This was an attack on the Sinyavinsky Heights in the autumn of 1942. It began successfully, but then Manstein threw into a counterattack several divisions deployed from the Crimea (which the Russians did not know about) and heavy-duty artillery. A few days later, the advancing Russian group was surrounded and defeated, its remnants with difficulty escaping from the encirclement. But Manstein also played: as a result of all this, the plan for the capture of Leningrad was disrupted.
It's a Russian movie. It's about several friends from Saint-Petersburg, who had an unexpected opportunity to make a fantastic trip to the past. So they found themselves in the middle of the first stage of WW2 events on the territory of Russia. To return back they should take real part in actions and do lots of good things. It's a good movie. The title: "We are from the Future"
I just checked it out and as it turns out, the movie only exists and available in the Russian language. To find it, do not use the We are from the future title. Use its Russian title Мы из будущего. Copy and paste this title into the search field. The movie has 4 parts. They are labeled 1 through 4, each one lasts about 45 min. Enjoy.
Soviets fought the Eastern front, took highest casualties and pushed the Germans back to Berlin. If they want to make over glorified movies about it, they have every right to.
The Soviet civilian population suffered the most in this war. German soldiers brutally killed 18 million unarmed civilians, calling it a fight against partisans. As for the Red Army, it fought very successfully against the divisions of the Wehrmacht and the SS. In 1941 they pushed back the Wehrmacht from Moscow, in 1942 they surrounded the army of Paulus in Stalingrad, and in 1943 in the Battle of Kursk they broke the tank backbone of Nazi Germany. Many believe that the Red Army won the battles because it was numerous and used soldiers as cannon fodder against machine guns. This is a myth that never worked in reality, and the First World War is an example of this. This became ineffective with the advent of the first machine guns. The Soviet Union and Nazi Germany lost 10 million soldiers in World War II. All this taking into account the fact that after 1944 the Wehrmacht stopped counting its combat losses. And no one wants to say how many soldiers Germany lost after 1944 and in the battles for Berlin. I am not saying that the Wehrmacht and the SS divisions did not know how to fight, on the contrary, they were the most powerful enemy our ancestors faced. However, the Red Army was no weaker than the Nazi soldiers and, unlike the Nazis, was not afraid of death, because they defended their families and loved ones.
And the red army raped and killed everything in their way on the way to Berlin.. And lets not forget about how they starved their own people. Or, the 70+ million people that the communists killed up til the fall of the soviet union. Please dont defend the horrors the soviets did..
I counted the deaths for each side in the video clip and it was the same by my count 14to14. 10 Russians actually died before they reached the trench. The German who had his hands up probably didn't want to fight obviously (I doubt every single soldier in any army wanted to I.e the Russian who tried to retreat in the mortar crater). The video was more neutral than you think, even when the Russians took the trench the battle was still raging, the Germans could still counter-attack.
@@MydawgMydawg No, it's myth that was exposed a thousand times, Stalinism does not exist, the thing you call Stalinism is a continuation of Marxism-Leninism. And yes, he WAS a communist.
The Eastern Front was a war of extermination. The Nazis failed to learn from Napoleon. Many will argue with me about this. They never really had a chance.
В каком месте он познавательный? Я больше 10 лет занимаюсь копом по войне. А в этом фильме копателей выставили мародёрами,которые только наживу ищут. Сказка для тупого обывателя.
Most of Germany's planes were situated on the Eastern Front, not to mention the ones located on the Western Front were severely outnumbered. Germany also lost a lot of planes during the Battle of Britain. They didn't stand a chance after the Soviets crushed their 6th army at Stalingrad and destroyed most of their tanks are Kursk. This is why the Germans stood no chance. If the Western Allies had to face the amount of troops Germany had on the Eastern front, Germany would have won.
Germany had built 92.000 tank vehicles during the war, at Kursk they lost 200 tanks and they lost 1100 planes during the battle of britain (most of them bombers). For comparison, the USA and GB lost 10.000 bombers each during the whole war. The allies had more casulties and the germans lost just because they were outnumbered.
@@kiwibanana1039 are you stupid???? German produced more tanks than soviet? Wtf? At kursk, the german lost 3000 tanks and spg, a huge number that made they couldn't open a large offenseive anymore
Aiming a rifle takes time especially when your positions have just been overrun and you had to step out of your trench to engage. Firing a bad shot means you have to bolt it and re-take aim so its best to have a secure shot. Fortunately the hero in the story is a mean badass that aims super fast. (the dude with the glasses, it's part of his character development, super good aim)
If you've watched movies about Rambo, the Vietnamese can't hit him at point-blank range, Rambo turns around at the sound of a shot and kills everyone with return fire. This is a movie, there is no realism here, there is a main character, the rest are bots.
@@ds4611 I think he's neither german, nor american, but just another so called russian liberal, who adores everything foreign and hates everything russian. I don't like this jerks. They're completely gone nuts last time.
that explosion the moment the commissar raised his pistol was definitely made up to make the scene look dramatic. in reality things like that aren't always possible 😂
Wait till the girls learn about Soviet WW2 girls and girls who fought in the resistance movements, especially the Yugoslavian and Philippines resistances
@reece45 Now being a Finn, I can tell you that both of my grand fathers fought on the very front lines against Russians in the winter and continuation wars. They certainly never thought that the Russians were cowards.
