Judgment is a big thing that holds many of us back. We fear what other people think about us so we don't show up authentically or we don't try different things because we think we'll be judged. But the truth is, we don't fear judgment from others. We fear something else entirely without realizing it. Here I'm going to talk to you about what you really fear so you can stop worrying about being judged.

Good points, interesting logical video. I watched as a life long loner. My curiosity lies within the judgement of others, specifically in regards to wanting to be alone. I realized long ago that their projection of only their crosses to bare, should have no bearing on mine. Being a loner maybe harmful to some, but saves others from suicide. Judgement used to bother me, but I'm much older now. Hypocrisy plays too large of a role in the grand scheme of things. The sad thing might be is that I actually hold no value in anyone's opinion. I only try to read them to my own benefit.

@@kobalt77 Making judgments is not a bad thing. Perhaps you are just thinking in terms of making likely negative judgments about other people based on appearance, etc. There is much more to judgments. We make them everyday about everything; like what to wear, what to eat, whether or not to exercise and what, etc etc. It is an important part of life. Otherwise we would be just willy-nilly whatever with no standards or decisions. I guess you could call it by another word if judging sounds bad to you; like selecting, discriminating, discerning, etc. We had better be judging about who we have as friends and who we trust. Yes, it is important to just accept what we cannot control; and what we cannot control is whatever other people may be judging about us, good or bad.
@NenaLavonne

Yes! The only opinion that truly matters is our own. We need to stop judging ourselves, and letting the opinions of others affect our lives. Everyone has preferences and views life through the filters of their own emotions and life experiences. If we alter how we think or act because of someone else's judgment, we will never lead an authentic life that is in alignment with who we really are. This was such a beautiful video that really addresses this fear perfectly. For anyone that needs to hear it today...YOU ARE ENOUGH! So so so enough. Do what makes YOU happy.

@@juliakristinamah I'll say the most important relationship we can have is with the Lord. But on an worldly level, it is with ourselves. Back to spiritual level though, one who has Christ has life, one who doesn't, has not life ( eternally speaking). Furthermore, If God is for us, who can be against us!. That verse alone helps those who believe with not worrying about what others think or how they might judge. But it's not a form of bondage. It's freedom in Christ by His blood and Grace! Out of Love!!! How can you reject that? Your very soul depends on it. Now you know the truth, now it's on you. I completely agree! I find myself thinking about judgment a lot. I am someone who used to judge people a lot (I still do a little bit, but I’m working on it) and I realized that every time I judged someone I did that only to make myself feel a little bit better, but at the end of the day my judgment was just an expression of my struggles. The more I work on myself and the more I heal, the less I judge. Now, most of the times I find myself not even caring about what people “might think” because I know that if someone judges me, it’s on them. It’s an expression of their own struggle. And I’m ok with that because I’m secure with myself.

It has always resonated with me and when I find myself being judgemental of someone else I choose to self-reflect and ask myself what it is about myself I'm struggling with that I am projecting onto that other person. Thank you Julia Kristina, for your welcome to this “amazing” corner of the internet. For me this is another very supportive piece delivered in your usual, very comprehensive manner, although this time, judging,and /or feeling judged by others, is not something that I struggle with particularly. For me it’s a reassuring piece at a time when I’ve being going through some intense self scrutiny, rebuilding my self and my sense of self. It’s helpful to me because I find it grounding. Sort of, yep, that’s a piece of me that I recognise, I tend to not judge. I am 61 and I am on the right side now of removing myself from what has been perhaps more than 2 decades of gaslighting, a word that I’d not even heard of until about 6 months ago, so up until then impossible to come to terms with. You’re short videos have been extremely helpful to me, and I’m very grateful, so thank you. I am now looking at who I grew up as before my sisters, and those who support them, had scapegoated me and in doing so destroyed my existence and sense of self and reality, and looking so in order to remind myself of who I am. All such reminders are very helpful.

This is exactly what I needed, and my daughter needed to hear. We have been going through some rougher points in our relationships, as a family. I have noticed a lot of projection/judgements verbalized towards me that reflect her issues, she really holds onto to the mentality of being perfect, saying things and doing things perfectly, but she doesn't understand how to connect these things she's pointing at and about are not about me, but her insecurities in her own thinking and believing. Your video, just spoke simply to me, exactly what my husband and I are trying to facilitate with our teens, our family. I know children pick up things from those who are around them or got used too, and I know she doesn't know what she is meaning at this time. also she's transitioning from tween to teen, so everything is really overwhelming, but this video really clarified exactly what we are working on with ourselves and each other as whole family. Thank you for putting it in with such graceful empowering perspective, really integrated the truths and all the connections.. I will be watching this video with my family, later this evening at our daily family discussions, my kid's are very wise and catch on to much of this adult stuff... fyi my son Dominick 13, Scott 14, and I like watching your video's together, it makes so much sense, and its great way for all of us to communicate better with each other, and ourselves... Gives me the power to work through my 'stuff' and not get 'stuck' in worrying about what others are judging me on! So powerful, Thank you! 👍

Great video! This is one of my biggest struggles. It feels so terrible worrying about what other people think about me. It causes me more stress than I need to feel. Recognizing that judgments has nothing to do with us, but more about themselves stood out to me. The saying of "if you treat someone a certain way it says more about them than it says about us" rings true. This is something that I want to work on, knowing that I only have one life to live and I don't want anxiety to get in the way of life.

Oh my god. This video has literally just saved me from many more years of feeling like I can never, ever make real connections with anyone and hide forever when the fear of being judged comes from what I struggle with. That point was spot on for me.

I like that, " it's not about being a better person...... it's about growing"! This video rings true to me and my self judgement. I worked through a lot of insecurities over the years but know I have more work to do. Thank you Julia for your impactful videos. I am truly blessed to have found you!

I love the insight into judgment. As a nurse I tell people that also but Julia helped me understand what my intuition knew. Judging others is similar to sliming another with wounds we've slimed ourselves with. It's Misery craving company. Once we build up our bodies, minds & spirits is when we can encourage others to be more mindful and attract to those who do not judge & slime.

Hello Julia Kristina! This is Itika from India. I graduated in B.A English(honours) and have always not just loved but also grew surrounded by philosophy, psychology and literature during my three years of bachelors. I am back at your channel now after I guess a year and half, and I am so-so-truly-truly glad that I am back here irrespective of the fact I am not dealing with any wellbeing issues right now. I love watching your videos irrespective of being mentally really well and having a self regulating life after these 1.5 years. I believe that I learn from your videos not just for my own well being, but also for the people I love. I am so glad I came back to your channel

I understand exactly what you are saying-completely, but some times it's very difficult because the criticisms that I face are not just "imagined" or "exaggerated", but my family scapegoated me so much and overtly blamed me for everything. I had a cousin tell my Mother to disinherit me because I didn't come home very much and stuff like that. It's difficult when the criticism is very real, overt, mean and aggressive so it's really not so easy to perhaps think their criticisms are not nearly as bad as I imagine. But yes, the point I think you are making is that if your sense of self is strong enough, you can deal with it. I do also believe that insecure people try to feel better about themselves by viciously even attacking others.

I so needed to hear this KJulia, I'm recovering from a TBI as a direct result of my addictions. This injury Definitely brought me to a new bottom, but ironically, what people would call a "setback" was in reality, a springboard into new growth, and I still got a long way to go. Im on your waitlist :]
