I have no problem with T-Cogs, since I imagine it as being a sort of second brain. Cybertronians have so many moving parts, especially if they transform, that trying to consciously move each one would be a nightmare. One wrong move and you tear something or turn inside out. Enter T-Cogs, which automatically recognise where every piece is meant to be and how they're meant to move for transformation and other complex manoeuvres. This takes the strain off the body and mind. Damage or removal of the T-Cog would then mean losing that muscle memory, and an instinctual block prevents a Cybertronian from tearing themselves part trying to change shape.

@@PerspectiveEnd I have no idea if this is popular, it just makes sense to me. It has been described as a complex biotechnological organ linked to the brain module and spark that allows for scanning, reformatting and transformation. It being similar to a brain checks out in my book. Meanwhile transformation is only "as easy as yoga" because of the T-Cog, otherwise it would be like trying to rearrange your organs and bones with your muscles alone.

They said that the "pre yellowed" plastic on TF One Optimus is based on the colour of the CGI model. I actually kinda dig it, it looks vintage and somehow reflects the golden age of Cybertron. One more info, the skirt can be lifted so don't worry about the hips articulation. To me, this Optimus truck works better than Siege as Cybertronian truck, the Siege one looks like a cyberpunk vehicle on earth but not an alien vehicle. So getting this guy

Didn't they mention during the stream that tf one optimus prime was going to use silver like plastic, but they got a note from the animators saying that was the wrong colour, wich then lead to it being yellowed grey it is now. (I may be wrong on that front, but I do recall the colour choses being brought up) They also showed that the hip skirts can slide up for more leg articulation.

Thank you for noticing the "pre-yellowed" plastic! I was beginning to think that I was the only one who was seeing it! Also, Vector Prime was the ONLY figure for these reveals that I even bothered to preorder, so the obvious retooling looks pretty impressive to me to. If they made this much effort with all their retools I might actually purchase a lot more of them. Great video as always! :)

@@PlatinumKnight-je3vy But show accuracy for the unicorn trilogy, specifically for Energon and Cybertron, literally meant copy pasting and animating 3d model versions of the toys. It's clear that the "show accuracy" really meant original toy accuracy back in the day. The butt flap being part of the show model was more of a side effect of adhering to the original toy than an intentional design choice.

“Know one knows who Vector Prime is” Vector did not run an ask blog from 2005 (when Cybertron aired) through 2016 (basically answering and retconning a bunch of D-tier multiverse lore on Facebook) just to be called unknown 😢 The top half of his new figure looks nice, which they did just a bit more with the bottom half and vehicle front. I’ll still get him but yea compared to the fully original new molds of Override, Hot Shot and Starscream he got a bit shafted

Hey I was happy to do it. I hope it does you wonders, however don't get your hopes up too high. I think you need like a million subs before this can kickstart careers easily. That's an interesting characterization, because it would kind of give him a place of power in the Combaticons, as half of Alastair's thing is the level of power and intimidation he holds over everyone else. And I too hope I have a mill by next year. That would really help me give better shout outs.

Besides, i'm planing to have another career anyway Also, wilst i would make him an Alastor homage, he's more of an interogator who was once a psichologist before the war, but due to the fact that he psicologically tortured his patients to the point that they look their own lives he was arrested and freed. When I saw the title, I was really overthinking it. I assumed it was about the Robosen Megatron being able to shoot little missiles and that missile hitting someone in the eye. I was overthinking it waaaay too much. And thanks for the shout out. I feel like getting 1k views on the Sekiro combat guide will make it look more legit in the eyes on people looking for information even though I'm not sure that's how people think. I did get feedback from a Sekiro challenge runner and he said it was good.

If Robosen Megs is based on the Combiner Wars figure then while they no doubt should've had the option to spin the cannon around, as is it's actually facing the right way. No, seriously, the back of the tank barrel was the actual fusion cannon and he could just spin it around to fire off tank rounds while in bot mode.

Man, I'm a fan of the Cybertron aesthetic, couldn’t tell you why; maybe it's because I'm exactly who they were targeting for this. I'd love to add this Hot Shot to my collection, and Vector Prime? His cape could use some work, but that’s nothing a little mistransforming won't solve.

