Hope it helps! I think that filter sock is 99% of most people's problems. When something filters down to that small of microns, it's super easy to clog up. Mine still runs great now!

@@johnnymac3079 I'm in the 1%, replaced the sock yesterday after viewing your great video, it looked very dirty, but no improvements on the ATV. So I'll be ordering the injector and F.O. p/p that you suggested and convinced it will solve it!

I changed the fuel pump recommended in the video (but not the injector) it ran well on idle for 5 min and then died when I tried riding it…won’t start at all now

I have an 08 Suzuki LT-A750X that had the starting and dying issues described in this video and will likely try the fixes described. However, mine has gone a step farther and now won't start at all. It ran one day and a couple weeks later when I went to use it, nothing - just cranks. I can smell fuel coming through on the attempt to start and pulled the spark plug to verify spark. So, with the issues you describe, I'm assuming (if you're describing a cylinder compression loss) I can test with a compression testing gauge, but what's the easy fix?

The voltage regulator ground mod didn't get me much of anything. Hopefully it fixed you up and you won't have to tear into the fuel pump!

@@jrcorona5125 it did. Talking to a buddy that is a heavy equipment mechanic, he said it sounds like a ground issue, and I should have started there. I may look at that this year, but after we did the regulater ground it has worked great.

Probably the sock... pump and injector are honestly probably fine. The sock turns brown with gunk...but the tank is a pain to drop, so for $80 or whatever...might throw a pump in it anyways

@@johnnymac3079 did you replace the fuel pressure regulator too? I did all of the replacements that you have, but I left the stock fuel pressure regulator. It starts a lot better, and runs for a little bit, then dies, unless I give it more fuel. Also my tps is hard to get to stay centered. I bought it with a Velocity Devices ecu, which ran like crap. So I bought a new stock ecu, which is on the bike now. 2005 King quad 700. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

@@jhsdjfhuwd I did not replace my reg. I also got lucky and my tps and ecu did not have issues. I probably would have replaced the reg had I just bought the kit that had it. I would suggest looking at the plug also. Is it sorted black. If not, then you know it's not dying from being rich. Maybe you reg is bad?

Only other thing I would have done different is to buy the quantum pump that also comes with the new regulator. This seems to run just a tad rich at startup then cleans right up. Still very happy. Ride for 3 hours yesterday. No issues at all.

Been riding mine a ton since the fix. Its been sub freezing here too. Starts every time now!! Hope it helps

@@Mr85GT also if you are having issues with the King Quad I can give some advice as well. Do to other issues coming up later on I don't think the issue was the fuel pump... Anyway I will give you as much info as I have gathered and researched and you can do with it what you will.

It is a bit if a squeeze in there. I did curl the edges a bit, but was sure not to kink anywhere up by where it attaches, or have it stick up and hit the float for the gauge. All well for 500 ish miles

Did a spark plug I assume? Air filter not clogged? You did the strainer and pump correct? Just not the injector yet?

That's pretty low hours for a dirty filter sock, but anything is possible. You may want to start with unplugging the infamous bad ground under the seat, then maybe the ground mod, and then lastly...the sock/filter. Since it's the hardest. Just a friendly tip. Could also try cleaning the injector first, check air filter, spark plug. Its not ALWAYS the filter sock, buy was for me.

49033-0011 is the kawasaki #. You should be able to Google it and find an aftermarket also.

My ecu is stock, untuned. Injector is actually slightly leaner, and the holes just atomizes the fuel better.

Injector didnt fix it. Still the same issue. Got fed up with the fuel injection and stuck a Suzuki Quadmaster 500 ebay carb on it with some 45 pvc coupler and rubber couplers. The carb didnt fit my friends 500 properly as the throttle cable section was threaded. I cut a slit in it with an angle grinder, slid the throttle cable in, hooked right up and screwed in. Used a random choke piece from a dirt bike carb. Ran great for a little while but still seemed to have issues random losses of power then other times it would run compeltely mint. Used the vacuum port on the 500 carb to run a vacuum operated fuel pump from a polaris to the factory tank. Pulled the pump out and shoved some clear hose in. Ended up with a near oem look except the air box deal. Right now just have a cone filter shoved on it. After riding it like this for a few days it started acting the same as it did with the fuel injection. Hard starts, back firing through the carb and even blowing the carb completely off a few times... So now I believe I have either some sort of timing issue either phyiscally chain/cam wise or ignition wise or valve clearance issue or other engine internal issue. Im about to just tear all the electronics off and start fresh with all custom stuff to fully get rid of the pcm controlling even the ignition. I found a bayou 400 high performance cdi box cheap that im probably going to toss on it when I go custom with everything.

