Tecnifibre TF40 review - all options :)
strings recommendation:
1. Tecnifibre Razor Code 1.25
2. Mayami Big Spin/Tour Hex hybrid
3. Signum Pro Firestorm 1.30
around 22kg
my overgrip: Tourna Mega Tac XL
00:00 - intro
00:27 - TF40 racquets - who is it for?
1:33 - power potential between models
3:10 - TF40 18x20
5:42 - TF 40 16x19
11:26 - playing against a heavy-hitter (TF40 16x19) - place for improvement for TF40 16x19
12:04 - TF40 305 or 315?
13:26 - grinding :)
my summary:
1. TF40 315 16x19 - great in stock form but needs a bit more mass to really shine, very classic frame with a modern twist. I hope the new release will have a slightly higher sw with higher power potential in stock form!
2. TF40 305 18x20 - I would appreciate 32cm balance instead of 32.5
3. TF40 305 16x19 - I would appreciate 32cm balance instead of 32.5 (and higher SW)
4. TF40 315 18x20 - all good - just made for the specific players. Maybe 320g/310mm setup?)))
Here we are! My top picks for the tournament:
1. Tecnifibre Tfight 305 ISO 18x19
2. Head Prestige Pro
3. Yonex Percept 97D
4. Tecnifibre TF40 16x19
5. Tecnifibre Tfight 315 ISO 16x19
6. Head Radical Pro
7. Diadem Elevate Tour
8. Yonex Vcore 98 Tour
9. Yonex Percept 97H
10. ????
11. Solinco Whiteout 16x19
12. Head Speed Pro
13. Head Gravity Pro
14. Yonex Vcore 95 16x20

305 first gen 18*20 has been my racquet of choice since 2021. Customized the handle shape a little bit + leather grip. I usually use 1.20mm poly with it. Fantastic feel indeed!

And its been 2 years already for this line so the update is around the corner :) What do you think could be improved to make it even better ?
@EGchristian

@@dandan.tennis maybe a 18*19 version? I wouldn’t mind a little easier access to spin and power.

uuuuuuu, nice! :) but I guess already with tfight 305 it's not an option for Tecnifibre. but maybe they should? kinda the "legacy pattern" 18x19!@@EGchristian

@@dandan.tennis iso305 is too head heavy (SW too high) for a lot of people. Also the frame is a bit too thick for my personal taste. TF has a long history of offering 18*19, maybe they should have launched the original version with this pattern 😉

sounds right@@EGchristian they should think about it before Wilson releases Blade with 18x19 pattern and take their territory of 18x19 frames ;p or Head will master the retail Djokovic frame (?) or 18x19 in general. I think they improved their prestige 18x19 quite a lot just by looking at the specs.

My TF40 315 16*19 was 7 grams lighter. Yes, felt anemic, unstable and most importantly, underpowered. But, it's always easy to put some lead tape on the right places and fix these issues. 2 things I'd like to see on the next update, whenever it is: 1) trap door 2) 2-3 RA lower stiffness The 16*19 is tighter than the Diadem Elevate's 16*20 and the Angell TC95 16*19 and I felt I could hit flat very well.

For me playing with lead to solve problems is a never ending mission. I can understand some small tweaks. Like 2-4 grams in total. But everything above will throw me into the oblivion of forever tweaking the racquet. Its not that easy to customize TF40 315 16x19 imo because its not only about power and plow through. Trap door would be nice Yes :) Lower stiffness ? Not sure- to have even less power ? I would like them to play with weight distribution to have it closer to tf40 315 18x20. Compare the TW, power potential and sweet zone. And in theory it should be worse with 18x20.

@@dandan.tennis agreed. For me, anything more than 8-10 grams makes it a complete different racket. I never want to go over 330 grams strung weight with overgrip and dampener. But, in my short experience, swingweight and balance are more important factors to a racket's feel

Great review! I’m an advanced beginner/intermediate player who picked up a TF40 315 16x19 this winter. So far I absolutely love the frame. Next step is dialing in on preferred string. I think next I will try razor code on your suggestion. I have ALU Power (ocean blue) in there right now and that has been good.

great selection! you are on a good path :) maybe you could also consider trying something shaped just to feel and see the difference. Maybe something like Solinco Tour Bite Soft 1.25 (regular one will be too stiff). I havent tried it personally in TF40 but I imagine this could be something good. Overall the goal with tf40 is to "unlock it" rather than "tame it" .Alu Power and Razor Code although they are very control oriented, the response is dynamic. It's not "boardy dead" unless you string too tight. Thanks for stopping by! :)

@@dandan.tennis that’s a very helpful point. I will add tour bite soft to my list! I also want to try Mayami Tour Hex and Toroline Super Toro in it. Those will be two shaped strings to experiment with (plus the blue color will look great). I saw someone else online say that a firm, crisp poly works well in the TF40. Planning on stringing everything at 49 lbs.

@dandan.tennis 2 месяца назад
@@xJuskii cool. Crisp? Maybe, but not dead. Stringing it low can help, sure. Its kinda like a prestige racquet but 16x19 for more spin and forgiveness. So my main concern with TF40 is how to play more efficient while keeping all the control and feel of the TF40.

@@dandan.tenniswhen I get some different strings in, I’ll try to come back to this and let you know if I like it or not. Loving the channel so far! Great to see some Tecnifibre content - not enough people use their racquets in my opinion.

Cześć, jakbyś porównał TF 40 18x20 do T fight 305 ?? Power-spin-control zakładam że feel porównywalny.
@dandan.tennis
@dandan.tennis Месяц назад
