I think we love Eddie because of his honesty. He is honest when he is scared and when he is afraid, and he is honest in his bravery.

You know a show is legendary when they make you cry over a character they introduced just 9 episodes before their death, this show is a masterpiece period.

They should give a raise to whoever hired the actor. He’s the one that brought this character to life

We all love Eddie because he embodies what most of us were in high school. The nice kid who had the long hair, the metal band shirts, and looked like the loner. Loved by those who knew him, but mostly not seen by anyone else, and judged by those who needed to play the part to “fit in”. Eddie was sweet, honest, kind but mostly judged or ignored. His character was so well written, and many of us growing up can resonate with the character. Such an impactful character, maybe we can take a lesson and look at how we treat others.

Duffers definitely didn't expect that Eddie would be so popular. Only one season and he's already a fan favorite.🤘🏻

It’s not everyday that you see a character as universally loved as Eddie, but damn if it isn’t amazing to see.

Eddie had a so good, pure and brave heart. He was true to himself and to everyone, all the time. That's why we all love him.

The sad thing is most people wouldn’t have time for Eddie in real life. I saw it all too often growing up and still see in in adult life. Too many people judge a book by its cover.

Even though he was only in the show for one season, he’s forever going to be one of best characters in the show. We miss you Eddie.

Don’t think there has been a character as loved as Steve until Eddie. Many of us feel like the outsider in life and Eddie taught us that that’s okay.

I honestly did not expect to cry as much as I did over Eddie’s death. Gaten’s (and Joe’s) acting was phenomenal during that entire scene!

Eddie is a legend and will be a beloved tv character for many many years. I just hope they somehow clear his name in s5 and the public finds out he was actually a hero, he deserves it.

Eddie deserves this so much. The fact that only Dustin, and none of the gang, mentioned his sacrifice at the end didn’t sit well with me.

I know the real Eddie. He was our DM back in the 80's. A true metal head, played guitar in a band, and painted mini's like a demon. Props to you dude, you were the rock our little 'hellfire club' kept our course on. Naturally these days we've all gone our seperate ways and the "Essex" club is all but forgotten, but at least one of us remembers.

The part in the upside down where Eddie is playing his guitar bring over the Demi bats is one of the coolest in season 4! Anything with rock and action both in one I love for some reason!

it’s unbelievable how he became so special and important for everyone without being the main character… finally joseph is getting the love and the “fame” he deserves

The character that everyone loves killed off only to be immortalized by fans. Legendary.

eddie’s character progression is so incredible. he was seen as a freak, he ran away, but he made friends who accepted him as he is, and then, he stopped running. he turned around, he looked back, and he could have seen people who judged him, who avoided him, but he saw people to save. and he gave his life for it. the fact that he decided to fight for people who didn’t even consider him is honestly so brave of him and nothing will ever change that.

Words cannot express how much Eddie will be missed. He carried Season 4 on his back. Excellent character development and phenomenal performance. Season 5 and the show in general will not be the same. Eddie was just too good of a character to drop off the show. We need more Eddie.

One of the best written characters we have seen. And that's saying something with a series this damned good. Eddie was the best and he will live on forever in all of our hearts.

Goddamn Eddie was such a well written character. Through the acting and writing, you can tell he’s not just some stereotypical geek who loves metal. He has this side that shows that he’s an amazing person. It’s a shame that people in the Stranger Things universe doesn’t get to see that side of him. Rip Eddie man, he won’t be forgotten.

Eddie wasn’t someone I expected to just absolutely vibe with.

I literally lost when dustin justifies Eddie's death to his uncle with a pretty guilty expressions on his face. Although he was not responsible for Eddie's death, but still he was proud to have a partner like him. That scene was incredible

Better to burn out than fade away! Eddie won me over at the D&D scene when he bowed and opened his arms in defeat with a proud smile. I love every season and pretty much all the acting talent but the winning duos of season 4 were definitely Eddie & Dustin and Joyce & Murray.

You what’s insane? I have NEVER seen a character get so much love in so little time ever. Normally a character grows on you over the course of time but Eddie Munson was a beloved character since episode 1. Dammit

I never related with a character so hard like I do with Eddie. You guys shattered me, man... Such a beautiful character. Us "freaks" are always too fast to be judged before knowing anything about us. So glad that this show is popular so people could see this and be more open to people they don't understand by first look.

Eddie made season 4 so worth the wait for me. Honestly the whole cast in this season was bomb

I think Eddie was such a loveable character because of the "spiderman" complex. Spiderman self sacrifices over and over again, yet is hated by many people because of the Daily Bugle. Eddie, was a funny, charismatic, hero origin story. We sympathized for his plight, and cheered for his victories. When he sacrificed himself it was like loosing a hero. Someone you routed for, you wanted them to win. But they never did. So the injustice by the characters in the show towards Eddie, is met with justice from the fans of the show. At the end of the day.... Eddie is a made up character and his face is on someone's lawn. That's awesome. lol

In such trying, polarizing times I think we can all agree it was Eddie’s year.

