@Boba It's not open world... it's restricted to areas. By "open world" most people think of something like Minecraft, a basically infinite world with randomly generated environments.
kotor was released 17 years ago. 17. years. ago. yes there would be a huge market for an open world star wars game, but ea calls the shots today and little chance of something like that being made.
There were a couple of storm troopers that were talking about enemies incoming attack and the trooper said "its a good thing we have the high ground!" Bro 10/10 loving it
I wish there was more dismemberment, or at least more prevalent lightsaber cuts. I want a modern star wars game that plays similar to Metal Gear Rising.
I looked up Fallen Jedi Review roughly an hour ago hoping I'd find a before you buy vid. Nothing. Took an hour nap and see this posted 50 minutes ago. Brilliant
I just picked this up on steam to test out my first pc build and the visuals blew me away I can’t believe we’re about to get a sequel and the first game looked as good as it did
I just finished the game. I bought it with the 70% summer scouts. Some bugs here and there but overall a GREAT , very fun to play and challenging game! 👍Don't miss it!
@@lol819ger3 The truth is that you can replay the areas to collect missing parts. BUT the big miss here is that playing the New Game+ all the weapons and abilities are reset and this is disappointing.. It's a fun game and at this price I think it's worth it.
Same this is something that I really liked seeing remnants of previous known times more than just an easter egg it makes the game feel more like its suppsoed to be there
@miguel ornelas "Just because you find it boring doesnt make it a fact" while that is true, just because you do find it entertaining doesnt make it a fact either. You're butthurt someone didnt like a game that you do. Thats pathetic 🙄
This game was SO GODDAMN frustrating. Go so far into a level only to have to go ALL the way back to the beginning of it. The goddamn respawing of enemies, the unblockable moves, 0 checkpoints, 0 cool combos, Force powers were TRASH, that pause when you heal. Only thing positive for me were the graphics and story
Honestly, not since Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, have I been looking forward to playing this game, especially with the Star Map. The Star Map in that older game allowed you to pick a pre-selected number of planets and go there in the Ebon Hawk. Just marvelous.
@@jooj7980 ..Under the premise that you are a future person in a Matrix bathtub acting as historical people via their DNA or something. It's definitely Sci-Fi with historical flavors.
Knights of the old republic was good but the graphics are hard to get past now, some games just don't hold up well over time. I think people want basically a similar game just more updated
Agreed, those comments are really starting to annoy me cause we got this awesome single player narrative driven game with plenty of content but people are bitching that it's not an RPG for some reason! Yeah, one day I want a new open world Star Wars RPG but I am happy and extremely satisfied with what we got and I hope we see more of it!
It was a great game, but it looks like a potato now. And it's hard to play the rough games from that long ago when new games are so smooth. It's like arguing that we don't need flubber because the absent minded professor already existed.
@@colebeans3145 I agree, but the only thing I would change is the combat. Wiz101's combat was kinda "boring", I mean it's bearable but something less linear would be nice.
@Jackie Solo @Paul, just paul @ Rolando Tillit What’d you guys think after you bought it tho. Would you agree with the video. I’m iffy on whether or not I should get it. I just keep going “I don’t know...hmm...I don’t know” 🤔😆
@@GreenOnions681Honestly 100% I think it's worth the money. If you find this game on sale don't even hesitate. Yes the story is only about 20hrs, but those are a good 20 hrs. Like I said, you feel very involved in the story because of how challenging the game is. So everything works really well except for a few tiny bugs and weird issues, non of which detract from the experience. It is a really good game, and in my opinion I don't feel I wasted the $60.
