Stardew Valley is an open-ended country life RPG. That may sound boring but it is quite the opposite. We have inherited our grandfather's old farm plot in Stardew Valley and it's up to us to make something of ourselves! We'll take on tasks such as farming(of course!), fishing, cooking, exploring, and meeting the other residents of Stardew Valley along the way.
Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won’t be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town’s most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness.

Thoroughly enjoyed this series so much! I see that I'm late to the party, this video being uploaded half a year ago now, but I had to comment on how fun your content is! I hope you are doing well adventuring IRL and that your animation work is going great! Have a nice day!

I have never seen a quest that didn't provide more money than you could get by pickling/wining the item and selling it. The quest is always better. Jodie's cauliflower is 500g and sells for 400g pickled without the artisan bonus. You get 1000g for Demetrius's melon.

Howdy Foxy, In regard to Fighter V Scout i think the consensus is that Fighter is better. base crit chance is 2% so 50% more is only another 1%. the only time you would go scout is if you go acrobat to use the hammer cheese mechanic. Farming Gems in the mines is pretty inconsistent. the formula is based on daily luck and is parts of a percent for each node to spawn as a gem node, so the only thing you can aim for is seeing the max number of rocks per minute. best plan is to just do your standard ore routes and check for nodes along the way. diamonds start spawning at 50, then get higher in chance as you go deeper up to ~1/400 at 119. in my experience the best way to make immediate deadlines of cash is to fish. Spring Rain days i can get ~15k, and non-rain days i can get ~10k (considering Angler perc). you are at summer 1, so you are not going to have starfruit in the ground, so you have until the 12th to sort out your finances. Summer Ocean fishing can be more lucrative than catfish, but the bite rate is less consistent, so you will get more variability day-to-day. either way, if you spend 4 or 5 days fishing you should have more than enough to sort out the Bus stop. As I mentioned in the last video, liquidating your spring crops to buy more summer crops is likely the best plan. the ROI for summer crops is so much higher than spring crops that the money you lose in the short term is more than made up for. Strawberry wine is 500g, Melon wine is 1000g and starfruit wine is 3000g; up to the point where you can tend them. I wouldn't go more than 1500 seeds in a single day as you are likely not going to have enough time to get them all planted.

Thanks again for your input! Yeah, I suppose it's much better for me to just sell the parsnips straight up to buy melon seeds. I'm not sure what amount I should aim for at this point with time for planting, watering, and making sprinklers. I also don't want to blow ALL my money on melons since it will take some time to get a return on them. I not only need to have the bus stop opened but also have enough money to buy lots of starfruit in time.

@bobnewkirk7003 4 года назад
@@FoxyFernGaming if you planted on the 1st then spent all day fishing till the 12th (which I'm sure you would love), you could comfortably net 110k. After the bus stop your only talking about 160 starfruit, less tool upgrades, less fertilizer, and no kegs. sad reality here is everything runs on cash.

Love seeing your comments and insight on every video! I still have one more to watch in the series, but in your opinion, is it worth it to age wine? I know it makes more money in the long run, but is the ROI, taking in to account time, worth aging the wine? Thanks for any great advice!
@bobnewkirk7003
@bobnewkirk7003 3 года назад
@@xhaser56 thank you for the nice comment. Unfortunately I'm going to have to answer with a solid "it depends". For doing a challenge run like this I would say no because you are delaying your profits and spending on infrastructure you may only use a handful of times. You might be able to work in some casks in winter when you can't really be spending the money but in this type run having cash in hand sooner means more at the end; which is why so much attention is given to the first couple days of spring. With how profitable skull caverns is basically any extra time you spend is literally thousands lost. If you aren't doing SC runs and are on track to get all of your fruit processed to wine you have the time to look for other value adds like casks and fishing. However most runs are still scrambling to get the fruit processed at the end of the year, especially if you went hops. If you are going to go past the first year then for sure age stuff. In my casual file I have my greenhouse in ancient fruit that I cycle through kegs and casks that gives me 40k every week; which is plenty of cash to play around with for basically 0 effort.

Skull Cavern Minmaxing is brutal. Just got done with a failed run and now halfway through another (hopefully successful) run. For me success would be more than 250k in Spring earned. The SC run seems to live and die on 3 things. Be good at mines, be good at fishing, and hope RNG gives you a weapon during fishing. Combat is gruesome at all stages in SC to me cause the dang serpents just hurt so much xD I enjoy the farming style better because it's a bit easier to plan for and way more forgiving haha. Loved the episode, thanks for the upload!

buy the melon seeds and wait to upgrade the pick axe. use the time in the interim to focus on planting your farm for summer and fishing when not doing stuff or chopping down wood.

