My mom moved to that area 4 years ago, from California to Epworth, between McCaysville and Blue Ridge, absolutely beautiful area! We will be relocating to that area within 2 years, looking so forward to riding that part of the country! Keep sharing your adventures, love seeing my future roads! Great job!
You will love riding these roads. I lived on the central coast of California in my younger days and loved the riding around that area. Thanks for watching and good luck with the move. Ride safe.
Hello GA Ramblin Man! I found you years back riding the Boulevard because I bought a used one and it was a solid performing bike except mine didn't really care for anything over 60 MPH. Now I see you riding a Heritage, a modern one, and it makes me smile. They are so balanced and I love the modular ability for all the trips on my 2018 Heritage Special to make it a touring to stripped down local riding bike. I put 36 thousand miles on my 2018 before selling it. Loved the bike so much, put went a different way due to my style of riding and places I like to travel. I'm on a 2021 Goldwing for reliability sport touring. If I could afford it, would have kept both. I'm 58 years old, 6ft, and 295 pounds, so big boy bikes that can handle mountain curves are my thing. You renting a bike in Hawaii was a true inspiration to me. Since Covid has calmed down, Eagle Vision rentals for out West are on my bucket list. Just waving to say enjoy every curve and every moment out there, it's great to be alive friend. Take care!
I really made a nice upgrade going from the Boulevard to the Heritage and I love it, especially the powerful 114 motor that is so much better on the highway than the 50 that the Boulevard had. Add in the ABS and cruise control and it’s definitely better. I have always wanted to try a Goldwing but haven’t yet. There is an Eagle Rider rental place in Atlanta I need to just go and rent one for a day and try it out. Thanks for watching and the kind comments. Ride safe.
Just stumbled upon the channel and glad I did. We have family in Cumming, and planning an eventual move to Rome ourselves. Happy to see all the beautiful riding available in North GA. Can't wait to check it out myself.
I have a favorite local road…I live out in the country, but at the end of my road is Millingport Road, which I can take out thru some scenic farmland and nice hills and curves. It gets twisty in a couple of spots, too…then back to sweeping curves and rolling hills. When I head up to meet Stoney, I take this road. Living so close to the Uwharrie Mountains spoils me for good roads.
That's a nice ride for sure. North Georgia has a lot of great roads, well maintained. We are lucky as you said. One of my favorites is hwy 60. From Suches to Morgantown. I need to go again soon. I'm in Gainesville so I'm close and lucky too. Think I'll go tomorrow.😁
I’ve been on that road too and it’s a great one. We are lucky to live in such a great area for motorcycle roads. Thanks for watching and sharing your favorite road. Ride safe.
Agree with you, so many great roads in N GA, E TN and W NC. I live south of Atlanta and this gives me the itch to get up there for the first (but not last) time in 2022. You guys north of the city make me jealous being so close (2 hours to Dahlonega for me).
I used to live in Middle GA and there were a lot of great country roads in that part of the state, but all mostly flat. Much better in North GA. Just jump on I-285 and then GA 400 and you’ll be up here in a jiffy!! (if you survive I-285 and 400). Thanks for watching and ride safe.
A few years ago we were riding the TAIL OF THE DRAGON. Went around a switchback and there was a Bear in the road so yes always ride safe in areas you are not familiar with.
I worry about bears up in these mountains too. There are a lot of them and I think the motorcycle loses in a collision with a black bear. Thanks for watching. Ride safe.
I'm like you. I like the sweepers more than Dog legs and hairpin curves. I really don't have a favorite road per say so when I heal up, I'll have to give that some thought. Great vid.
I’m too old for those hairpin turns and crazy roads like that. These are much more enjoyable and safe in my humble opinion. Keep healing and I’m sure the Spyder will be waiting on you. Thanks for watching.
My favorite route in the area is US 64 in NC west to Tenn. rt 68 north to Telico Plains, then the Cherohala Skyway back to Robbinsville NC. We enjoy eating at the Iron Works Grill in Tellico Plains.
The Cherohala Skyway is one of my favorite roads too. I’ve ridden from Tellico Plains to Robbinsville a few times. Thanks for watching and sharing your favorites. Ride safe.
You are blessed to have those mountains and roads so close. I’d have to ride 5 hours to get into the Texas hill country for some beautiful roads and hills.
It is nice to be so close to some great roads. Riding a motorcycle through the Texas hill country is definitely on my bucket list. Beautiful part of our great country. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
What a great road man. Not much of a shoulder so def want to ride within your limits lol. I could ride this road everyday. It just flows with the mountains. I agree I really prefer the sweepers versus the technical lol
Definitely not much of a shoulder and loose gravel at that. Just a second of not paying attention could lead to you going down a very steep mountainside that wouldn’t end well. It’s a great road and I could ride it every day as well. Thanks for watching and giving NC Stoney and I the motivation to make these videos of our favorite local roads. Thanks for watching and commenting. I enjoy your channel a lot.
Nice ride, I was amazed at how clear and crisp the picture looked as you rode down the road. I just pulled my 2018 heritage out of storage from our local Harley dealer. The ground was white with snow this morning as I went to work, but it melted by late morning. It was 25 degree's this morning and warmed up to about 45. More snow expected in the morning before switching to rain.
I have not used any tire sealant on the tubed tires that come on this motorcycle. I did not have any with me when I had the flat last year. Not sure if it would have helped with the tubed tires. I wish the Heritage had tubeless tires but I do like the old school spoked look.
Yeah it missed us thankfully. Spring tornadoes in the south are pretty bad. I’m lucky to have never experienced one first hand but I’ve driven through some areas after the fact and it was amazing to see what damage they can do. Thanks for watching.
I’ve only got about 3,700 miles so far. But I’m determined to increase that dramatically over the next 6 months for sure. And now with my heated grips - winter be damned!
