In the introductions to david chiltons book, gary north, and greg bahnsen i see similiar assertions (in some ways prophetic) that no one will ever truly respond to the post-mill christian reconstruction/ Christian nationalist) in their books that the evanjelical elites would never actually respond to their books, but merely prop up straw men, but that the scholars and those with a concern for precision, intelligence, and orthodox belief would drift toward their books for edification.

I guess some people are afraid that we are going to love our country more than we love God...... But that can happen with anything... Would they also say it's wrong to have your favorite sports team? Are they saying it's wrong to have a favorite country? I guess anytime man creates something skillfully and hes proud of it, he can either give the credit to himself or give the credit to God for giving him the talent and the wisdom to do so . Anything beautiful or marvelous that man creates can either be looked at as an idol, or as a milestone of accomplishment with God's help. Should we feel guilty for enjoying a country that more freely allows the gospel to be spread and more freely allows you to make money to pay others that are spreading the gospel around the world? Guilt induced by a person who spends hours watching his favorite sports team?..... But says it's a sin for you to have a favorite country? Are they saying patriotism is a sin?

The whole everything is an idol crowd is so tiresome. Imagine greeting a new grandma with derision because she was more excited about her grandbaby than Christ. The hyper emotionalism which pervades modern evangelical thought is the death of reason. Everything is not comparable, there is a time and a season for different things and we can't just compare our love of x,y and z as if they're the same. It's every bit as ridiculous as the disciples arguing about who was the greatest, but now the folks who make out every virtuous desire as an idol in disguise are somehow praised as intellectual, spiritually grounded and wise. In fact, I think they're none of the above. It's just legalism where your success is judged by your emotional attachment to God as opposed to say not wearing blue jeans or whatever.

The concept of a “Christian nation” is completely foreign to scripture. While in this world the church will imitate her cross bearing Good Shepherd. Victory will be achieved in this world by means of cruciformity in spiritual union with the ascended Christ. This is a wilderness age for the church. We do not look for a postmil golden age. We do not set our eyes and hope on political reform, but we set our eyes and out minds on the things of heaven. Our hope is anchored in heaven, and it is Christ Himself. There will be no Christian nation because the world hates Christ and those who belong to him (John 16). Hebrews 11:16, “But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.“

"I'm basically kind of critiquing how people always want to frame things with this very subjective, almost like genetic differences when we don't actually live like that and we're kind of drawn to similar people not in terms of genetics but in terms of cultural similarities more than anything." This flies in the face of everything you said up to this point in the video. This would NOT have been the case, or even be possible today, if people had assumed your nationalistic values laid out earlier in the video and in your book. They would have remained separated by race. Many, many Black people would still be enslaved. The only reason we can even interact with people across lines of race, ethnicity, skin color, etc. is because people denied the kind of nationalism you propose. The only reason your Chinese friend in Louisiana is able to live there, develop an accent from that region, participate in the customs, etc. is because our country became less nationalistic- moving toward others who are different from us, loving them, accepting them, not separating from them on the basis of their country of origin, or culture, or external features, or anything else.

We have Christians championing Christian nationalism and not all agree on exactly what it would be. Even Wolfe himself has trouble defining what it would be. Moreover, we have many Christians who are opposed to Christian nationalism, and for good reason. The whole point is, we as Christians cannot even agree, and yet we want to rule the world? The bottom line here is, there cannot be a Christian nation, until, or unless the overwhelming majority of the population in the nation are Christian. If this were the case, we would not be having this conversation because these issues would take care of themselves. So then, the way to a Christian nation (if there even is such a thing) is to preach the Gospel, but we are instead preaching, Christian nationalism. What chapter and verse is that exactly?
@phannybrce
@phannybrce Год назад
The majority of our nation does identify as Christian. Having a majority of Christians does not erase the division of how then shall we live. The Reformation showed this as well. This discussion is what do we want to see from our government (especially since we live in a form of government where we do have agency) and how can God's word help guide these decisions. Sitting on the bench politically until we are all on the same page creates a vacuum of power that does more harm than good. Secularists are also divided and a much smaller percentage of a population. Caring about our nation does not need to be pitted against sharing the gospel.

Matt. 28:18-20 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (19) "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Discipled nations observe all that Christ has commanded us. Since "nations" is plural here, the implication for independent nation-states is clear. I totally agree, our first order of business is winning tons and tons of souls. But then this: we need to teach them to obey all that Christ commands. So we teach them: 1) Take your kids out of public school, which are the bootcamps of the cult of Marxist idolatry. But we don't suggest this, we command this with the apostolic authority invested in the Church by Christ Himself. Anti-idolatry is not a suggestion, it is a non-negotiable command. The entire planet would be changed if American Christians did this one thing (avoid public schools at all and any cost).

