I spoke with Trent when ordering a Rectifier from ElectroSport and he was a great guy and helped me out. Now I am waiting on purchasing a Stator from them, because they do not currently carry my model. He said it should be two weeks or so. They are a great Company and I will definitely be using them when my OEM parts fail.

It's a pity I didn't come across you guys sooner. I have had problems with my ZX10R. It took Kawasaki here in England 3 months to provide me with a reg-rec. I had the stator rewound for half the cost of an OE part.It's worth knowing that a fault with one of these components will destroy the other one in a short period of time. I could find only one company in the whole of England to rewind my stator!

I know on a lot of Hondas (Shadows, etc.) the voltage regulators are a Shunt style, meaning it sends the excess power to ground, making them run so hot you can't touch them. And they don't do a very good job of keeping the battery fully charged, especially if you run any after market accessories (heated grips, driving light, etc.) I assume ElectroSport is selling a Mosfet style regulator, which is an excellent upgrade. I have one now and it really made a big difference keeping my battery charged. I can have a fully charged battery at idle with my accessories running and still have 13.5 volts reading on the battery gauge. If your voltage regulator has a model number starting with "S", it's a Shunt style and is junk. You want a mosfet regulator. you can get them on Amazon or ebay also. Also, e careful, there are a lot of foreign copies that say they're Mosfet replacements, but are NOT, just so you know. Do your research first.

Hey!!! The excess voltage generated gets wasted up as heat due to the regulator/rectifier , can we actually use this excess voltage rather than allowing it to get wasted up ??

At about 4:30 you guys discuss regulator/rectifier properties. Higher temp solder, higher amperage diodes and "beefier" circuit boards. ...roughly "half" the cost. If I install a higher output stator in my motorcycle, do I need to"upgrade my regulator/rectifier, or can I leave the old rectifier from the old lower wattage stator please?

I watched this video and was amazed at how little either person knew about the charging system of a motorcycle. This was (sort of) a video to sell a sponsors product. In spite of their combined lack of demonstrated knowledge, I did glean a couple of bits of information I had forgotten. The most important is to never engage in a recorded conversation when you know little or nothing about the subject, let the expert talk and explain. If you do engage, always ask the expert how it functions, don’t add your own spin on things hoping you’re correct. In this case the expert might be fantastic at making, designing or modifying the product but he wasn’t a good sales person and sounded like he was not knowledgeable about his own product.

I have a 2014 Victory Cross Country and it comes with a 48amp stator, do you have a more beefier one that is plug and play and if so how much? I have a JL 600 W amp and want to add another 2ch amp 400w?

Have an 03 cbr600rr that cranks but but won’t actually start been doing this on and off for a month usually starts after a couple tries. Today tried 3 times and it still cranks but won’t start brand new battery, dash light turn on perfectly but won’t actually start. Any ideas?

My 85 virago 700 keeps taking out the rectifier regulator..The last one I put on only lasted 35 days..what could cause this problem??????????

eyup mate, just wana point out im totally new to biking LOL. having problems with my GSXR 600 k7 and its electrics. had the regulater/rectifier replaced afew weeks ago because it smoked up n bike wouldnt start. thn bike appeared not2 b chargin, cutin out n ride n tht. recovery guy said defo nout wrong with the battery. how do i know if its the rectifier not givin out enough power or the stator? also hear its a common prob with the k7, any ways round tht problem? great video to :)

I have a 2007 yamaha rhino 450. I love it, but I've been slowly adding new electonics and the battery keeps dying. Added a car battery to the stock (pos - pos, neg to neg), still wont run everything I'd like. Would this be an option I could use? Or anything cheaper would be good too. I have a yamaha credit card I'd rather use, but I dont know if this is they would even carry. I would greatly appreciate any advice or ideas.

i have a problem with my china made motorcycle 100cc, can't charge properly because of low charging, wen i test it in a multimeter without the battery, when i kick start the engine 4volts and 8volts when running ....my battery is in good condition no problem perfeclty 12volts..what do you think is wrong? thanks.

I hold in my clutch and press the ignition switch. The bike makes no sound at all. Dashboard lights are on turn signals are on. my ignition problem is electrical for sure but do you think it has anything to do with a stator or rectifier?

How do you know if the stator is bad I have a bike that's not getting constant spark it just sparks once when you hit the start button

i have 2010 fury , trickle charge on it no problem , i could ride it n it starts fine , but if let it sit for few days and try and start it cranks like it has bad battery and my trip gauge on odommeter goes to zero like if i disconnected battery. weird thing is if i leave it alone sometimes few hours later it will start sometines not . and battery is only 2 yrs old .thanks in advance for any advice or tips.

