Really enjoyed this one - the genuine enthusiasm shone through! Think it’s worth noting that you can pick and choose which bits you want so would nt necessary cost you £60k to get the performance and suspension upgrades - I think the base cars are due a bit of value correction so will keep an eye out and then get in the queue for the c. £20k of upgrades I’d be interested in!

You only get the lovely Twisted plaque and the ability to describe it as "Jimny by twisted" if they do a full suite of work on it, but you're quite right. People have been doing exactly that with defenders and twisted modifications for years

The front cab area seems to be more roomy than the old Defender, which is a much bigger vehicle.

There's no attempt to have a third central seat, so driver and passenger have more room between elbows and doors.

This specific Jimny has been in more videos than any other single Jimmy, and since you can't even name the "JDM Jimny custom" you can just vaguely refer to it, it's probably not that famous

I like some of your videos but can’t get over why they are all filmed on potatoes, even phones have had 4k for 7/8 years surely at least 1440p should be what you aim for. I like to watch these on a big tv screen and honestly hard to watch in low bitrate 1080.

You might not believe this but you're actually the first person to complain about image quality. All our cameras are capable of capturing 4k footage but there are a couple of reasons why we don't film at that resolution. 1) Data management, we already create about 6 terabytes of footage a year filming at 1080p, and I don't fancy turning that up to 24 terabytes without a better and more stable dedicated storage solution, which at the moment we can't justify from a cost side. 2) Similarly to the data problem 4k footage takes more processing power to edit, there are times on the in car footage where we can have 4 tacks rolling simultaneously to keep everything in sync the latency would make editing it a right pain. 3) This video would then also take 4x the amount of time to render, upload and process on RU-vid which only becomes a pinch because we can't do this full time at this point and we often end up in a crunch the day the video needs to go up and. 4) From our side we can see that more than 90% of our viewers watch on a mobile device or tablet where the fidelity would be wasted on them. Don't get me wrong I'm not happy with lower resolution low bit rate footage either (it was set high for the render, but RU-vid do love to compress stuff) but until we have a bit more scale I can't justify upgrading the bits of the chain holding us back until the channel has grown more. Hopefully we can up everything for you soon 🙂

It's not a stupid car, it's an excellent car (with one of the best engines fitted to any vehicle) but they're pricey and in our opinion they should come with more equipment as standard.