The Vector Prime is less of a retool and more similar to a figure that came out a long time ago that uses the same wing set up and was when they used keys to activate sound or light up features in transformers. That figure (can’t remember the name but it’s in my closet somewhere) is so much bigger so the new one is more of a downscale retool.

Man that vector prime looks cool. The only issue for me is the legs, hope that there will be some upgrade for the legs but just some paint honestly would be fine. That mold is one of my favs and one of the few molds I can stand the shoulders but they fixed that here so it’s even better.

About the new Vector Prime, because I never got jhiaxus and I thought that was a cool toy to have, getting some version of that mold in the form of Vector Prime is something I'll really enjoy, plus the new Vector Prime is one of the figures I REALLY wanna get. And on my list of the new Legacy toys I really want to get are Windblade (I already have that one), animated Bee, animated Optimus, Shard, hopefully Sandstorm, and now Vector Prime.

The TFOne mainline has me very excited considering how solid the majority of the ROTB mainline was. Mainline Optimus looks cleaner than the Studio Series version and Mainline Alpha Trion looks fun aside from a lack of paint.

Legacy: United (Wave 3) Cybertron Hot Shot and RID (2001) Sideburn are definitely the standouts to me despite Sideburn’s dodge viper alt mode isn’t accurate. Cybertron Vector Prime is okay but don’t get why they chose to use the G2 Jhiaxus mould, still will get him though. Also stoked to hear that we’re getting a comic Straxus soon!

I’m sure this has been given before but Perspective’s Perspective sounds pretty good. One Prime is based directly off the model from the movie, as in the exact colors so that’s something. Wave 3 overall has some strange choices but need Vector Prime as I’ve wanted 13 Primes for years, Hotshot looks like the perfect update of the og design which is a little wonk but after getting Cybertron Starscream yeah I need him. Nucleous looks so gaudy I love him, I’ll take as many rocks as I can. Sideburn is… interesting but I never picked up Shadowstriker and I’d like to have some guys to go with Omega Prime when he’s out.

For the ankle wing vestigal tooling, I can attest from personal experience and inquiry that removing things like that from a mold is incredibly difficult. My previous job was as a packager and "finishing touch" guy on products for surfboards. (Fins, noseguards, etc.) Part of the job was removing flashing (excess material) from the seams of the mold and replacing the designed in plastic pins with metal pins. I asked my boss why we didn't simply remove the plastic "pins" from the mold to remove the step of me needing to grind and drill them out, and he explained that when he'd considered doing so, he found that, with how little time it takes to reprocess each one (maybe 20 seconds between every step) it would be a far bigger loss to have to redesign the mold, then actually order and wait for the redesigned mold than paying me a few cents per piece to stick it into the rig he'd built to just drill it out in one go, clean the excess plastic out, and repeat.

In what circumstance does he look like a voyager, he seems about the same size as the other Dinobots and still comes with 2x swords and 2x cannons? I only agree with the pterodactyl mode looking off when the robot mode is wide due to trying to justify leader pricing. Regardless, he is still one of the Dinobots that I have been waiting to get and will when he releases.

I heard them say in the stream that the colours on optimus were taken directly from the models they were sent from the movie guys. It basically came off like they were saying blame those guys not them. Also as long as I’ve known him tiredhide has had notoriously bad luck so if he’s used it all up now then he’s screwed

My version of T Cogs are that they fuse with the spark and basically are what store the alt mode information and send the signals to the skeleton of a cybertronion to change shape, which is a bit of my own version of how their kind work with the proto form being their skeleton and it being able to morph with electrical signals then they have their chassis built over that, which in my version a transformer can scan another vehicle but only their skeleton will take that form breaking their chassis and other components in the process. I plan on having my version of the DJD use this as a form of torture along with other transformers. Sorry for the bad wording I’ll return to it to correct it and go over it after I get some food.