+Nun Ya That could be a bad connection or a bad cell in the battery. I would have the battery tested first and secure all the connectors.

I'm in need of help on 95 Honda Helix CN250 ...it's not charging. When connected to the battery jump starter it runs fine, when I disconnect the jump starter the odometer immediately shuts off and 1:30 later the whole bike dies. HELP! Im currently replacing the stator because that's what feedback i was getting said to do HELP! The video is on my channel. The first vid. Thanks!

I have a 82 kz1000 when I try and start my bike I have wires melting.I replaced the first wire and tried starting the bike then I had other wire start to melt these wires are going to a box under the battery Any suggestion where to start. Looks like maybe to much volts?

Bill Spalek it may be that your regulator/rectifier is under the seat and over working....try load testing your battery and make sure all connections are clean and tight,and that all cells in the battery are filled (you can add distilled water to the unsealed type,then 30 minute low amp charge to mix) if your main fuse didn't "blow" it may be a real trace down wire harness problem....start with the battery and load test.

I got a Susuki King Quad 700 I replace the batery one day on my way back home the quad just stop no juice to started up , I connect the charger to this new batery and start's up quick , seems like is the Rectifier I guess , my brain dead brother told me the Voltage when is on has to be 14.2 around if not the Rectifier is gone, I will appriciatte if someone know's if there's a hidden fuse or anything like that, thanks for the help guys

does the rectifier affects the engine rev? like the rpm wont go up after 9000rpm when running?

The rectifier should not affect the revs.

Yes. If a diode is bad in the R/R, it will act as a direct short. A diode operates as a one-way valve--allowing forward voltage in one direction only. So, when diode fails, it may allow "backflow" of power from battery to alternator--ever ponder the difference between a generator and a motor?

I bought a stator for my 2004 Honda shadow sabre and replaced it. I still am not getting a charge and im wondering if its my charging rotor? I havea good ohm reading on all three yellow wires, but when I start the bike not all three yellow wires test around the same voltage. Would a rotor cause this to happen? Or did I get a bad stator for electrosport?

Ended up being the rectifier also. I believe they were both bad

ZX10r Rectifier/Regulator/Stator problems??? Mine cost over €1100 to fix on a trip from Ireland to Brno in the Czech Republic. The 1st fix (New regulator) in Brussels didn't work & the bike stopped again just as I got off the Euro Tunnel in the UK. The lads in Daytona Motorcycles Ruislip managed to do the job properly and it got me home. I've used the bike for about 1500 kilometres since with no problems but, I feel it was big bucks spent for a relatively small problem.

2014 polaris 900 ranger. no charging .stator tested good, battery tested good, regulator tested , .000,.000,.000 and .542,.552,.548 , switched leads and tested .000..000,.000 and .000,.000,.000. according to every video on youtube that is a bad reg. bought new one tested before plugging it in tested exactly the same. put it on and it is charging just fine . whats up with that

I usually get around 13.7 volts from rectifier and stator to the battery when all is well.

What happens if I mount a 35 Amp. reg/rec on a bike that originally had 22 Amp one? (it's a yamaha r6r 2010)

You always run the risk of damage if you install a non-stock regulator. What benefits are you looking to get from the higher amperage rectifier.

+Cruiser Customizing Video I have hid lights, and when both ventilators turn on, all the bikes voltage go down for a sec. I thought a stronger R/R would fix that.

82 Honda V45 turned engine off after ride went to start to put away for the evening no power at all. Found 3 burnt connectors coming from regulator/rectifier repaired them. Battery good no electric nowhere lights, horn, electric pump when turning key over no juice. No problems leading up to this main fuse good cant find any other problem visually.?????

The 3 yellow burned connectors are a common problem with the early V4's. When they melt and touch, your stator shorted. It's toast, and will not charge the battery. A working replacement is required. Fixing the wires accomplished nothing. Join a V4 SabMag forum. Lots of information. Fix is to replace the stator, & then SOLDER the 3 yellow wires to the 3 yellow rectifier/regulator wires. Shrink wrap and keep them insulated from each other with electric tape. Otherwise, the bike will die out in the middle of nowhere on you.

