From what I remember about Nuggets back then AI wasn't a great role model for Carmelo and they spent more time in the clubs than practicing. As great as AI was he didn't put in the kind of work Kobe did. I mean, I know "practice" for AI is a meme, but it's true. If you don't put in the work between games, you aren't getting the most of your potential. But ultimately for Carmelo, he was good in the post in college, and wasn't as good in the post in pros.
