..I’m diabetic from past 1 year..I’m not very sure about my fat/lean mass..my diabetic doctor told me since I’m having good BMI and my A1C is 5.4 , no need to do any fasting etc. but I’m curious about this diet plan, at the same time I’m afraid of weight loss..

@@praveengogula9966 if your A1c is 5.4% then you are technically no longer diabetic. To continue to tackle any insulin resistance, just keep eating healthy and lift some weights regularly and you should be fine.

I did not qualify for the program. My age is 74. Ive had Type 2 diab, since 2009. So, does that mean the program won’t work for me. I cannot imagine surviving on an 800 cal diet. ANYWSY, can this work for me, or am I too old???

I needed to lose a lot of weight fast. My last lab tests were bad. A1C 6.9, liver enzymes way up. I'm on the following diet. One beer mug of coffee in the morning, one tin of sardines in olive oil in the evening and a swig of apple cider vinegar at night. I take about 50 supplements a day and I'm adding more. Today my blood sugar was 94. I'm losing a pound or two a day. I'm lazy as hell, have no appetite anyway due to anxiety. I'm also strong as a horse. I'm stronger now than I was 30 years ago. I follow you and several other experts as well. I probably spend over $100 a month on supplements. I was not infected with Covid and took both shots and the booster of Moderna. Thanks for your advice. I find it very helpful.

I'm disabled, low income & can't afford the $500 price tag of your program. I could justify that cost if insurance covered this as it would be a sizable chunk of both my deductible and out of pocket max. Are there any scholarship, reduced cost or at least insurance friendly options you would recommend?

For many, diabetes and obesity is a sugar/carb problem, so cut down on these things and things should improve. Still, some people need to be in a program with instructors to feel a sense of security and confirmation of what they’re doing. Difficult by yourself!

I am taking Glucophage but it seems as if it's not working for me. The doctor increased dosage from 500 to 1500 but it's still the same. The only side effect I'm experiencing it's farting a lot 🙈🙈with this medication

You can't reverse or get rid of type 1 diabetes according to my doctor. Meanwhile. There is a study and test using stem cells to rebuild beta cells so that the body can regulate its own blood sugar and it has been with positive results with two test subjects