The Finns, on the other hand, were probably some of the most dogged and determined troops of that era. They managed to mostly achieve a reasonable measure of defensive success against the Soviets, despite having been considerably outmatched from the offset, basically; and then they fought as a member faction of the Axis powers against The Soviet Union, commencing from Operation Barbarossa. Eventually, the Finns also fought well against the Germans (their former allies) in northern Europe.
@@gregholman2431 True but when I was a kid one Finnish veteran told my father a dìfferent story. He took one Russian Pow and shot him cause he didn't like the way he looked at him (and told Pow was ungly). When his senior officer asked what happened to the Pow he told he tried to flee. But he admitted to my father he lied to the Finnish officer.. So I guess war makes some people to do terrible things...
@@bogdansivenko1995 All soldiers deserve to be honoured. Not every Wehrmacht was a blood thirsty "Nazi" committing atrocities. Just like not every Soviet raped and pillaged their way from east Prussia to Berlin.
The most important part in German fighting doctrine was that, if an enemy NCO stepped over the trench to get his men to attack, you may shoot in his general direction, if possible with artillery but you aught to do so in a manner that won't kill or hurt said NCO, but instead just makes him look cool
If you a German guy,I'll tell you the following. When my grandfather fought in Berlin, they met with fifteen years of German girls with Faustpatrons. They were eight. They had to shoot the T-34,but when the saw them, they were frightened. They fhrew down their weapons and cry like babies. If anyone heard the noise of the engine T-34,then he will understand.Grandfather told me that it was a big scared blue-eyed children.NO ONE TOUCHED THEM! NIEMAND VERGEWALTIGT! They gave them the German people.
With this debate on wether the UK or USA was more important remember this, the USA had a far superior industry to the UK, and due to late arrival in the war more time to build up armies. Also, remember that the UK, out of all the major nations who were part of the war, were the only ones to declare war on Germany because of nazi expansion. They fought alone after dunkirk through to the invasion of Russia, and gave everything in the war that they possibly could
Well, yes, these are the same Britons who first, together with the whole of Europe, after Hitler came to power, signed various agreements with him, then surrendered the Rhineland, Austria, and Czechoslovakia to Hitler and then Poland and the rest of the European countries, including France. And in which place, the British gave everything, the Soviet people gave everything to win, because if they lost, the peoples inhabiting the USSR would simply be destroyed as subhuman 27 million people died on the part of the USSR, of which 8.6 million soldiers and 18 million civilians. The British may have been one of the winners, but they certainly weren't the ones who gave everything.
Quite a realistic fragment of the film. The Russians went on the attack and died, but carried out the task! We won thanks to the heroism and self-sacrifice of our brave people! Light memory to them! Only the Russian has the courage to go on a pillbox with a rifle and close the machine gun with his body, letting his own take the "silenced" pillbox! Glory to the defenders of the fatherland, we fought for the motherland! Rest in peace.
The real political commissars of the Red Army were much more decent than they were portrayed in Goebbels’s propaganda and the Cold War. They were brave and energetic people who enjoyed authority in the troops, and it was they who raised the morale of the troops and took command in the event of the death of officers.
I've heard of Brest Fortress, but I didn't know there was a movie about it. Might be worth looking into. As for the cheesy scene: more accurate movies are often cursed with lower budgets. They have to work with what they've got. If I watch it, I doubt that scene will ruin it for me.
I would agree Saving Private Ryan is soul for the eyes. Have you seen Thin Red Line? It's an independent film by Terrance Malick. It has much more realistic depictions of combat, but it's less popular than Saving Private Ryan because it focuses less on action and more on how the war is affecting the minds of various characters.
What’s the problem with this? This is clearly based on realism, as these Russians heavily outnumbered the Germans clearly I mean, from the point of view, the Germans only had a fucking bunker and a tank. So it’s clearly based of logic on why the Soviets won, not because it’s a Russian movie and is because of propaganda, but rather the real thing.
The germans were hardly decimated . It took most of the world just to take one country down btw most russian soldiers didnt have proper training and equipment thats why so much of them died while on the other hand the germans had good training and good equipment.if a german and russian had a 1v1 the german would most likely win
in my opinion soviets are the best in ww2 and in vietnam to they invented lot of cool military things like the ppsh 41, the T34, and obviously the ak 47 and their charge are very funny to watch on movies/videos
yes.the soviets actually showed superior technology dominance on the battlefield for the longest period of time from wwii to cold war.The germans were only the first to empower military dominance but not lasting as long as the soviets. The americans ,have the greatest rate of improvement in military tech and became a military supergiant that would be the next to challenge the ussr dominance over the next 70 years,Although the US only joined the war for 4 years.Japan and britain are on par on each other during wwii although britain started out weaker and lost lots of colonies in south east asia to japan, due to weaker navy and airforce at start.
+Charles Legumes ...the US alleged superiority can certainly suck it up now- the party is over! Russia is back and has got some nasty surprises all over the different military fields- air/ground/navy/space.
+ztesla force makes sense. But the last thing russia wants is a wwiii, which will make both sides lose(as of now, proven by the cold war).Your points remained unharmed though.
And im brazilian so i hope my country is out of this military shit the gun used by the army are some 50s FAL the tanks are ww2 to vietnam (USA send lease) and we dont have all this nuclear power
No it's actually a Russian movie and it's nit based on WW2 it's basically friends that traveled to the past and got caught in WW2 fronts and they have to comeback to the present it's a Russian "Back to the future"...
Also, they had conscription, which means they already had quite a large, well trained military before the war broke out. What kind of country do you think would have no military at all? lol