6:38 to me, T Cogs are less of a torso organ, and more like a second brain. The existence is really weird since we've seen many times that bots can midform instead of one or the other. As a second brain it can do the job of mass shifting (relocating and reforming). Why it exists as an add-on? We probably won't get an explanation of how the bots are made in the 1 movie but to me the sparks are grown, protoform paired and they're sent to the assembly line for their basic alt mode and tools for their permanent job. Cybertron is a messed up world so the caste system would approve of this theory

@@PerspectiveEnd considering these are aliens and robots, they probably have their own series of involuntary body actions, on top of an entire new mode they get by the t-cog. G1 discovered “transforming” but the cog is the physical thing that they discovered. No way the higher ups didn’t force the first bots to share it for mass production. I guess it’s like putting your entire “getting into a car to drive” experience into your body and being the car itself. I spend hours theorizing all these gaps and plot holes in the franchise, the fact that there’s no official explanation opens for so much imagination lol

Swoop would have looked good with 2 adjustment 1. Shins are thinner 2. When transforming, the robot arms go into the torso and swap with fake parts that thin down the alt mode

I really like how the Cybertron Hot Shot and Vector Prime figures look. Hot Shot just looks like he leaped out of the show and into real life while Vector Prime is a pretty fun retool of Jhiaxus, with his colour scheme and new tooling really making the mold pop. Hell, even Jhiaxus’ wire shins fit with his aesthetic imo - to show how ancient he is, he has some of his wires exposed to the elements whether it be because of the panels there having rusted away or his leg design being an older one that left them exposed. Nucleus is also really fun imo, especially with the deco - it just hits the spot more than Magneous did for me, and I also agree that looking at him he’s got serious Power Rangers/Sentai vibes to him. Would love to see a repaint of Nucleus into another colour scheme sometime down the line - like he’d look sick in something like red and black similar to that retool of one of the Fossilizers from Kingdom.

Headcannon for t cogs: thibk of them like an extra drive on a transformer. The main brain component takes care of basic motor functions and housing the personality stemming from the spark. At first transformations were forced to be simple because they were linked to the main processor. Too many moving parts would take too much time to be viable. The t cog then would be specifically made for making more complicated transformations more viable, allowing for the transformation to be done with one simple command feom the main processor.

Vector Prime is the kost interesting to me on this showing. I like the look, and the original was decent but lacked some posing points I use frequently. If the solar panels are sturdy then I'm a happy man.

Nucleous is actually based on a type of quartz that's kinda milky white and commonly has gold veins iirc

I'm going to say this as someone who had the Hot Shot toy as his first toy. Yes, some of it was accurate, but then unlike our current upcoming one, the older toy KNEW about the issue of clear plastic being an issue, and instead of just letting the clear plastic stay by itself, Hot Shot had opaque plastic to support that piece. As for his shoulders, they're actually too high thanks to some new sculpting. They're lower on the old toy, and through some use of sculpting, they made them look slightly less awkward for what his transformation needed by having the mounting piece be smaller than the outer part of his shoulder to make the way the arms attach look less awkward, something the new one doesn't have. He looks good, but he also has a few inaccuracies that just make my smooth reptile brain go "Something seems off"

Vector prime seems to be mixed like it looks alright and jhiaxus is a good mold but it could be better The deluxes sideburn should’ve been the retool and nucleon the repaint, the white and gold does look good but sideburn needs it more. Hotshot is hotshot they it looks nice and wonder if we’ll get a shattered glass goldbug from it to get a better version of that character

⁠⁠⁠@@PerspectiveEndsideburn is just disappointing especially the car that mode is awful compared to what it’s supposed to be like seeing shadowstrike I was hoping sideburn would be redone better but it’s just disappointing especially with omega prime rolling out. Vector prime is nice the tooling is done very well above the legs but idk if the legs need highlight paint but they look odd, but keeping the wing brackets feels a bit lazy like if they won’t be used sculpt them off

Kinda wish the cybertronian modes varied more from the alt modes. So it shows that they can transform into all kinds of vehicles instead of just something similar to what they already are...one of the few things I'll give G1. That Swoop is wide, but...eh. Sideburn's a disappointment, but moment we saw the leaks it's no big surprise. Nucleon is pretty cool looking. Hot Shot's looking good, I hope the spring on the windshield will make it easier to handle that bit. I do wish they changed the legs on the Vector Prime. Also, they could've just retools one the targetmasters to make his Safeguard minicon since he was actually an active part in the show and weapon on him. I guess the T-Cog can explain "magic BS" in how they can scan different alt modes...except when it's similar to their Cybertronian mode......see first point in my comment.

See I like that. It makes it so they got the closest thing to what they were supposed to be when they came to Earth, tough going by G1 that wasn't exactly what happened with Bumblebee, Wheeljack, or the Seekers.
