I remember nearly gettings banned from my apartment complex gym around 3 years ago. This girl went to the management office to complain about me. She claimed that i refused to get off a machine that I wasnt really using, and that I began staring at her and harassing her as she tried to workout. When I went to talk to the apartment managers about this. Told them my side of the story. That yes, I was on a cycling machine for about an hour and a half, but there was another bike there open to use. Its literally the exact same as the one I was using. Even though she walked over towards where the bikes were, multiple times. Not once did she ever ask me about using the bike I was on. One of the times when she came over, I even asked her if I could help her. She said no and walked away. Other than that i didnt say a word to her. The the manager told me they would look into it and review their security video and decide what to do at a later date. They told me I was not allowed to use the gym, until they reached a decision. They deactivated my key fob from working on the gym doors. It took them nearly 2 weeks for them to review an hour long part of the security, and release. That nothing that girl said ever happened. It even recorded her openly talking shit about me, which I didnt hear, because I was using ear buds the whole time. After everything was all said and done. They apologized to me. They offered me free use of a canopied car port for 3 months. Which was nice cause it was winter at the time. As for the girl. She was told to just be more considerate of other people in the gym, and thats about it.
I still remember when a blind man got kicked out of a gym because a woman thought he was staring at her. He should have sued the gym for discrimination and the woman too.
That's more than an insult to clowns and circuses. They work hard to provide entertaining material just to make actual money. This Thing called a woman is putting -10% of effort into it, clowns are reconsidering quiting their jobs and become the next Joker.
"He's rude because he uses the machine while I'm clearly doing something" Yeah, it's not like filming a lot of people in public space without their consent isn't rude as well
If I'm not mistaken, the gym is private property, she shouldn't be filming in the first place... and damn, I hate narcissists with a passion, thanks to people like her.
if its publicly operated then legally it is a public space, excluding bathrooms / locker rooms. private ownership is not the same as privately operated and the difference matters. that said only freaks go around recording strangers to harass them.
That gym thot hysteria reached ridiculous levels. I've been recently accused of being a creep in the gym. I wasn't been doing anything creepy. Also it was my personal gym, in my house. And I live alone.
At this rate, the gym should just outright ban any use of recording device and ask everyone to leave their phone in the locker or locked compartment (to prevent stealing).
Idk how these girls can confidently film in the gym. I look like I walked through the desert sweating buckets, A complete hot mess. I'd be so embarrassed if I ended up in someone's video. If these girls aren't gasping for air and look tired then the really aren't working out and is only there for clout
So I had a situation like this yesterday: peak hours, doing supersets of tricep cable extensions (with 2 ropes) and skullcrushers. Lady sees me doing the tricep cable extensions and when I go off to do my skullcrushers she takes one of the ropes. Was I upset? Yep, especially since she definitely saw me doing rope tricep extensions and could’ve asked What did I do? Went up to her, asked if she took that rope and when she said she did I explained that I needed both ropes but since I’m super setting and using 2 ropes is inconvenient, I’m more than happy to share the rope between sets which she was ok with. We may not be the best of friends but hey, conflict resolved.
Guy was using an incline bench and she was just using free weights. She could've easily just moved to a more vacant spot in that huge gym... but nah, content.
I'm almost 50 years old. I've never once in my life experienced anything like this, nor have I seen it. This is another product of social media and the way it's twisted people's minds with the attention they get.
People can be truly ridiculous. These Tik Tok gym girls will put someone on blast for thousands of people to see if they so much as look in their direction for more than a few seconds. Yet will also post themselves working out on Tik Tok for thousands of people to watch. Clearly they want to be watched and they also want to be a victim.
Yee ban just ban cameras at this point unless u r a certified professional trainer using it to teach form or workout techniques u shouldn't be able to use a camera in a gym
This is why I'm glad we have our own treadmill, weights etc. Nothing against the gyms themselves, it's people like this lady why I don't go. I'm bigger, and disabled. Would be a prime target, and I don't want that. I'd just rather try to work out in my own home where I can be my own worst judger. LOL.
“Video space”. If you want your own space without other people then find somewhere you can get your own space, maybe start some stuff at home. Like Joey said, talk, I assume she can talk, or communicate somehow. Anyway hope yall have a nice day, don’t let these gym hogs and clout chasers ruin your gains 💪, and remember to stay hydrated (Late heart pls Hei?)
"Exercise at home", that is the advice which should be taken by these people who want to video them selves doing the exercises... But then again, a lot of em would lose the "content" from their video when there's no one to harass... And it would make more sense to be able to have the space you can control ;)
This is why I like the local Planet Fitness doesn't allow cellphone use on the floor (and by extension no recording). I hate going outside to begin with, like hell I'd want to be around anyone recording in the gym.
I think we need a gym pods just like in Singapore, just for privacy and comfort for the people who want to exercise. I don't f care if it was more expensive than normal gym, I need my privacy.
funny thing is recording yourself at the gym CAN be a good thing as it can be a source of motivation to keep on doing the routine, problem is when you upload it to socmed instead of the damn Google Drive for self-encouragement
i remember a woman doing some recording and her camera was pointing to me, i noticed, asked her to turn it off, since it's making me uncomfortable, she denied, i went to the gym owner, and she ended being removed, while laughing at me, i just shrug at her.
Sooner or later Gyms and other establishment are going to have rules that you have to leave you phone/camera in your lockers. People don't want to be recorded and harassed for simply working out. News flash people the world doesn't rotate around you.
Clout chasers are the most annoying and entitled people in the world right now, I swear. Gyms should implement a recording fee or make people sign wavers if they’re going to record because this is out of control.
The one time I went to a gym I noticed to women following me arounds with a camera laughing because I didn't know how to use any of the equipment. I never went back.
Can't you guys see she is posting that video and doing all of these things for herself and not because she is looking for attention or clout. She just wants a private space which is why she went to a public gym.
Joey Swoll is the counter ratio master for gym etiquette. He is doing good work for the public. Please continue doing your thing Joey Swoll, the world needs you.
Yes it's amazing how if you as she said "set up My little space to film" so that your ass is 4 inches from a guy working out then your ass ends up being 4 inches from a guy working out!
If someone says they don't care and make an extra response in the form of a tweet or Video or whatever, to again say, that they don't care and are not bothered by the reaction, they 100% care and are bothered by the reaction.
