Finally, some people need to see this video. Many BMW owners say that the E92 will beat the Mustang which has been proven false. some drivers may beat other drivers, but damn, Ford did a hell of a job to make a 35K car perform this well and get great mpg.

All my friends that own BMWs always have issues with it. They seem to break down a lot. And it's not because they don't take care of their cars, they just seem to break down a lot.

Mustang any day of the week. M3's and M5's are over priced. You buy them for half the price and slowly throw another 15- 20g's on them and you have yourself a SUPERCAR! I have a "14" track pack moderately modified and blew the doors off a M5..

The Mustang was braking during the drag race, refer to 2:21 , but it still appeared to come out slightly ahead, even though it was considered a tie during that race.

@choosenaddict Led tail lights pulse unlike incandescent lights, sometimes the off pulse and the cameras frame rate sync up and it looks like they are flashing.

@Topfueltrooper then how do you explain the other track video where it comes in a tenth of a second behind the m3? with next year's model having better internals and a power bumper with nothing changing in the M3... that's something not to be taken lightly. I love both the Mustang and the M3 btw, but I think you're just being close-minded.

Mustang all the way its an amazing 5 liter muscle car with plenty of speed and isn't crazy expensive like a BMW

m3 is a fast luxury car for the richer folks. mustang is for anyone who wants a fast car. saying that you putting an extra 27k into a mustang to make it equal to the amount of a bmw is like putting 25k into a honda civic to make it cost as much as a mustang. if that was the case you'd have a 8-9 second civic.

@Alikhazaal not necessarily... Same driver in two manuals is going to be closer, than two automatics mapped differently, smg is a big advantage as well

Not every driver cares about a 1/4 mile race... there's no comparison mustang = plastic ( low quality) m3 = well built , class luxury

its not brake lights is the way the camera reacts to led lights it makes them look like the a flickering

@acs4llc what understeer? u say that like the ///M3 has handling issues. btw, i'm not talking aftermarket. but if u added aftermarket shocks to an ///M3, i'm pretty sure it would be better than an aftermarket mustang. i mean if u add the same amount to an ///M3 as the Mustang, the ///M3 will be better because its already better. thats like adding a cup of water to another cup vs. adding a cup to a half cup.

@hazem203 Yeah I drove an ///M3 CP and it handled great but just not fantastic. The Mustang just has damping issues that the Boss 302's adjustable shocks correct. KONIs will do the same. The Mustang GT's shocks are just too hard for the street and too soft for the track but funny how it keeps up with the ///M3 CP despite this. Mustangs have always out handled ///M3s thanks to the aftermarket. Then again, how would you fix the ///M3's understeer?

Second run you can see the mustang´s brake lights going on! was he purposely slowing down!?!? minute 2:22 anyone else notice that? BTW, I love how bmw fanboys simply can´t accept their car lost, and yes, I can afford both (together) before someone says something stupid like that. I´ll take audi over bmw any day, and mustangs are hot not matter what, so are BMW but they have become overated and auto magazines just make it too obvious the fact that they´re pushing the brand.

The BMW M3, Ford Mustang GT, Mercedes Benz C-63 AMG, and the Audi RS5 I feel can all be compared in one class in terms of performance. Don't hate the rivalry between the different manufacturers as it's what keeps these brands producing brilliant products! Please comment if I missed a model...

All you euroturds are bagging on the mustang. It isn't 1980 any more, the US makes great cars. The mustang looks better, has faster acceleration, is more reliable and cheaper to insure.

agreed. Matter of fact, hopefully by mid august, I'm driving to brenspeed in indiana to get a Roush TVS 2300 installed. at 7 pounds of boost, I should be seeing 550 ish at the wheels thats over 620 ish at the crank and that level of boost is chump change for the coyote.

I had a S5, than a S4 when the family came along. Im picking up my 2012 Mustang GT tomorrow. For a normal family man you cant beat it!

I noticed that although the Mustang GT has ~100lb-ft more, it has shorter gear ratios. On the 2nd race, both engines can be heard, one on each headphone (along with the tires spinning during each gear change), and, by the time that race finishes, the Mustang GT is halfway done with the 4th gear while the M3 is just shifting into 4th gear. The ratios of the manual M3 are tremendously long, you could fit the Mustang GT ratios in the M3 E92 and have a quicker car and an even more lively engine. The long ratios steal something from the character of that high-revving 4.0 V8!

@MrCrazyFreerunner I owned a Mustang GT from 2000 to 2010, and I loved that car. The sound when you step on the gas, the instant response, the aggressive look it has coming at you, and for the price, can't beat it. And in 2015 I believe, they finally get rid of the live rear axle which hinders it's track performance. The Mustang has performance down pretty good. But Ford has to work on fit and finish. That's where they don't compare. Maybe that changes in 2015 too. I'd say it's recommended.

@slaygaming392 well, honestly it all depends where you are. certain places are more excited by certain cars. people like whatever they like, and that's just a fact of life.

I've had both worlds a 2002 BMW 5 series and two editions of the mustang 2004 and 2008. I love how well built are BMWs, they are like mac version of cars, and you have a specific kind for every purpose...except for heavy duty. Mustangs on the other hand I hated since I have always love the 1967 fastback and the next generations after the 1969 were just awful, but when I got that 40th anniversary V8 convertible and tried it just because my dad said give it a chance...Man! I friggin loved it! And don't get me started with my 2008 I fuckin love it, especially the resemblance to my favorite 1967! Now to the point I would not buy a sports car that I would get bored seeing, BMW has such great designers that each new version makes the previous forgetful, that will never happen to a 1967 mustang and the 2005-2013 versions. Also if gas isn't an issue the coyote engine is magnificent piece of work, I am planning to replace my current engine for a ford racing jet cobra which is $24k with a tremec transmission. I already have replaced the suspension for high performance torque IFS and IRS, and took off some weight replacing the doors, fenders, hood and trunk for carbon fiber, that worked marvels on my weight distribution, this upgrades will build up at approximate cost of $40k and give me 700hp+.The thing is that I would rather have a toy I know I can turn into a beast and keep it for a long term knowing I will never get bored with it, instead of spending another $60 on a new BMW. Also, in the US not many mechanics are willing to touch a bimmer, but they love mustangs, that is why I haven't bought another one. I do drive a smart during the week to save on gas and use my mustang on the track.

@Kurama66 M3 will last more than 2x longer. meaning once u buy ur 2nd mustang since ur 1st mustang is starting to break down u can keep the m3 longer than both of those which in the end saves u money
