One of the baddest Tales from the Crypt episodes, love that ‘57 and Chevelle. Kind of reminds me of the last race in American Graffiti. That John M may have lost if Harrison Ford didn’t blow out his tire.
Warren Zevon did all the music on this episode. "Bad road, Wretched road" is a lost track sadly. Rebel son did a cover of it but still... would have been nice to hear the original.
That really was a great song. I've been exhaustively trying to find it. Is it really "lost," as in, no original recordings anywhere? If so, that's a shame.
Even though Warren Zevon goofed on the cubic inches (no self respecting Chevy man would ever install a 429 Ford in a 57 Chevy), this was definitely the best episode of tales from the Crypt ever!, dig young Brad Pitt before he was famous!
That 57 wasnt all Hollywood it was quite stout. And to quote Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino "Did you ever come across anybody you really shouldntve @#$%ed with.He wasnt nicknamed the Iceman for no reason.
Honestly, this and cutting cards are my favourite tales from the crypt episodes They don’t have a lot of spooky or paranormal going on, but they have that theme that is two men that have competition together whether they like it or not truly an embodiment of living in the way we die you play your cards like a man win lose or draw or you die whimpering and I prefer to go out with my boots on win lose or draw
Kinda looking at this show now it kinda reminds me sometimes when you had a stronghold from your past sometimes you have to go back to your past and conquer it so it won't haunt you in the present and future
My 57 2 door sounded the same, oil and grease only made it go away for a few days. Did a frame off and the shop replaced alot of parts. I missed the sound when it was gone to be honest
Oh, you mean that song! It's really cool too, by I had in my mind song Iceman turns on in the car while he rides with sherrif on 5:10. Tried to find it by a lyrics, by couldn't determine words. For me it sounds like "....got a destination as a dead man's land... dead road, wretched road..".
If you guys like that 57 do a RU-vid search for 'running on empty' an Australian film with a very similar blown 57 (right hand drive) going up against a blown charger
So cool when pulling out the garage onto to the driveway to the street and gunning that son of a gun of a car down the road , hearing that thing roar wild and free, ha,ha,ha, 😊
That would alway confuse me, the song goes he a 57 Chevy 4 in the floor and 429, didn't think Chevy made a 429 only ford. As I got older I found out ford and Chevy made the big block 429
Billy Troll brad race other guys the ones he beat he put on his arm ice man was an old racer and became a cop the ice man was never beat and brad kid napped his daughter to prove he was the ice man
David Rager he got the Garrett tat before they raced and in his first race the other car crashed so was he killing his opponents, and had they also had other racers die racing them was my question
My guess is probably. The guy he raced in the beginning was older, like a past his prime racer, probably. He was excited when the other guy crashed and possibly died. Pitt's character knew of these guys as legends. He knew of Iceman's past, and called himself his karma. I just wonder if he was human or if he was supposed to be a demon. He kept fkicking his tongue out. He also disappeared quickly when he first met Iceman. When Iceman came to race, he spoke of his car as if he knew of it, or possibly even saw it before that night.
don't take everything so literally.....its just a song.....of course chevy never made a 429.....ford did.....nothing sounds like an all American chevy engine when their built!!....I LOVE EM!