You cannot serve to masters. You will either love one, and hate the other, or you will cleave to one, and disregard the other. ~ Matthew 6:24 You have to first eject Christian eschatology from your framework before you entertain such an absurd idea as Christian nationalism. This very debate was settled by the grandchildren of Jude when Domitian sought them out during his persecution. They said the Kingdom was coming at the end of the world. I spoke out agains this in a church about 6 years ago and was told I had the spirit of Satan. The church was wilfully ignorant on eschatology by their own admission. The problem with these people, is that they think Protestantism is Chrsitianity, when the name itself reveals what it really is: An antithesis to Roman Catholocism. Sadly, because the Reformation only went back to Augustine, they forgot that Christianity took over the Roman Empire from a place of self-sacrifice, not of political pull. You are watching Mystery Babylon form theologically. The harlot will sit on her seven mountains. Wait for it.

Does God create nations and set boundaries? What does democracy have to do with such things? Every nation is sacred in that sense that God created them. The form each nation chooses to delegate its God given authority conforms to its peoples, its languages, and its land. Genesis 10:5 From these the coastlands of the nations were separated into their lands, every one according to his language, according to their families, into their nations. God gave this information to a people He just took out of another nation. To instruct them in the way they were to go. It is instructive for all people and all nations. Also, God has a right to dictate how the institutions He created function and does just that. According the Christian Luke, the Gospel is not silent on such things. Luke 3:10-18 And the crowds [note he doesn't say "crowd" but "crowds"] were questioning him, saying, "Then what shall WE do?" 11 And he would answer and say to THEM, "The man who has two tunics [the rich] is to share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise." 12 And some tax collectors [a government institution] also came to be baptized, and they said to him, "Teacher, what shall WE do?" 13 And he said to THEM, "Collect no more than what you have been ordered to." 14 Some soldiers [another government institution] were questioning him, saying, "And what about US, what shall WE do?" And he said to THEM, "Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages." 18 So with many other exhortations [like these just mentioned] he preached the _______ to the people. If as a man you claim to be Christian, yet stay gay, marry another man yet hold to being a Christian with no intent on changing this, I have a right to question your sincerity and authenticity. The same is true when it comes to how you live under the government God created and put you in. If you live like He placed you under a communist rule, but has not placed you under communist rule , then I question your Christian beliefs. I don't need to wait to be married before I become "a one woman man." I don't wait until someone votes before I act like a member of my race, language, and land.

Get postmill bro. Got established the state. The three governments God established may be corrupted (abusive father, sexual immorality in the churches, and abuse of taxation) But the response from a thinking Christian is not to swear off all of it (as the roman catholics did with marriage) but instead to reform and correct according to the word of our Lord. (As in the reformation that continues till the day we achieve the maturity in Christ) It’s bot helpful that the dominant eschatological belief in America dictates that the whole of the Nation will serve the beast in revelation, and it’s always right around the corner, for 2,000 years around the corner, We instead should recognize revelation and matthew 24 luke 21 mark 13 did not speak of the inevitable destruction of everything, but rather judgement so that as kings and priests of our God and Father, we may be Christs body in ruling with Him preaching theGospel that saved us and discipling the nations to obey our Lord, who will have all His enemies under His feet by the will of the Father. Even if someone is premill, i think it better for them to focus on what Christ says to do, in all areas of life, and not obsess over whether the dead sea is drying up or there’s a purple heifer in Jordan

@@doomerquiet1909 I've been pre-mil, then got post-mil and now somewhere in between. The question is about the nature of the kingdom. The state is instituted with the mark of Cain. An instrument of vengeance to restrain evil, but usually does much evil itself usually when not restrained by other states. It bears a mark that we still see today as flags, etc. It ends as the final beast in revelations to whom all nations swear allegiance in awe of its power. Christ and the church are in opposition to the beast and Babylon. The enlightenment idea that the church can guide and influence the beast is proving to be false. The United States is not even a nation in the Biblical sense. It's closer to a corporation gone rogue. "The merchants of Tarshish" just branded "Freedom," promising liberty, while being slaves of depravity. All we are watching in the present, is the inevitable spiritual outworking of a people who slapped a serpent on a flag with the words "don't tread on me." Then their wives said it to their husbands. Then their children to their parents. Then the serpent smiled, and said, "Thanks for listening. Now if you wouldn't mind bulldozing the Middle East for me, I'd like to get back to that tower that got delayed."
@TimeToFlush
@TimeToFlush Год назад
It did become a corporation after it became bankrupt. In 1930, after meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, as a result of the stock market crash of 1929, all western nations declared bankruptcy, and the USA reorganised as a new Corporation. Since that year, there have been no nation states in power in the western world, they are all Corporations. The magnitude of this evil can be stated by the following comparison - what a transvestite is to male and female so America is to a nation. We need a party platform that says this: The United States of America will be declared an outpost of Western civilization and a state dedicated to its European-heritage population and their posterity. It will be the policy of the state to set immigration and natal policy that will ensure a permanent European majority. The rights of historic minority populations will be respected.
