I had Princeton winning in part because of how competitive they were in their two previous NCAAT appearances: 2017 - lost 60-58 to Notre Dame 2011 - lost 59-57 to Kentucky on a Brandon Knight jumper

I gotta say one of the major things that played a big defense was Alloco's defense on Kerr Kriesa in the last 5 mins. To me, he played rock solid, lock down defense. Fyi, he is the grandson of the great coach Frank Alloco Sr. who played for Notre Dame, his uncle Frank Alloco Jr, played for St. Mary's and Frank Alloco Sr., was a top coach out of De La Salle and Northgate in California.

I had Furman and Princeton advancing in the second round, which led to a positive result in my March Madness bracket until Fairleigh Dickinson ruined it. My sister currently attends Fairleigh Dickinson for sports, and our pops enrolled at and graduated from Purdue back in the day. My sister can share the wonderful experience that I had when I attended North Texas as a student in 2021 when our team stunned Purdue.

I don’t follow NCAA Basketball that closely but my boss had us fill out March Madness brackets for fun. And of course I had to go and put Arizona into the Final Four. My coworker who’s in 1st doesn’t follow basketball at all. She literally picked randomly. 🤦🏽‍♂️

And now Fair Dickinson beat Purdue. I had to look that up, there really is a University called Fair Dickinson....I thought it was a joke headline. If you check ESPNs Fantasy page, about the tournament there is a PERFECT BRACKET tracker. Apparently there were 20,0056,273 brackets filled out. The first round isn't even complete and there are ZERO perfect brackets left.

College basketball is different than College football a Furman not going to beat Bama in football one example

Alabama lost to UCF in 2000. To Northern Illinois and Hawaii in 2003. To Louisiana-Monroe in 2007 (and that's under Nick Saban). None of those are FCS, but they're still not big/strong programs and they are valid comparisons to Furman in basketball. Furman football is FCS. FCS team Appalachian State beat #5 Michigan in 2005 FCS team Montana beat #20 Washington in 2021 FCS team Northern Arizona beat Arizona in 2021 FCS team Eastern Washington beat Washington State in 2016 FCS team North Dakota State beat #13 Iowa in 2016 FCS team Eastern Washington beat #25 Oregon State in 2013 FCS team James Madison beat #13 Virginia Tech in 2010 FCS team The Citidel beat South Carolina in 2015 FCS team Portland State beat Washington State in 2015 I-AA UC Davis beat Standford in 2003 I-AA Maine beat Mississippi State in 2002 I-AA Cincinnati beat #20 Penn State (Defending National Champions) in 1983 In 2021 UMass lost to two different FCS teams (Maine and Rhode Island) North Dakota State, an FCS school, has beaten FBS schools ten times since 2006 Eastern Washington has beaten FBS (I-A) schools 11 times. There are a ton more, but those are the some of the biggest.. Especially the Michigan and Penn State losses...
