I love how everyone's focused on him surviving the trip to the sun and no ones confused how they're having a friggin conversation in the vacuum of space lmao
In the comics after the death of Superman it was found that Superman is not invulnerable as much as he has a shielding aura that we can't penetrate, even as he laid dead. They took that information and created the kid superman named Superboy that could extend his aura to carry things. it is possible they borrowed this aspect to protect superman at his weakest
1) I guess Superman already had some of his powers back because he IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SUN AND ISN'T DYING. 2) Tal and Superman hugging it out and saying "I love you." The character development! I do hope that Tal works to make amends with all the other people he hurt, though.
My personal theory is that Kryptonians still have some differing traits to regular humans independent of how much solar power they have absorbed. Which is why not only are they not immediately dying, but also talking in space where there is literally no air to carry their speech. Could write it off as a plot hole meant to serve a more emotional moment, but I like to think there's just more to Kryptonian biology than is really elaborated on the show. And I 100% agree, I love that the two are really getting along now. It honestly really warms my heart up
@@neutronium0 Oh yeah I think they probably have some different traits too, just commenting on the fact that they said his cells were "normal" in the previous episodes but that didn't factor into him going right in front of the sun lol. And yeah, on the speaking in space, I also think it's a plot hole OR that their super hearing is just so good that they can hear the muscles moving so no sound in space doesn't matter.
I just love Clark and Tal-Rho together( hope they have more scenes like this in season 3)...they've come so far! Great scene...love how much heart this show has!
Reminiscent of the last issue of the Smallville comic book series. Superman's life flashed before him as the Monitors' disintegration beam was taking him apart, like we see with this Superman inside the sun. Flashbacks helped them both overcome their certain deaths, and they both emerged stronger from the experience.
@@mrpaintjobs8934 Yeah, I just realized that the last time Diggle was on Superman and Lois, he never mentioned the Green Lantern ring. That’s cool that we get to see a doppelgänger of him. I guess he was never Spartan on this earth.
Must be residual power to survive space without an environment suitable, the talking in space, a bit much, however, a very exciting, great episode well done.
They didn't talk until they got close to the sun. When they were talking, you could see flames flicker past them. That means that while they weren't inside the sun itself, they were inside the sun's atmosphere (corona?), so they could use that atmosphere to talk. Besides, in the comic books pre-Crisis, Superman learned to talk in space with no atmosphere by using radio waves (manipulating the EM spectrum using the stored solar power in his body).
@@Blacstatic You have to understand... Just like some people are passionate about a certain kind of animal (dogs, horses, etc), food, art, music, cars, etc, some people are passionate about TV shows, movies,, books, and comic books. When we watch/read these things, we try to make sense of inconsistencies in the stories. Being a Science nerd myself, as well as a comic book geek (I've been reading them since the 60s), I'm rather qualified to help others make sense of those seeming inconsistencies. Besides, it's fun to discuss.
Yes, Superman and Lois show runner confirmed this. Basically the show writers put references to earth prime in script but DC took the references out and and it became awkward to talk to DC about it being from the earth prime or being different earth. CW weren't allowed to tell us that it is a different earth until now but It makes sense as only one show is currently set on earth prime, Flash
Kryptonians have a protective aura. Which is why no one complained about Reeve Superman taking Lois above the clouds (and also dropping her for giggles).
I never understood why Superman who gets his powers from absorbing sunlight wears a suit that only his hands and face are exposed to absorb. If I was powered by the sun I would be wearing a Superman speedo and that’s it. 😂
The suit he's wearing here is made from kryptonian materials that was in the pod he came to earth with. It's why there's been at least two times in the show his suit actually does get damaged, but it heals itself.
Everybody wanted so much for Kal to win that no one thought that how was he breathing in space, not to mention the extreme cold, heat from being that close to the sun and surviving all of that radiation without powers.
1: how are they having a conversation in space 2: sups clothes are as strong as he is 3: if sound could be heard in space, the sun would be so loud it would render both of them unconscious. 4: how to the sun are they, Im pretty sure the sun is a lot bigger than that.
