Jonathan was very smart drinking water at the party instead of beer and I like how he explained that he and Jordan were not being honest because they didn’t want to hurt his feelings and he does have a point Clark cannot expect the boys to put they’re lives on hold until he is free it wouldn’t be fair
The lighting, music and conversation are very good. They all convey that Clark and Jon are not close. Having Jon walk away with Clark standing there shows that Jon is over the lack of positive attention and that he's moved on. Brilliant cinematography.
And that right there is why Clark needs to make time with Jonathan just as much as he's training Jordan, because soon Jonathan's going to turn 18, he's going to leave home and go into the world, and it's one thing that Lois has a relationship with both sons regardless of one having powers and the other doesn't (yet). Clark really needs to do better in the final season.
He loves his son, there’s no mistaking it, it’s just the relationship has unfortunately devolved to him feeling cornered all the time by his mom and dad vs his brother who gets different treatment
What kind of question is that? Jon's a teenager! It's completely normal, even expected, for him to want to hang out with his girlfriend instead of his dad.
The point was that Clark isn't around much so the boys couldn't just wait and drop everything the moment he has free time. They understand he has an important job but they also have their own lives. The mistake on their part was lying to him even if it was to spare his feelings.