@FoxyFernGaming

That is a fun one! So far I've only ever married once and it was Abigail. She's just so cute and quirky so that's why I picked her I guess. Plus she seems to love nature. I was thinking about trying to pursue either Leah or Emily next time. But...based on the looks and name of the character in my minmax playthrough I should probably be going for Sebastian hahaha.

@@FoxyFernGaming I have a hard time mentally dating a dude, though I will solicit some blue chickens for my barn; pretty easy with some beer and hot peppers. Watch the haboo twitch channel, especially the 40 mil in a year challenge run. This is not min maxing, not saying you're supposed to be as good as he is, but you need to plan out your strategy better and you'll see for yourself how to finish the mine with low combat skill (basically focus on rocks)
@FoxyFernGaming
@FoxyFernGaming 4 года назад
Just because someone is better does not mean I am not minmaxing. I have said many times throughout this series that I am not a huge fan of rushing through the mines as that is just not a part of the game I really love, so this is directed more at the people who agree. I never once stated that my guide is the end-all be-all. I know there are people out there who are resetting days if they're not crazy lucky, save scumming, save rng inspection, using animation cancelling, etc. That is just not the play style I am going for. Those guides are also strictly for PC users, and as I learned from my earlier minmax guide there are a lot of console and mobile players who are interested in doing some minmaxing but they straight up CAN'T do the stuff that those guys are doing because of controller vs mouse & keyboard. Also...I DID finish the mine with a low combat skill. I was talking about how much I'd hate doing the desert mines with a low combat skill because of how few hitpoints you'd have etc. Again, just saying that it's impressive but it's not my cup of tea.
@msbroomstick1
@msbroomstick1 4 года назад
@@FoxyFernGaming but it's not the being better part or the resetting of days, it's your lack of knowing and understanding game mechanics. Off course you can't be as good the best player and you can't do animation cancelling, but those are just tiny differences (seriously you can check old runs without animation cancelling, it hardly makes a difference). But you should know stuff like exp per crop so you could get sprinklers fast enough to plant just enough to open up the desert as it makes the game so much easier. Personally I don't speed run, I'm more of a completionist so I would sometimes do suboptimal stuff so I could 100% the game more quickly. I'm not saying you should copy haboo or Xianji, but you should know the game mechanics. Btw even though I'm not a speed runer they have always been super nice and answered any questions I had about the code and strategies. Believe me, if I thought you're just awful I wouldn't take the time to write you this long if a comment. To be honest there isn't anyone who made a comprehensive guide to 1.4 Stardew and you could be the first. You just need to understand the mechanics and explain when and why you choose to play suboptimally to explain why
@SamuraiCat157
@SamuraiCat157 4 года назад
@@msbroomstick1 She clearly explained why she makes the decisions she does. While its not as extreme min-max like haboo, its much more calming and relaxing to watch. And is still a useful guide/resource. The vast majority of players are not going to be doing challenge runs like the 40 million in a year challenge. Its stressful and even haboo himself gets frustrated and rages. Personally, I vastly prefer this calm general guide to how to effectively play the game (although I also am a completionist and have 100'd it). There's not the cursing and stress of other content creators I've seen/ Furthermore, it seems a bit entitled to demand perfection/ "optimal" game play and explanations for mistakes. Its not your channel. She's human. There's plenty of other resources available that likely match the criteria of content you want. Move on to those instead of expecting this content to change for you.

As a matter of fact I do know the exact amount of crops it takes to get to farming level 6, thanks. If you look at my earlier guide I mathed everything out and shared the numbers with people on exactly how many of each crop you’d need to get to level 6 farming. I did so much theorycrafting in fact, that I discovered on my own something that is incorrect in the wiki and other minmaxers hadn’t noticed yet either(and still might not have). So, I know what I’m doing. I know the game mechanics. As Mai-Yang pointed out I have mentioned why I’m making the choices I am in order to make it more accessible to other people. I’m not making any claims that my strategy is the best or that I’m the best and most knowledgeable player out there, but you can’t tell me not to call this a minmax playthrough. I might not end up as successful as the series that I did more aggressive mathing and didn’t allow for error. I don’t know yet, and people can influence my strategy, which was the whole point of this series. I feel like I did explain why I’ve made some sub optimal choices so I’m not sure what else you want me to say.
