OMG... I''m new... my first working outside office work for decades...and wanted to do a physical work and on my own... finished up 5 day training (integrad/road test/diad) last week... now real training 3 days this week with supervisor and I believe on my own? I'm glad I just stumbled your channel.... this is a nightmare already! If there's such thing as MicroMangae... I'll cope with that with the PAY better than in the "Office Space"! ...F&A!
HAHA! This was awesome! Way to make the rules fun. They really feel like an annoyance at first but they can save a life. Even one life saved makes everyone's hard work and extra diligence worthwhile! Thanks for the video. I start my 30 days tomorrow, wish me luck!
Any FedEx ground drivers here? This blows my mind. If I was being watched by a camera I'd been fired ages ago. Bulk head doors open, checking scanner while driving, backing at higher speeds. There's 0 micromanagement here. I guess I got so used to it.
Alpha Male I was one for 4 1/2 years but I developed good habits over my time there. Now.... I’m a ups driver 😂 so those habits are well drilled in my head now
@@denisberry4941 you make 6 figures with UPS cuz you wear a seatbelt? Damn show me the way bro!!!!!!!! I wanna make 6 figures and drive with my bulkhead door shut!!!!
Adam is so cool! He was my dad’s supervisor for a long time at Cerritos, then he got moved to Manchester in Compton. Not sure where he currently works, maybe Main St ?
This is basically a show for the camera. Telematics has a few issues, for instance when you hand you keys to a part timer upon returning to the building in the PM. If the part time employee pulls your car out of the building with the bulk head door open and you (the driver) haven't punched out yet, then telematics books that distance against the driver. The Wig headed dude did actually give a warning that he was going to hop out of the package car before exiting....most sups don't. That can be an alarming distraction as you are beginning to back.
@@bwakel310 Maybe the Telematics issue has been cleaned up. I have been retired for a while now. The biggest enhancement to package car over the decades that I drove were the conversion to the original DIAD from paper and the addition of the EDD system. Telematics and ORION never enhanced service to the customer or safety. ORION , if anything made customer service worse and Telematics would often have a package car driver on the defensive about an issue that wasn't broken. Like a pickup that was actually located about a mile from where Telematics, GPS and ORION said it was located. Hang in there I'm still proud of my former company.
My first week I didn't buckle my seat belt on my residential stops and got dinged 68 times. My supe laughed at me and told me not to let it happen again. The next day I completed 120 stops with my seat belt on. I think they knew what was up lol.
They told us all the time that you only use ONE hand to put the seatbelt on while the other hand is starting the car. These guys are using all kinds of hands to put on the seatbelt on.
scott lint I understand that. I was replying to him saying “I don’t talk to management” you can have casual conversations about stuff outside of work. He just made it seem like “I don’t talk to them at all”
@@timpenrose4133 well when your sup is trash and nickle and dimes you for every tele, they can talk to my grieve. Can't punish for Telematics under union contract big boy
Jonah Davison your correct! we are the safety team. The "driver" in this video is actually the center manager and the "manager" is a driver..we have a great thing here. They let us try new things to engage safety and keep thinks fresh with safety.
Had a driver who wore shorts 365 even with winter jacket, -30 degrees didn't matter. Then one day the new boss didn't like it.... Precedence had been set for a few decades so they had to leave him alone.
Everyday management puts drivers in the office even if you are a veteran they don't care. Everything you do they watch you till you get 3 strikes then you are suspended and possible 72 notice of termination or go to arbitration to get your job back. Plus backs and legs aches for so many years you age fast and the stress .. good luck
That's nothing. I've been told (when I had a good idea that was implemented later on) you're not paid to think.... And "Your father better only die once". After a while you don't care what they spew and only come for the money and the chaos show.
When I started there as a pkg. car driver we used paper. Drove 28 years, about to lose my pension in 5 years. Central States ran out of money. Think they will hire me back? Hell I'm 74 with high blood pressure, an were a coloscopie bag an have heart problems. Maybe morning sort hope to see you guys out there. LOL
bryan1282 not anymore. I work for UPS and they are in the process of transitioning to automatic. You will still see manuals with some package cars and all semis.
A dying breed, even have power steering and lower steps these days. For recertification I find the one manual truck left, because I know the guys certifying me can't drive them.
Ive been delivering packages for Amazon for 3 years and this shit is crazy.i applied for UPS in Portland Oregon last week they lost me when they wanted me to be a parot and said i cant leave the motel during training.fuck that job
Fuck a Union job with great pay and benefits??? your definitely Amazon material 🤣 stay in the little league then and make 25 k a year with zero benefits.
Every time I smash past the ups drivers in my FedEx truck with my bulkhead open and my seatbelt off in those tight residential areas they just ignore me. Wonder why
telematics my ass i’m a drive it like i stole it. lol jk amazon same way but worst. everything from scanner manipulation while driving, backing, corner to fast, hard acceleration and braking, wearing of seatbelt, speeding it’s all tracked and drivers get scored on it. soon they will have cameras in the package cars with AI technology and it will see if you don’t completely stop at stop signs, runs red light, going to fast, distracted while driving, basically all of it but the cameras will pick them up and score the driver on it.
No, its low paying back breaking work. If you get lucky you might get to be a driver within 8 years or a full time combo position in 12 to 13 years. If you can afford to be a part time employee for that long and you don't mind being overworked and underappreciated, then here's the job for you. Jk go to school, use your brain, not your body.
Ups is way to strict,I work at fedex on weekends,I dont shut the truck off at every stop,I dont shut the bulk head door, and I'll be dammed if I'm going to put the seat belt on when i have 10.stops on one street
@@denisberry4941 you go with your bad self and work 13 hr days during peak while I'm home, plus that's not my fulltime job dude so I'll stick with my 2200 weekly take home.
Who the hell is that worm accusing this guy of all the these Ups wrong doings!! I ll lay money down he ain't done a good hard Day's work in his fuckin life??!!
