In my non-expert opinion, I'd say you solved it Mitch. The fact that you can recreate the fault when you disconnect the ground would indicate to me that somewhere in that harness is a short that you have now bypassed. Thank God for forum posts and helpful RU-vidrs! 👍

This sounds like a great fix and it is good that it appears to have resolved your problem. We found that it is almost impossible to get something to fail when you get the camera out but it will do so every time with the camera off 🙂

That was what I was thinking 😂 It never fails!!!! Maybe I should just keep the camera running to fix all of my problems. Thanks for watching! 😁👍🚜💨☀️

Yo Mitch!! I’ve been having the same problem with my 2016 King Qaud… maybe worse!!! I’d touch the steering wheel and it would stall. The other fix out there is adding a ground wire to the chassis. Tried that, didn’t work. Your fix did the job!! Thanks for the video!!

I did this to my 06 700 king quad several years ago. Mine would die when I came to a stop I don't have power steering but it fixed my issue.

I did this fix with my king quad 700 2007 model. When running, the alternator would only supply 12.8 volts to the battery. As a result, my battery wouldn’t go completely dead but it wouldn’t be charged enough to start in cold weather. Also, my headlights were really dim as well. Making the ground jumper to the regulator made the voltage at idle increase to 13.7 volts. Now my battery will get fully charged while running and the headlights are much brighter now. It’s amazing what 1 volt will do to a halogen bulb’s light level. BUT, It didn’t fix my problem of the 4 wheeler dying whenever a large electrical load is applied. Every time I engage or disengage 4 wheel drive and differential lock it will die unless I have the engine revved up. The same thing happens when the cooling fan turns on and it happens most of the time when I turn on the headlights. The jumper to the regulator didn’t fix or decrease this problem for me despite fixing the low voltage issue. So my next attempt is to follow the recommendation to attach an additional ground from the battery to the chassis. Apparently the battery to 4-wheeler ground attaches to a bolt on the engine (I haven’t looked at mine yet). That connection must develop a lot of resistance in it over the years because several have reported that making a new ground that’s attached to the frame, while also leaving the existing ground, fixed their problem with stalling. I’m going to try it and will report back the results. I hope it works because the engine dying every time a big electrical load comes online is very annoying. In the winter it is much worse because the radiator fan is cycling on and off, so any idling at all will usually result in multiple restarts. At least now I can keep the battery fully charged from the voltage increase! Before, all the restarts would drain the battery fast! With the low voltage it would recharge but only partially. Now I it’s back to a full charge in less than a min or so. I will check back in with my results. Great video! If low charging voltage is an issue for you, this mod will almost certainly fix it!

Thanks for sharing your detailed experience. I have had no problems sensing the fix hopefully you can fix yours with the ground to the frame. Might need to get a voltage regulator in the future. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching 😁👍🚜💨☀️

Those are called solderless connectors. I have used tons of them and have had good luck with them.

Morning Gary thanks for letting me know I have used them in tight locations and squirt silicone in them before installing them. Normally would solder the connection but wasn’t sure it would work. Have a great weekend buddy 😁👍🚜💨🍳

Assuming you’re connecting the 16 gauge wire to the white/black wire down at the regulator. You didn’t say which one it was at that location…. I’m out doing this right now. Thank you for posting this video 😁 Edit: Noticed yours is a 750 and mine is 700. The wiring is different to the regulator than yours. So, is the wire your connecting to white/black or another color?
@MJADoingStuff

I have the very same wheeler and a very same problem. Mine happens when a very lught throttle is applied like just off the throttle seat. I tossed a code and came back throttle position sensor. Found wires to the sensor to be worn thru and shorting out. Patched it up and adjusted the sensor position. Surprised still have a run ability issue. Ill look into your fix and report back!
