Shadow will never break that promise he made. We all know Sonic is the hero, but let’s face it, Shadow is the real hero here. Even if he got off to a bad start, he’s still the hero in my eyes, and I’m sure in all of our eyes. All hail Shadow!
This is how I always play when I revisit the game. I really hate the idea of an evil gun wielding shadow, instead I like playing how he was in SA2 and Heroes, so I can give the game that at least.
i love how the camera pans off of the tornado 3 for like 3 seconds and then it’s falling out of the sky after a inexplicable catastrophic engine malfunction
The scenes with Shadow and Maria get me every time. Cute, yet emotional at the same time. I think the commander is accusing Shadow for nothing. Not everything was his fault
This route would make much more sense if you went to Crazy Gadget and defeated Sonic. That way their fight at the end makes more sense. Shadow remembers losing to Sonic on the ARK in Sonic Adventure 2 and wants revenge.
I played the pure hero story first when I bought the game, and I gotta say: I feel like nothing was explained to me/Shadow. Who tf am I? What’s my relationship with this little girl and her grandpa? Who are the Black Aliens? What do you mean you’re not here to destroy humanity? First level you’re literally bombing a city from orbit. “Don’t worry, you’ll know in time” *Proceeds to never elaborate further afterward* Why does this G.U.N guy hate me? Why does he think I’m colluding with the aliens? Oh I’m never going to see anymore of him after this one cutscene? Ok then.
@@GregShadow1 I wish I did. I actually really enjoy playing the game, especially the boss fights. But the game would randomly freeze during loading times to the point of it being unplayable. :/
This game is very ambiguous because there is no clear and right path to take. Whatever path you (Shadow) take, somehow Shadow and friends somehow end up on the Black Comet in the Last Story. I do think the "Pure Hero" path and defeating Black Doom as the last boss is more canon and more likely the path Shadow took because it reminds Shadow of his promise to Maria and his promise to her why he chose protect his people (yes including Sonic, despite their rivalry).

11:06 I don't get it why that in the cutscene right before this Sonic and Shadow seamed to be working together and now Shadow is suddenly fighting Sonic, am I missing something?
Who? The Commander? He was one of the Ark residents and related to Maria, so when Gerald Robotnik experiments were wrong (Biolizard, Shadow and The Artificial Chaos) the Federation Nations decided to erradicate the space colony. He was one of the few survivors and since Shadow was one of those experiments he has some fault in what happened
I like how this is the end of the world with aliens invading, yet Sonic is still making dumb jokes and acting like his usual self as if nothing’s changed.
I don’t get it. This is the pure hero ending and it ends with Shadow...beating the shit out of Sonic? Doesn’t seem very heroic. Plus that cackle at the end.
If you complete the dark mission of the last level, you fight against him. If you complete heroic, you battle Black Doom. It just shows both possible endings.