@@DillonTurner395 This is what my 750 Did, would run ok cold but once warm, would not start or idle. Ended up being valves were too tight. i measured and ordered larger spacers and now it never stalls. I would put the injector back on and get the valves adjusted...

Hey buddy, sorry that the tips didn't fix the issue. I would look for a voltage drop if it does it when something electrical is actuated like the 4wd. I had replaced batteries, and done the ground mod before I made my video, and they didn't help at all. Short of that...maybe ecu? Which I'm sure isn't cheap to replace. Good luck. You can try the stock injector. It will probably run A tad richer with it. You can pull the plug and see if it's running rich or lean. That's where I would start.

Mine is still running just fine. Did you replace the regulator in the pump assembly? That's the only thing I didn't do, that I would have if I did it again.

Hope it helps. And no, the socks are just disposable. They literally just turn brown with dirt. They look like a gauze pad on the inside. Just toss it and order the one I mention, or...at the absolute least, use one of the ones the pump comes with. But they are small.

Guess I could have worded it a little better, but that internal regulator is setup for factory psi. I'm willing to bet the quantum pump overpowers it to a degree. The kaw injector dies have a lower flow rate. If anything it still runs a tad rich vs stock. IMO

@@johnnymac3079 The reg should adjust and keep up no matter which pump is supplying the fuel because its spring pressure coupled with fuel pressure. Unless its worn and cant keep up?? The ecu is going to adjust the injector according to the info that sensors send so i wonder if the richness happens because the ecu doesn't adjust for the Kaws rate of injection?

I believe you are not taking into account that the return orifice is only so big, and increased flow at some point can, and will, overflow the capacity of the return orifice. Also discounting that injector flow rates vary from one model injector to another. These quads do not have oxygen sensors. They are also MAP, not MAF. The factory ecu can only adjust so much, and it's only based on map. Not unburnt oxygen.I found several reports of the quantum pump running richer than stock, and this kawasaki injector running leaner than stock. Verified with auxillary wideband sensors. I am respectfully sticking to my opinion.

@@johnnymac3079 I would be interested in putting a pressure gauge before the injector to see what happens with the pressure. See if it ever climbs above factory specs.

I don't know how or where you ride it, but I would guess the filter sock clogged, opposed to a bad oem pump that's only 2 years old. Maybe you have one of the other issues going on like battery voltage, or plug. Good luck.

Hey, I still have the 750. Runs great. My one concession i have made is just keeping a battery tender on it. Many of these have a slow draw over time. My injector and pump did fix the stalling issue, and poor starting. For what it's worth, my hand rope also pulls really hard. I think that's just a big bore single piston deal. I did throw a starter at mine. Didn't seem to change much, but was a cheap thing to try.

Yes, you can pop off the right side plastics, and then there are I believe 2 bolts holding on the fuel rail (that captures the injector into the manifold. Little tricky to get to the bolts. But once that fuel rail is loose, the injector just unplugs and pops out.

Do you happen to know the size, threads of those screws? Id like to pick up little bolts ahead of time. Thank you.

@@moviemaker39100 not sure what you mean? I think they were 10mm bolts that hold the rail on. The side panels are held on by push poppers.

I don't believe so. Mine is almost 10 years older than that. They went to a newer design engine with 2 spark plugs at some point.

Glad the video helped! You can just Google the pn's and buy them from wherever is cheapest. Amazon is usually the safest bet. Sometimes rock auto. I also keep a battery tender on it just to be safe

Another quick question... people are saying the Airtex FS199 sock is too big and doesn't fit in the boot. How did you overcome this?

The extra holes in the injector does lead to better fuel atomization. In my opinion. Thus a cleaner burn.

Spark plug, coil, plug wire, injector? Check all those? Iac valve making loud noises?