I will like to know why does my dashboard on Yamaha R1 YZF R1 does not want to turn on there is no power when I turn my key ignition I was driving it good until I turned it off went back one hour later to turn it on and there was no power going through

installed brand new stator, RR and battery in my ZZR600 D (after having charging issues replacing the individual components one at a time) both the RR and the stator are from the same manufacturer (Electrix) so you would think it would be working perfect....Nope! It overcharges and the voltage accross the terminals fluctuates peaking at 17-18V when the revs are high. I've looked all over for shorts/ checked the earths, but no cigar it all looks fine. pulling my hair out here!!

Riding a 1984 Honda VF 750F Interceptor - battery had died on it, so I bought a new one, but it loses all its energy when I'm out for a ride - very difficult to restart the bike, sometimes have to put it in gear and pop the clutch. Very frustrating. Thinking that it might be the stator ?? Thoughts ??

@itscloudyagain - i changed my stator and also my regulator rectifier. If the battery is not keeping charge then its most likely the regulator rectitfier. You can get one for a good price at DietzRacing, its an online store based out of Arizona. My bike runs great now

Same thing here with Honda, it puts out 18-19volts, overcharging and cooking the battery with new chinese reg/rec. What might be the problem

My 78 cb750 is overcharging, replaced regulator/rectifier, fuse box, wire harness, ignition switch, and points...i've tried two regulators, mechanic is telling me it must be a faulty, brand new, regulator/rectifier...he swears its not the stator, or field coil...does he know what he is doing? Does anyone have any thoughts!

Keep a weekly check on your battery terminal tightness and you may never need to repace the stator, rotor, regulator or all the above.A loose bat term, equals more work for volts thus more heat more resistance a visious circle starts can be very costly but easy to repair. Almost all faiures are from a loose terminal or dead cell in the battery, thus more work for the stator/regulator the rotor (magnetic part) is hard to hurt.. My 90 Softail will run at least 50 miles on just a full charge...... I you must do this to get home orhelp please unplug the regulator from the stator plug or you will will burn up your regulator.. I got down to 6 volts got home , charged the battery to 14 volts and took off to the harly shop 2 miles away and my regulator plug melted poof no reulator! I leared this the hard wayagain.

im stumped my bike is charging under and on my bike you test the conecter at the reg retifier to limanate the stater the book said if i have a reading of 0.2 to 0.6 replace the reg retc and watching a video on readings on my stator are it reads good all yellow 3 wires are 1 1 1 and some times .009 they said young so i replaced reg rec still not charge ran it to ac volts 27 and past the neg to ground now i think i have to physicaly look at it stater i am auto mac and it did just kill so i dont know unless not the right readings on stater the bike is cb 250 nighthawk hounda the book is climer i know i need to buy my bike manual sm section in there thats how they told me to test it sorry all the wrighting but putting out only 12 volts running but not realy disgharging under 12 any ideals?

The stator doesn't turn. Mounted solid to the block.The rotor rotates. Harley's rotor and stator are behind the primary cover where the compensator, chain and wet clutch pack are and all rotate in primary oil. The stator just gets an oil bath from the rotor...lol

I've put dozens of GoldWing stators in and on a GoldWing especially the GL1200 you have to cut the coupler off and hardwire the yellow stator wires .. I'm not sure this guy knows that much .. LOL .. The stator JUST puts out AC power anywhere from 30 vac to 60 vac depending on what make/model bike/ATV ... Most street bikes and ATV's are 3 phase meaning 3 yellow wires on a Honda .. You can actually put different reg/rec on most bikes depending on what battery you have like just a wet acid battery or a gel or mat battery ..

actually its common for the stater to "Spins around in oil." (only a small amount, not in same seance as in crank case) its to keep it cool. try using google once in a while to save posting stupid shit.

actually its common for the stater to "Spins around in oil." (only a small amount, not in same seance as in crank case) its to keep it cool

Stator's don't move. It's why they are called a stator. Not sure what he is talking about but it is NOT a stator.

My question is can the rectifier burnout the I guess what I'm saying is can the rectifier cause the stator to go bad.

Gl1200’s have horrible stators and you have to remove the motor to replace

Most components like cdi boxes are shit they are not repairable and they are filled with epoxy you cant remove.

Electrosport is garbage. Their wires are a thinner guage, as well as the stator itself. I will never purchase another piece of shit from them again. It literally lasted 3 months on my honda vfr800. Do yourself a favor and burn your money, rectifier, and a battery if you're thinking of buying any stator from these guys. You'll get the same outcome.
