Helen, so sweet to be in your kitchen with you. Now I have a new way to cook spaghetti. This is such a treat to hear your story about your childhood. I think you should tell your childhood stories, memories, and let us share your growing up years. We all have our memories of what life was back when. I never thought that we did without as we too has squirrel, fish, venison, birds, wild pig, rabbit, and yes - "frog legs ". I thought everyone ate like we did. Mama worked outside the home and us 3 girls had our chores. You see, mama made all our clothes, had 1 pair of shoes, 1 for summer and 1 for winter. I could go on and on. So you see, your story meant a lot to me. Please please tell us more stories. I would love it if you would make a video every now and then on just your life growing up at home and about the happy times you had visiting relatives. Hello Shirley in Texas, My name is Shirley also, I’ll be 75 in June. We old timers know how to live off the land, I know how to skin rabbits and squirrel 🐿 and other animals. I don’t have to do it now but if I had to, could do it again , well not completely out of it, my son raises hog and I help with them but the fresh sausage sure is good and I know how it’s made. I remember those days you are speaking of since my mom was born in ‘31, so I knew her dad ( my Pappy). Those were such wonderful days. My Grammy was already gone but her and my Pappy were both very God revering people. God has truly blessed you and your family. My mom had the neighbor boy shoot her some squirrels. When he delivered them she thanked him and paid him but then cried and cried and couldn’t eat them. I was there when it happened, I was a small child. Please keep sharing your recipes, I LOVE them! Miss HELEN i got married at 15 years old and when I went out to dinner with my husband at the time he was my boyfriend but any how we went out and he asked what kind of steak would you like? I said what kind? What do you mean? I thought there was just steak steak in my family was just that steak I didn't know there was different cuts of steaks and when we ever did get steaks in my family's lil ranch we were blessed!!!! We ate a lot of chicken, eggs and biscuit and beans and taters hahaha and blessed to have that then my boyfriend asked would you like mushrooms 🍄 with your steak I said what the heck are those😳🤔😁 he was shocked that I didn't know what mushrooms were and that the first time I ever had mushrooms 😂

Miss Helen don't feel bad I didn't know what spaghetti was till I got married and I'm 68We lived off of what come out of our garden I didn't even know what grocery stores was Until I was a teenager only thing we had was a very tiny tiny general store that was in our town and that was the only place my mom and dad went We had a car but they didn't go no water Daddy was always working He worked in the coal mines and then went to the lot woods when I was younger I remember he made €0.75 an hour That's all they paid back then I wish those days was back They was so hard when my dad was in his 30s we almost lost him And then my mother got out done laundry mow yd wash windows clean houses to make in sumith Which my mom couldn't do much Because she had to take care of daddy he couldn't get out of the bed But god seen this through it And I praising for it and I think you're everyday And I just wanna say I love you and god bless you

I Helen I love your little story down memory lane. And I remember my grandmother telling me similar stories as I was growing up. She would talk about how her mother made her dresses out of tator sacks. She grew up in long creek South Carolina. But the nearest town for them was Toccoa Georgia. She would tell me that all the men would get together and ride to town to buy groceries in their mule and buggy. She said it would take them a couple of days to go get groceries and get back home. They raised hogs for the meat that they eat. Then my family raised hogs for many years until my dad passed away. We raised hogs and chickens for many, many years.. Your spaghetti looks delicious. I've rode with you down some rough , bumpy & muddy roads and thought we were gonna get stuck at times ! I've made cement creations by learning that i can do whatever i want to do if i just try to ! You make it alot like me! I use angel hair too, so yummy. And pizza sauce, along with any other pizza type toppings i have in the house & cheese, & then bake it in the oven topped with more cheese. Pepperoni is so yummy in it. We call it 'pizzagetti". Love you Helen stay safe & warm & healthy, God bless❤
That spaghetti looks good. I saw the kind of mushrooms you put in it and am going to see if I can find those to put in mine. Take a day for yourself and relax sit and watch your birds out the window.

When im down and out i have to live with my boss and im her caregive her mind bad she don't no her on home at this point and every ten minutes thinks she lives some were she dont live and im away from my family it gets hard so you help me a lot when i get down and out thank you Helen.
Hi there Helen you did a great job putting together a nice simple meal. My husband and I are the same ages as you and our appetites are small too. Just can't put a lot of food in us. This nice dinner would be very pleasing to sit down to. The only thing I would skip would be the mushrooms, don't care for those. Will have to make my garlic toast the same way as you did, rather than paying for it in the boxes sold in the stores. More reasonable for the pockets.