What can I say; his instant fame and popularity are astounding, but he deserves it! We've never known such a silly, daring, while still considerate and loving character, and the energy he introduced to the series snatched our hearts and ran with them!! 💕💕 We love you, Eddie 🎸🔥

I feel that the reason people connected so well with him is that scene at the picnic table with chrissy- where they defy each other's expectations, because that is the quality of the kind of person that people keep beyond arms reach, too afraid to know the real person, and there is so much of that in each of us

Joseph Quinn made it. He definitely gone through tough times auditioning on other projects. The impact he had in this show is amazing.

Its a shame that they killed him off, I know writers have to make tough choiches but i feel like Eddie was really something new in the show, he really added something unique and thats why he became everyone's favorite in linke 5 episodes and with a little amount of screentime. I think it was a mistake, as much as I LOVE Steve or Jonathan I feel like they're only there to be Nancy's love triangle. Don't get me wrong, especially Steve, is an amazing character who had an amazing narrative arch. But he's there only as comic relief/babysitting and now to re-ignite the spark with Nancy. One of them between Steve and Johnatan will clearly die in S5, maybe they could have anticipated that in S4 by letting Eddie live...

I really hope Joseph Quinn understands how important his character is too a lot of people, he was quickly becoming my personal favourite. I hope, somehow, he isn’t gone.

Eddie shows just how much you can develop a fully flushed-out character in one season. Wow...

He should come back in some post apocalyptic way, like he just passed out and he shows what a bad ass he is for surviving on the other side for so long.

Joseph killed it, he really gave us the best version of Eddie. I'm so happy that he is getting all the recognition he deserves and I hope somehow the Duffer brothers will bring him back for next season. We simply can't get enough of Eddie.

The scene where eddie's uncle came to put a missing poster for eddie , where dustin told him what happened to eddie and where he started crying, was the most emotional scene for me, couldn't control myself there !!🥺

Eddie just might be the best character to come out of Stranger Things, and although it's sad to see him go, it solidifies his characters legacy. I look forward to his future cameos.

Probably the most inspiring thing about Eddie is he wasn’t perfect… he was just human, with good and bad things as everybody else… and then, his development, demonstrated by his bravery at the very end… his ability of moving forward to do the right thing in spite of all his fears. That’s inspiring.

Don’t show us “Eddie Munson 4ever” and not give us Eddie Munson forever, Netflix. I don’t care if 11 needs to team up with Dr. Strange and the time stone to make it happen, but bring Eddie *and* Chrissy back.

The fact that I’m actually depressed over Eddie is insane I’ve never loved a character like this let alone more than myself Joseph did an AMAZING job playing him ❤️

when they say home is not a place, it's feeling or person... Eddie is like that, even he's not in the show anymore, but all awesomeness and feeling still there, always.

I think Eddie made an impact for such a small amount of time because most of us have an Eddie in our life, so we can relate to the character as a friend of ours. Stunning delivery on the actor's part and great writing!

Thank you for creating a character that didn’t fit in. A character that was slower in school and seen as a weirdo. Into fantasy games & books and an unpopular music genre. A character willing to do anything for his friends even if it meant disregarding himself. Thank you for showing so many people it’s okay not to be like everybody else ❤

Best moments of the final episode: 1. Eddie trying to fight an army of bats instead of running and hiding. 2. Hopper killing a demogorgan with a sword after fire and bullets failed. 3. Eleven overpowering Vecna after Mike says that he loves her, as if Max dying in front of her was not enough.

Eddie is such a good character. I love rock and my dad grew up listening to Metalica.

For those wondering why all the hype, here's my take: 1.- Eddie is just a very well-written character. A LOT of people identified with him (outsiders, metalheads, "weirdos", etc). Despite all of his flaws we get to see the bright side of him. He befriens with people very diferent from him and seems to care for them. Deep down inside he had charisma. 2.- Most viewers empathized with him because everybody saw him as the bad guy when he really wasn't. The audience was very saddened by the fact that he died a hero and never got to prove his innocence. Maybe this is all cliché but it worked wonders. 3.- Master of Puppets is considered by many to be Metallica's best song. A very wise move by the Duffer bros for including one of the greatest heavy metal bands in the series. 4.- Joseph Quinn actualy PLAYED the guitar in that scene (except for the solo)... something all of us guitar players can truly appreciate. He was the perfect fit for that role. I think no other actor could've done it better. Just my humble opinion. Cheers

I bet some of the original cast are wondering how Eddie has become so iconic after just one season on the show, Joe is an awesome actor and portrays this character with such passion and charm that it was inevitable that he would become so popular, he may have only been on it this season but he is the heart of the show as he captured so many with his outstanding performance.
