Ooh I like the Montreal steak seasoning. Now I have to go out and get a steak or two. Great tip for seasoning the sides. Love that sizzle. Cuts like butter. 😊

You need some good seasoning on a flat top or cast iron steak because of no smoke flavor............you nailed it James!!....even seasoning the sides. Cooked to perfection bud!!

You know me, I don't judge... You can love whoever you want... LOL But when it comes to a nice thick steak like that brother, you need you some high temp gloves so you can grab that thing and roll the edges on the grill to sear the edges too... And stop that steak 5 degrees shy of where ya want it, that heat is gonna sink in during the rest... Either way, that steak looked highly edible ! Great job Mr James...

2 questions for you. 1 what did you expect the steak to be like after 9 minutes on a hot grill then back under heat adding butter? What did you expect when the temp was already at 140?

@@CookinWithJames not exactly because at 6:08 you said you were shooting for a medium rare. that was what caused me to ask the question about what did you expect. I cooked a ribeye on the blackstone last night, butter garlic and all. the difference was I cooked a strict 2 minutes on both sides then 20 secs in the butter turned out rare to med rare. Those blackstones get pretty hot and cook relatively fast.

I love montreal seasoning, its one of my favorites that I dont have to make. Medium is fine for me, I wont pass up on a steak. Im doing some tomorrow, ill be doing it in the Sous Vide to test it out. Good looking steak brotha.

@@CookinWithJames I am doing them in the Sous Vide, basically a hot water bath. But the best thing is you can add so much flavor doing sous vide. Then just sear it off in a cast iron pan.

Lol don’t blame The grill that you over cook the steak that’s why you have a thermometer you left it on way too long don’t forget the steak still cooks during rest time

Yes it does still cook after resting. This cooker is a piece of junk. Steak was good. But none of the other functions work as they say they do. Maybe you should check my channel before you comment. Thanks for watching! Have a great week!