So no powers yet hes not dead in the vacuum of space from the insane pressure gradient, the insane temperature gradient, solar radiation everywhere, the unreal graviational forces on his body being that close to the sun and the unimaginable heat blasting off of it?
how are they talking in space? Also why is the sun so small? Only the movie Sunshine displayed the size correctly....Sun is not some small lava ball...
For what I know kryptonians power came from the red sun they had on Krypton but Jorel modified his DNA to be powerful thanks to the earth sun , the yellow sun. Jorel was a genius 😅. That’s why when Kryptonians wanted to conquering earth they made the sun red
You’re thinking of Smallville bro. In the comics it’s the yellow sun that powers all Kryptonians but in Smallville Joe El edited the Krytonian codex that held the younger versions of Zod and the soldiers from Kandor so they wouldn’t get their powers under the yellow sun. But that’s just specific to that storyline
Ally drained him of his powers two episodes ago...damaged his cells ability to absorb sun hence the scene being tossed into the sun to jumpstart his powers.
funny because in the comics this literally wiped out all life on earth in the DCeased series . i see the show didnt want to go that route , dont blame them
I read a lot of comments here questioning how it was possible for Superman to survive in space without his powers. Here's the thing... Kal-El not only gets his powers from yellow solar radiation, but also from belonging to a race of beings adapted to living on a heavy gravity planet. Krypton is roughly the size of Jupiter, except that it's a solid planet, not a gas giant. And just like Terrans are stronger and faster on Earth's moon, so too is Kal-El MANY times stronger, faster, and more durable on Earth than relatively puny humans. And humans can survive for about 10 seconds in space without the protection of a spacesuit. Given how much tougher Kal-El is, he could survive in space for anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. And let's not forget that he traveled to the sun at super-speed thanks to his brother, which made his travel time less than a minute. They only talked for a minute or so once inside the sun's atmosphere, so he'd have been good for at least another 8 to 18 minutes without a spacesuit if he hadn't gotten his yellow solar radiation-based powers back. Analysis complete. Kelex, Managing AI of the Fortress of Solitude, signing off.
I realize it's superman but how are they talking in space without air and how the heck aren't they blind looking at the sun while being so close to it?
The scales all wrong tho The sun is way bigger than that Superman should be a speck within a speck compared to it Like an ant to the planet earth itself
How is it that that it seems a lot of his family and people he knows escaped from krypton? The origin story doesnt make much sense either. The story used to be that he alone was shot out in to space when he was a baby... followed by kara \ supergirl.... Werent there any other kryptonians off planet at the time?
How does it not make sense? Krypton was destroyed and he was sent to earth and so was Kara. Other Kryptonians survived Krypton’s destruction, most notably was Zod and his followers. There’s also H’el, Zor-El, and the entire population of Kandor. In this show, Superman and his half brother Tal-Rho survived. Tal-Rho used technology to implant Kryptonian minds into human bodies using the eradicator and X-Kryptonite.
So he's got no powers, but he can go in to space? Also, he's supposed to get his powers from the sun, but his entire body except for head and hands are covered? Shouldnt he be flying about nekkid?
No idea. Only explanation I could give is that he slowly started to get them back being that close to the sun and tal flew him there quickly. Other than that it makes zero sense
@@chadhiggins6884That’s exactly what happened. He “Lost,” his powers because his energy reserve were completely drained setting him back to 0. He was still absorbing solar radiation, just not fast or efficiently enough to be back at full capacity until he was thrown into the sun.
@@rogerradue2352 If I’m not mistaken he resides on the inverse world but I believe they didn’t really showed it anymore in the show, he unfortunately also wasn’t part of season 3. Maybe because they had to hold back cause they had lesser budget for the show.
Obviously, not totally powerless. I found it more fun that Tal and Kal could talk in space. Then I recalled that they were close - REALLY close - to the sun. That meant they were in the sun's corona, which produces a LOT of gas molecules. So I guess they were able to talk. I just wonder what they were breathing. But then, modern writers are noted for their innovation OR their adherence to canon.
Basic science has never been a thing in Superman. We get super powers isn't real science either... but consider now, Superman turning back time by spinning the world backwards 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 DC Superman ass
The arrow verse is ass, and I'm glad this show is separated. Also this is accurate, you'd be able to hear and make sound in the atmosphere of a sun, if you can survive being close to it
