I was even tempted by the latest lease deals. As they cannot give it away the reduced the lease deal to 2800 down and £275 pm. That was over £700 pm and 11K down. The depreciation on these EV’s are biblical.

Simply reduced to help VW hit zero emissions quota before the year end. No big drama, just VW avoiding a potential fine. These quotas are effecting a lot of the traditional car makers whilst for others (like Tesla or MG) it’s obviously a bit of a non issue.

@@DefinitelyNotAGuru A non issue unless you have bought one at full price. So get this message out to your followers, buy NO EV until the end of the year and get them for 1/3 of their price. See how unsustainable this whole farce is.

Compared to the Caddy that only goes as far as a 1.4l PHEV, VW has demonstrated how to squander an oppertunity such as a Type 2 recreation. It's a repeat offensive strategy on a posh New Beetle and it's not turning out well. VW knows and depreciation is catastrophic from what VW is accustomed to It's completely naff. Tragically compromised The fact that it's an expensive 5 seater designed to compete for premium SUV/Range Rover families is its main flaw - pretentiously exclusive. It's not the mass adoptive option for people carrying ability. It doesn't even come with a front 1+2 bench as is with the commercial version. Only 5 seats for the SWB and only 7 for the LWB is by itself disappointing - compared to the better packaging of the the VW Caddy or indeed EV competitors like the Citroën Berlingo or Spacetourer.
