It ended up being his downfall, everyone knew that one awkward landing and everything may change. He was so explosive that he blew up his own knees from his aggressiveness. It wasn’t exactly his fault, it was a freak injury but it threw his whole promising future out the window.

Scott Sterling. That legend blocked so many penalty kicks and saved so many clutch spikes in a volley ball game. Talk about versatile. I never saw him play again after those hits to the face.

@@ItIsZevs Portland has become my favorite team since the sonics left but even before that they were my 2 team. But I'm also a wash huskies fan so I loved Roy before the NBA. Roy was grant hill 2.0 when healthy and could've been a HOF if he stayed healthy and who knows what portland could've and would've done with roy. It's a crying shame.

And who knows with Roy staying healthy there's a chance they wouldn't have gotten Dame because they should've been a better team with a healthy Roy and Aldridge. But let's say the did. They would've had a awesome big 3 with Dame, Roy and Aldridge. Portland could've been a powerhouse with the 3 of them. It's a shame.

I’m 43 years old from Chicago Penny Hardaway had us Bulls fans terrified. He drop 50 on Jordan one game. We thought for a moment MJ days were over when the Orlando Magic defeated us in the playoffs. Penny’s game was more dominant than Shaq at that time

no. he got that injury while 28 after his stats had plateaued. All of these other players were on the rise. D. Rose and B. Roy were on a meteoric rise. You never got to see their best. I got to see the best T Mac had to offer. And that is no disrespect to my man because he had some moments.

@@jonrussell739 he had back problems his entire career which led to knee injuries and shoulder injuries. he fell off at 27 years old when he once averaged 32 at age 23, he definitely had more to give had he been able to retain his athleticism throughout his 20's the way kobe did. he is definitely a what if

@@walterreed5849 you can speculate whether tmac would have been an MVP. Derrick Rose got MVP and at a VERY young age. I saw enough of tmac to know he could have worked out harder to stay healthier. If you were to simulate his career over and over, you'd find he doesn't stay healthy. IMHO, you saw tmacs prime because that is who he is. Kobe even once convinced him practice in the offseason wasn't necessary and he believed it. SMH. Not in the same class as Derrick Rose in the "What If" category. No where near the top 5.

I was thinking Grant Hill the whole time as he was going down this list. In his prime, he was becoming a household name to even non-sports fans. If not for injuries, he would've been another Kobe or LeBron GOAT conversation-type player.

@@mikeisaac1019 he was 31 after the 91season, however, his numbers were 19.4 points 12.5 assists and 7 boards that season, which are the same as his career stats with assist being 1 full assist better, so he was still in his prime, jordan played at an MVP level until he was 35, before his 2nd retirement, and look what Lebron is doing at 36.

Then again, there've been players who were great in college but not in the pros. Check out these senior year stats: Bias = 23.2 ppg (.544 fg%), 7.0 rpg, 1.0 apg, 0.8, spg, 0.4 bpg, 37.0 mp Laettner = 21.5 ppg (.575 fg%), 7.9 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.1 spg, 0.9 bpg, 32.2 mp Hence, we can't really be sure if Len would've actually been an NBA superstar.

So everybody forget about Ralph Sampson. 7'4 , a very good agility for his size, he was even dribbling and passing. and went to the Finals in his 4th year with a sophomore Hakeem next to him. As both of them eliminated the Showtime Lakers which was on a 4 NBA Finals streak at that time. If it wasn't for injuries him and Hakeem would have changed a lot of things in the history of NBA, and seeing how good Hakeem became and was able to win later w/ a superstar next to him, Ralph presence would have change the pivot/PF all-time debate ,and changed Hakeem GOAT status

Doesn't matter Bias is an icon foibles and all. He is a direct competitor to Jordan who at times overwhelmed Jordan. Moreover he is a former number 1 overall pick. Len Bias is a perfect fit for this segment.

It's hard to tell if he would have been KD before KD. Personally I think it could have been. Back injuries are something else. I wish T-Mac and DRose would have been healthy forever. Those were my guys.

Grant was one of the few players that Jordan didn’t seem to effect. He could always get his against Jordan and anyone else. He was pegged to truly be the face of the league when he came in.

@@zona2009 To be fair, Orr and Lemieux are both considered nearly universal top 5 players of all time.. Obviously both would get more debate at #1.. Orr is before my time but I think Lemieux is a better player than Gretzky overall and would have been able to prove it if he hadn't played half his career hobbled and missed hundreds of games.

I know Stephen A didn’t just say a healthy D Rose is a better version of Russ. 2017 Russ > 2011 D Rose. Russ can do just about everything better than Rose; score, pass, rebound, was a better defender, had a bigger team impact both offensively and defensively. Stephen A please stop hating on Russ for crying out loud
