Collegiate athletics is a multibillion dollar business, built upon the backs & talents of our unpaid/underpaid youth. FOH

The NCAA is built upon the expertly crafted infrastructure that its presidents and administrators have maintained for well over one hundred years. If the athletes that only want to play for money don't want to play college basketball, baseball, football, etc., they'll just be replaced with the next best athlete. These "underprivileged youths" should be happy that they are being given free tuition, room, and board, to some of the best schools in the United States when they would have been academic non-qualifiers without sports.

Stop with that tired line. How much money are players making for their school minus their scholarships, meals, housing, facilities, training, travel. That's a more realistic picture. When you see it in the proper context, you have a more realistic picture of their value.

@@Zenigundam It’s fair game.. if a school can make millions off of MY name why can’t I profit off of MY name ?? If coaches can just up & leave why can’t I just up & transfer ?? The guys at the top don’t lead by example w/ showing loyalty to the players so why do you think players owe that loyalty ?? It starts at the top

Stop profiting of these kids talent, pay these coaches 100k, and no compensation from commercials.

What a clown. First thing the coaches wanna know is their proposed salary. Why is it wrong when someone else wants to know what type of money they’ll get? These people want to keep all the huge earnings at the top. Nahh times changing.

Salary cap.

Take out NIL? Okay...as long as coaches salaries are capped at 50k a year. Coaches making millions off the labor of "student" athletes is ridiculous.

What do you expect from people who used to own slaves. it's in their DNA to use other people for their own pockets.

Also, a point all of these geniuses seem to selectively omit, these players are allowing these schools to support their entire athletic budgets. They are paying for lesser and non revenue sports like tennis, golf, volleyball, field hockey, and others. Billions of dollars are being generated, yet the players receiving NIL deals is problematic, go figure.

1)Take NIL out? Only if they capped coaches salaries. And capped how much the schools makes off the players. Because players have the right to make money off themselves if everyone else is making money off of the players. 2)This is why we hate Laettner.

He sounds dumb just watch that movie national championship and it shows how dirty ncaa is and that is just football NIL is the best thing that has happened to these college athletes especially woman the professional outlook as far as salary is not in there favor there making more money then they would throughout a career then they would in college making there future better then it would be if there was no NIL

Less than 0.3% of NCAA players get drafted. Why should coaches be free to get paid and leave schools for better opportunities but players shouldn’t?
@ericthomas6086
@ericthomas6086 29 дней назад
Because it's not good for the sport and in the end, the 99.7% of players will be the biggest losers. Without sports, those schools would still exist. But, where would those players be?

I think it’s funny how most of these big name universities made millions of dollars & built their legacies off these athletes for decades and now that the athletes get to make money off themselves it’s a problem!?!?!?😢

Easy for a highly paid White guys to say it. I am for it if they hire coaches as volunteers and stop broadcasting it in TV. If no one makes money I am up for it but if there is money then the players should get paid first sine they are doing all the work.
@TheWacoKid44

As long as everyone including the NCAA is purely voluntary and no one is paid, sure. Otherwise pay everyone, including the people we are all paying to watch.

Well said Christian, good to see the legends of the game speaking out against the corruption of the game - the beauty about college sports was that it was never about money but rather honour, spirit and integrity...well those attributes are doomed now, and I for one cant watch it anymore

Coaches get paid millions and can leave anytime they want. Players should have that option as well. Who care about culture. I’ve seen coaches kick players off a team for no reason, because they want to bring other own players. If a player is not getting playing time they should be able to take their career in their own hands and do what’s best for them. Laettener is wrong.

The NCAA should've just paid the players as employees and then the transfer portal wouldn't be so bad. The NIL was a stupid idea to allow the NCAA to continue not paying the athletes. And their idiocy has now ruined their own product. The athletes deserve to be paid and the NCAA deserves it's problems for their greed. Laettner is a shill and stupid. I'd like to talk to his 18 year old self and see how he'd feel making the money.

I mean i dont think they need to completely wipe out NIL, but i do think there should be a Maximum each season a player can earn. I dont think anyone should make more potentially or the same that they would in there 1st pro season. If they capped it at 500k or 1 million i dont see why that wouldnt be enough PER season in college.