I totally agree with everything you said especially about, maybe having to much platforming. Personally I found that the game just cuts short but in a forfilling theatric. When you've complete the game; after all the emotion and lore you've been subjected through, you kinda want to leave it be and remember it as a first time pure experience. And as it's not sand box, the extra little ponchos, lightsaber attachments and configurations doesnt seem worth it to spoil the feeling of fulfillment, Which ironically I wish they explored more. I wish they allowed for future character power development at least. Over all 8/10 (which for EA is ridiculously good)
I wasn't a star wars fan till i played this game on xbox pass. I watched this video to see if all the star wars were this amazing since he usually mentions the history.
@@sfbigaming7295 jedi knight jedi academy and both kotor games are pc/xbox games. I will say, in those games, the combat feels less locked and sometimes more fluid, but the combat in fallen order (if you play on grandmaster difficulty) is soooo much more rewarding. IMO, the only way to play this game is on grandmaster difficulty albeit very frustrating at times (it gives it more of a dark souls feel, fights are more exhilarating, you actually have to pay attention to npc mechanics and utilize more things in your jedi tool kit etc.).
One of my favorite little details I noticed was when I was fighting a Dark Storm Trooper he said "I don't like you" and just seeing little references like this from the original movie gave me a good laugh
I only got it recently, but I think the combat is enjoyable and the game looks good, navigating some planets can be a little annoying sometimes but most of the time it’s fun. Dock 1 point off for the lack of dismemberment though
The reasons game prices havnt went up from 60 dollars is because DLC, Microtransactions, and live services. Theyre making more than if they just changed the price 10 bucks. They could charge 100 dollars for the game and it still wouldnt make more than with the other crap. So all that other crap has made devs/publishers super greedy. Almost every paid game now has either DLC, Microtransactions, or has a live service.
Absolutely! It's a really solid action/adventure title with super satisfying combat, witty enemy dialogue, and tons of rewards for players willing to go the extra mile and complete it. The references to the franchise are just icing on the cake.
I literally just started playing this game again on PS5 after trying it on Xbox One a few years ago (got bored and put it down). I came back to it with a more open mind and I fucking love it so far. Probably the best, most original SW game I can recall.
Same! It’s so good! It’s a Star Wars game that is like Metroid Prime 3 as far as the type of way the game progresses, Tomb Raider as far as feel, and the Combat from the original Assassin’s Creed games... Also, there is some Chozo Temple similar areas too
Imagine an open world Star Wars game where you are in full control. You can choose your back story where you can become Dark, Light, or Grey. You can either choose to follow a goal or just wreak havoc on everything and anything you touch.
@@floccinaucinihilipilificat3684 you can't compare them just because they are in the same universe lmao. Battlefront is a multi-player shooting game and this is a solo rpg
@@floccinaucinihilipilificat3684 they arent comparable, they're completely different kinds of games. that's like comparing fortnite with tic tac toe...
Atomic closest thing rn is No Mans Sky, check it out if you want they really did an awesome job at redeeming themselves... hugest gaming comeback in history
I wish there was a "gore mode" where stormtroopers get really cut in pieces, I am not asking for blood or cry of pain but it feel weird slashing a strotrooper and not cutting him in half.
I feel like that's something they thought people would just get over and stop thinking about. But I gotta say it looks really stupid in combat when they just take away the logic of a lightsaber.
Got it expecting a Soulslike game (I finished literally all the notable soulslike/soulsborne there is and was looking for a new challenge before I start Stellar Blade)... It was too easy even in the hardest difficulty :/ I want to die and get frustrated dying 10-20 times in a row, I miss thisfeeling I had when I originally sarted souls games in 2009 :(
What there doing is buying more and more owner ship to stuff like the star war games in then when someone wants to make a game for star war they tell em you can make it if we can smack our name on it and get money
Just started playing this game yesterday after I saw it’s sequel get announced. It is incredible. It’s a single-player action-adventure Star Wars game in the style of Uncharted. It is incredible⚡️ Definitely hyped for the sequel now!
I am starting my second playthrough a couple of years later. This game was definitely a move in the right direction. An older comment on here mentioned an open world Star Wars Game with a Dark/Light system. The combat and story from this game provide a great foundation for that. I really hope we get more games like this.
