Jay and Amber great song. Dancing is so much fun. I’m a 72 year old grandma and last weekend my 12 year old grandson was over. He’s very much into music and loves songs from past generations. I gave him a bunch of cds to take home to listen to. While he was here I put on a song and got him up to dance with me. Showed him some of the dance moves from my day. He loved it, I loved it. He said, “you must have danced a lot when you were younger”. I told him there was a time when I went out clubbing in the 70’s. 😊 folks get up and move and as Wilson Pickett would say “shake what you brought with you”😊

It wasn't one of his bigger hits, and it's not one people think of when they hear Steve Winwood, but it's a great tune. "Back in the High Life Again", "The Finer Things", and "Don't You Know What the Night Can Do?" are also terrific.

Steve Winwood has one of those unique voices...you just know it`s him. Another Steve you have to check out is Steve Perry`s solo song "Foolish Heart". Been suggesting it for over a year...along with Billy Vera-"At This Moment"...Kiss-"Beth"...and for your "Female Friday" one of the best Disco songs of the 70`s France Joli-"Come To Me"...& just for the name of the band you must check out, Dr. Buzzards Original Savanah Band-"Chez Chez Le Femme" (a big hit in the 70`s)!! I won`t suggest any more...over a year of suggesting these songs is enough. :)

If I recall correctly, Paula Abdul choreographed the dance moves for this video. Its constant rotation on MTV was a very good thing because of the catchy nature of the song. Huey Lewis and the News had song out around this time called HIP TO BE SQUARE which reminds this video and the way it is shot. Close up angles and plenty of rhythm and horns. But back to Miss Paula, there is a video you guys will absolutely love to watch and hear. It's called OPPOSITES ATTRACT. Her partner in the song will steal your heart. You owe it to yourselves to be entertained by this wonderful duo. Paula Abdul began her recording career shortly after this monster hit by Steve Winwood. THE WAY THAT YOU LOVE ME, VIBEOLOGY, RUSH, RUSH & BLOWING KISSES IN THE WIND are just a few of the songs that made her Forever Our Girl. Enjoy

I'm gonna suggest again the live performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra) on vocals and Steve Winwood on the organ, and Prince doing a killer solo that you could listen to on repeat for hours and not get tired of it. It was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and Dhani Harrison was on acoustic guitar, looking just like his father, George Harrison. You will not be disappointed. Just look it up on RU-vid, it's here. I'm gonna watch it again after this, honestly.

Steve Winwood first came to prominence with me as the front man for the Spencer Davis Group (Gimme Some Lovin'). He joined the band at the early age of 14. Of course he then moved on to Traffic (Freedom Rider, John Barleycorn Must Die) followed by a very short-lived stint with Blind Faith and finally his solo career. The apex was his "Back In The High Life" album in which every single song shines, especially "The Finer Things". I currently have his albums: Arc Of A Diver, Talking Back To The Night, Back In The High Life and Roll With It. You can't go wrong with Steve Winwood.😉 Peace & Love🕊❤

...and he's had that amazing voice since when he was a teenager singing with the Spencer Davis Group back in 1964.

You can't go wrong with Mr Winwood. Have had the great pleasure to see him with Traffic and solo....just an incredible performer.

My favorite song by Steve! I have my own little line dance for this song so I get my girls going whenever it's played in our favorite pub. Glad you liked it!

Steve Winwood is also a nice human being. I worked in his TN mansion on the lake in the 90s when it was still under construction and he invited me and the other trades people to his grand opening party. It was awesome. He hung with us and we talked about his then already long career and where he was going with it in the future and about Nashville music vs California music, where he landed after coming over from England. If you haven't checked out all his great collaborations, start with Traffic. That's, IMO, his best work.

Steve Winwood has been amazing for literally decades. Listen to "Gimme Some Lovin'" by The Spencer Davis Group. It's an amazing 60's banger he co-wrote and sang lead on, aged 17!
