Thank you so much! My TR08 came with the official manual, tiny font, black and white, unclear direction. Long live the 808’s. The best invention sense the two turntables. And both work hands to hand along side the 909’s. Hip-Hop, Rap, and Electronic arts consists of these elements. I wish I could have these items for me to become a DJ. Roland TR808, Roland TR909, two Roland Synthesizers, two Pioneer Turntables, one Voicecoder.

U sure u don't prefer the analog Behringer RD808? which is even cheaper then this digital clone? I would say any analog clone deserves an A+ more then another digital one by Roland surfing on old succes for 30years & ignored their fans & users to death all those years

Great video. Thanks for it. I'm very interested in this machine because of my DJ work, especially because it's supported by the professional software for DJ's called Serato DJ Pro. I'm very interested to add this to my setup, since I used to have the original Roland TR-909 (it broke down some 10 years ago, meh ... meh meh meh .. meh). Thanks.

hi, my tr 08 stopped sending audio to my speakers via USB, I once accidentaly dropped my tr 08, maybe it‘s broken but I think the audio problem came before this, any tips to get the audio to the speakers through another method ?

does anyone know how to stop song repeat in song mode? when any of my programmed songs end they go back to the beginning which is obviously no good in a live situation but i cant see any clear way to change it.

Very helpful; considering one of these (+ Boss KM-6A mixer) thx. I’m (mostly) electric gtrst/jazz, modern-jazz, Jazz-fusion, Jazz-Funk, Jazz-Rock, jazzier side of house, acid-jazz, jazzy-chilled electronics ... Weather Report-type to (now defunct) Japanese Trio, UFO-type grooves. Loox like this’d fit the bill but for straighter styles like straight-up jazz, something like Alesis SR-16? Basically, 2 types of drum machine?

Was able to get the first part done and make the beat with some high hat snare etc... After that I got lost, also not sure how you save it after you make your beat? If someone were to own a mpc live II which have these same sounds as samples. Do you think should even bother trying to even learn this machine? Or does that do everything this does and then some?

So when you copy the patterns does that mean it should save them after I shut the unit off? I shut mine off after I copy it and it’s gone And I make sure I’m in the correct parameters Also how do I fine tune the tempo? It’s running 90bpm it says after I clear a set and it’s playing at like 140 sound size I turn it down to 40bpm just to get 90 then I can go lower. Is there something wrong with mine?

I have been following you for almost 15 years, leased and bought several beats of yours back in the 2010's. Congrats on a great career so far. Quick question, do you use this a lot in your current beats? Like do you really feel this machine has a place in current sounding music? Or do you use this more as a nostolgia memior for fun?

Appreciate that Orlando! It definitely can be used in current music... there are TONS of great 808 samples out there, so if you're at the computer, it's easier just to use those. It is a lot of fun to pick up and program a quick beat though :)

Dumb question here but whatever. Not trying to impress. Just learn. So you programmed a beat. How do you shift from that beat to multiple beats and maybe into a different bpm? How do you program the beat to go for 16 measures for instance (beat 1) and then have a different beat for 8 measures at the end (beat 2 chorus perhaps) of the first 16. I want to program beats and record them into analog device. I’m not looking to do anything on the fly. Please help

they both have strengths. I personally prefer the RD8 for it's sound but the TR-08 is compact, travels well and has the convenience of multi track audio through USB
