Honestly Roger Clark absolutely deserved that award, he voice acted such a complex and detailed character with so much depth and he did it with such skill and emotion, one of the greatest voice actors to this day
@@user-hx6gs9rq7u im aware of that, he still did an amazing job acting in the game in general, like most of the other people in the game like Benjamin Byron Davis for example.
I think that the way Arthur says "I'm afraid" to the nun in the 6th chapter deserves an award alone. His voice cracking at that line gets me every time. I finished RDR2 three times and I cried at that scene every time. I'm going to cry even now while replaying it for the fourth time, I'm sure.
Christopher Judge was a damn PHENOM as Kratos. But I can't argue that Roger Clark as Arthur absolutely stole the category. There was just no comparison.
I am so late to this party but have finally played rdr2 and the attention to detail that EVERYONE involved in this game has made is absolutely astounding, the writing, voice work, motion capture, literally everything about this game is what future games should aspire to be. Roger was perfect and you could tell he legitimately cared about the game, researched and learned the accent, mannerisms, everything make Arthur Morgan perfect, believable character
Where the actor for Dutch is so big, there were some set pieces the motion capture didn't look right. Instead of getting another actor, they made seperate set pieces for him to act out his parts. That's dedication.
Roger Clark deserved it for Arthur and Christopher Judge got the best performance award in 2022 for GOW Ragnarok but sad to see Bryan Dechart for Connor not getting any award for his performance in 2018 for Detroit: Become Human😢 He was the best character in that game but Arthur was even better character than Connor.
The fact that there was so many good voice actors and he won just proves how amazing he did in rdr2. I haven't made it incredibly far in the game yet, only to chapter 3, but it has been so far the best game I've ever played.
RDR2 is also my favourite game ever. I started a fresh save so that I could go back and enjoy chapter 2 as Broke Arthur and truly explore. If you can manage to acquire RDR1 and maybe even its Undead Nightmare DLC, I would highly recommend doing so, as those are two more fantastic intertwined storylines and genuinely fun games to play. (For me, I have those on PS3)
I always loved the fact that Roger basically knew he was gonna win best performance, but still dressed like he was leaving the house to get a gallon of milk.
To win against that much talent is truly amazing, and well deserved. Most of the voice acting in that game was incredible, even NPCs like Gertrude Braithwaite and Rains Fall, the voice actors put in some brilliant work.
I’d say 2004 was the best. WoW and EQ2 came out. 2 games that changed the world. Games probably wouldn’t be nearly as widespread without WoW. And there’s no WoW without Everquest. A vast majority of gamers that played WoW made other games successful when they left. I remember a HUGE surge of CoD players after Wrath and Cata hit. All the old timers left as well. Heading to games like this. Most old timers I’d say went to either single player games or just plain quit. I remember a bunch of older gamers loving Skyrim. Regardless, WoW made gaming cool, then it got popular to game via CoD and FortNite. Now games suck because of that. Too many people to pander to. No possible way for them to make everyone happy but they are forced to try because of greedy shareholders and the Almighty Todd Howards and Overlord Bobby Koticks of the world.
@@TRP_70222004 was the GOAT year for gaming. Sims 2, Rome: Total War, World of Warcraft, GTA San Andreas...just for starters. There was something for every taste that year.
I don’t know why but every npc doesn’t sound serious or realistic in the game they all have weird voices and don’t sound natural this also happens in gta 5 for some reason. The police in rdr2 don’t sound realistic either when they chase you no one else seems to care this is a big problem
@@jrviade85 Basically everyone was salty when they knew you wouldn't be playing as John when it was announced. But playing as Arthur was incredible. That's what they meant
hell Roger Clarke deserved the award just from the scene with sister superior. That makes us all cry man, especially when he tells us all that hes afraid.
I love how this game takes me back to a place and time with me and my Dad, sitting on the couch as a pre-teen watching westerns like Clint Eastwood, James Garner and John Wayne than years after getting to play red dead redemption 2 it takes it to a whole new level bringing you on a journey with the voice actors and actress of the story not just getting to watch it but live it with them and even with Easter eggs or history in it. I have to thank the creators of Red Dead Redemption 2 for having so much love for the westerns as we all do and will never be forgotten as a piece of them is remembered always in this game but for me personally Arthur Morgan holds a special spot for how Roger Clark did the character he played him so well and is truly an amazing actor.
This shit made my day tbh😂 it srsly would've been so cool to hear audience scream LENNYYYY and quiet time theme music would've rolled on in the same moment xD
Seriously the acting and directing for his slow health decline was done so amazingly. At the end it almost felt difficult for me to breathe being in the moment haha
@@revanchist2256 I don't know if the rules are different in English, but in French, when you got an apostrophe, you officially count each side as a word. Now I've just done some researches and apparently, there is no consensus in English... :|
Christopher Judge and Yuri both absolutely killed it in the roles. Both had unbelievable stories. All of which highlights just how perfect rdd2 is. Masterpiece.
@@Legoboy55able Yee idk if its me either but they keep saying stuff like “take off that badge” or “Are you suppose to be a cop now”. Im already on the last chapter you play as Arthur so im guessing its a bug as well
I can't tell you guys how much I ugly cried when The Moment happened. That entire scene just, oof, words can't even describe the emotional trauma it caused. I never imagined I'd get so emotional off a video game. I will never be the same. Love you, Arthy.
What a performance! Arthur Morgan is by far the character I suffer the most with to this day. The whole game is a masterpiece and he is incredibly good!
I am blessed to have been able to play this masterpiece!! Thank you Rockstar and Thank you, Roger, You were absolutely the best man to voice this magnificent character. Arthur Morgan has changed my life.♥💗♥ Thank you once again for everything.❤
Totally deserve it 👏👏👏 Makes me cry every time i play this game and reach to the final mission with Arthur 😢 one of the best performances ever on a videogame.