Hard telling. Some guys beat these relentlessly. If it sucked water or dirt, it may in fact need valves. You can check compression with a rented autozone leak down checker however, and know for sure before tearing it apart.

I have the same hard start, cold start issue, you replace the pump in yours?

@@haydencarling9463 Haven't replaced the fuel pump. OEM ones are over $300, I don't trust those cheap China ones off eBay, I don't want to go for A ride and get stranded. I don't know who would make A good aftermarket pump.

Hello, its not "mud" persay, its just dirt that collects in the sock, and other debris that takes on the appearance of a mud like substance. The micron count on the strainer is very small. So...any dust or junk plugs it.

@@johnnymac3079 Ah okay so you are saying the sock you bought is larger in size and the strainer holes are larger?

Did you buy the strainer I posted also? When you push the pump back in place, it does capture it. It also has a metal tab in it that grabs the plastic

@@colinpowers9344 there is an embedded little metal tab that "dugs in" to the pump nose. Personally tho, I would buy the bigger strainer. It's a tight fit, fyi.

@@johnnymac3079 ok will do.. it's only $6 on RockAuto but by the time it gets to me it's going to be $36.. exchange ,shipping and duty.. cross reference part number and it's the same strainer as a 1998 Ford Explorer 6 cylinder among others.. just trying to find it for less than 1/3 of the new pump price. This is a problem on the quads after 10-15 years of use. Not brand new ones.

Yikes, I would check battery voltage when running. And see if it drops, and it's 14 ish when running. Also injector is something to check.

In my automotive experience, ignition components are notorious for cutting out when hot. I would guess ignition coil. Or could be a weakening fuel pump that loses pressure as it gets hot.

The factory one should be fine, I would definitely recommend the pump with the regulator however. You don't want it running too rich. If you Google in injector pn someone has to have them. Ebay, Amazon, etc

Great info here. I purchased the pump with the regulator and looking for the injector as well. Looks like the EAT286 is available but not the 287. Anyone know if it is close enough?

Installed the EAT 286 today and it runs great. I got the same pump with the regulator and it seems to be running great without stalling. Does seem a little rich. Maybe i'll try a different plug? Thanks again for all the info.

@@chasem4491 that's awesome. Keep in mind in cold weather the ecu will always richen it up a bit. The plug won't change the mixture, but there are two ngk plug numbers that are pretty cheap. It may just want a new one. I put the hotter plug part number in mine

49033-0011 is the oem kawasaki # many of the Chinese aftermarket ones appear to be on backorder with covid. Partzilla has the oem number above for $75. Just make sure you measure it, and its the same length before install if you go aftermarket. The metal nose can be slightly longer, but the plastic body has to fit the same.

100% fixed. Zero stalling issues since.

My friend just bought a used 2015 with only 30 miles on it and it is doing exactly what you described with yours but he hasn’t really had a chance to ride to see if there are any other issues that people are describing. I may wait for a longer ride to see if any of the other issues come up before i make the decision on where to start.

It is a 2015 750 axi with power steering.

Fuel goes bad pretty quick especially if it has ethanol in it.

May be a bad pump, or the hose connection or sock is loose/off.

U haven’t got the wires backwards have u? That will make the pump spin the wrong way

I would start with verifying it's getting spark while cranking with the starter. Sounds like it's not firing the plug, or coil, unless you manually yank it.

What charging voltage? I don't recall exactly. 14.4 I believe

@william reid mine plugged right in. Plug was the same. I can't imagine 08 being different?

I would look for a cracked line, or the connection at the pump, or the fuel sock down in the tank being loose.

@@johnnymac3079I winded up getting one a week after this comment lol. I absolutely love everything about it. It’s very fast for a utility atv and it’s very comfortable. My only complaint is probably the noisy CVT rollers when under load, almost sounds like engine knock, and the exhaust will have a slight chirping noise when cold at the end of rev’s. Other than that I love it.

No, because it'll build pressure, bug the sock is so plugged it can't maintain flow.

@SteveTaber-xe4sv I think its still the problem. Watch My video at the point where I show the screen of the old video. I could rev mine slow too. The socks turn a slimy brown, filled with small particles. It's just like a sediment filter on a house water system.