@@tempest.revoltyt1714 the complaint I ever had about this game is how short it is. also the flying glitch by pressing jump and swing light saber you can fly and return to areas the game doesnt want you too. it also allows you to skip all the way back to your ship by flying over all the game assets.
Dankthony Daniels well eveytime someone puts on a Stormtrooper helmet they mention that they can’t see Jack-shit so there is that. Solved the “mystery”
Hopefully more good things will come from this game. A new republic commando? A new force unleashed? More time for battlefront 2 to be fixed and expanded upon? I might lean towards this game so I dont have to play battlefront 2 to get my star wars fix.
@@AmCanTech nahhh it’s a family account so maybe 20 a year (got dragon age, fallout, squadrones and lots of others) I got lucky no one games and only use prime for Amazon
Jonas Tangen Holmvik I wish respawn would just break ties with ea, there games are so high quality but don’t get enough attention because they are attached to ea
_ TheBigPig _ Yes, they should break ties with their publisher because of “attention” I’m sure that Respawn will look into this very professional and completely reasonable choice.
Jack V I know EA is a big company that people will recognize, but there games are often overlooked because of the micro transactions, if Respawn broke ties and built up there company then people would want to buy there high quality fun games.
@@waltermalone216 Probably, but it's not an original thought anyways. I, and many others, came to this realization when they introduced the actor for Cal as the one who portrayed Joker in the Gotham tv drama.
True. But to be fair, the loading screens throughout the game are almost completely gone overall. So I'll take one longer one than a bunch of mini load screens
@@colinhoeg4728 that is true but in my opinion these load times are worst. I would prefer if it was one long loading screen when you first load up the game but it's annoying having to wait over a minute each time you die
@@sheriffcrandy I've played for 3 hours so far. I like several aspects of it, but it kinda reminds me of bloodborne. It is a bit challenging, but still enjoyable. It has some platforming mechanics which I personally enjoy, but if u don't, then keep that in mind. I haven't gotten all of the "abilities" yet, so I can't say much for combat. But I hear it's slow, but will pick up its pace as you go along. I am impressed so far, especially since EA made it.
@@jacobc1863 i highly reccommend (if you havent) switching to gamepass ultimate if you have an xbox or a pc, ea play is included on top of it olus access to ALOT of games
I actually don't think the game is very good at all it's no comparison to Knights of the old Republic or even battle front it's cheap it cuts corners and hides it just a bad game masked as a good one
I am crying when I think about the time when I have played kotor... it was a time with great star wars games. .. I really miss star wars...and when I see this game...this best friend of Harry Potter jedi...I could cry more and more... because this show me that star wars will never be back... rest in peace my old friend..
"Some company even think this game isnt worth being made anymore" yeah no, i need more action rpg single player game, i am seriously running out of things to play, i need more single player action games.
It seems EA just needs to go 100% hands off with literally every game. Edit: wow I had no idea this was going to blow up like this, seems like tons of people agree. Sadly they won't understand that them just saying "call us when you need more money" is the way to go.
woollimy he’s not talking about the characters or canon I’m pretty sure he meant EA not ruining the game with micro transactions or releasing an unfinished game with dlc completing it months later
@@anthonybonavito1371 If they were to add mtx into the game I bet they would nerf the XP gain then make us buy the skill points in order to avoid the painstakingly slow grind. They *probably* won't though but it's still a possibility.
I'm surprised that EA didn't force Respawn to use Frostbite engine, you can't make a good star wars game with the same engine you use for football and battlefield.
Teodor they did that on purpose to “limit” the godlike feel of the lightsaber against human opponents, other wise you’d be saying why can’t I cut through all of them like I just did that stormtrooper.
@@halo7172 No they didn't. In the game you will "slice" many stormtroopers through, but they don't get sliced in half. Because fuck logic and this is EA's kids game.
