Ya, it's so much nicer because I'd say that's all the majority of people use the glove box for. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 has one similar to it (but bigger) in every market but the US. Apparently the head of Hyundai US thought it was too small so instead the US spec gets a massive traditional glove box which is so deep that it requires the driver to bend over to actually reach anything inside it.

I’d still trust my phone to have better biometrics (which can also improve as I get a new phone more often than a new car.) At that point, app-based keys aren’t too much of a bother. Better yet, have the new Apple car keys tech since, again, I trust Apple’s software over a car manufacturer and it has it open by proximity with your phone or watch which can make it more seamless than the car having the biometrics. That said, I’m sure it’d still be nice to have just in case your phone and watch run out of battery while you also don’t have your key with you (which you never know… might happen.)

Most people I know, including myself, who have EV's, use it to have their charging cables easily accessible- so you never have to empty your rear trunk if you need your cables en route (also they will not just slide around in the rear if you have no other items in the rear. I generally feel like a front trunk is a good spot for emergency kits spare chargers and spare clothing and survival kit type stuff also maybe for weather items where you could hose the front and there's a drip tray like the Ford F-150 lightning has I think the people that don't generally use a front trunk the people that don't have easy access to it some of them are such a pain in the ass like the Ford mustang e you have to double pool the trunk opener and then you have to shut it a certain way so it doesn't make it very practical if they make it that you could open it with the phone app or the key or a button underneath the grill more people would probably use it

@AHungryHunky
@AHungryHunky Год назад
I have to agree, front trunks make more sense as a flexible cargo area for something like a pickup where the bed is to large and open for smaller items or groceries, and also works as a secure place to keep tools and personal items. In a car it's not as practical since the regular cargo area is also secure from the elements and opportunistic thieves, but I can still see some value in it as a place to store items that never leave the car, but don't necessarily need immediate access. Things like a spare charging cable, or straps/tie downs for when you have heavier items that might slide in the main cargo area.

I really liked this car. Contrary to Doug I think it is really luxurious inside. It easily beats most of other cars in this segment when interior design, quality and materials are considered. Genesis is becoming more and more appealing to me with every new car and I think that after initially offering only sedans (which actually were ok) they are on the right track, cars have distinct and appealing styling, interior is top notch. It all reminds me of the path that Lexus took in the 90's and it seems currently Genesis is on the road to repeat its success. Sadly in Europe, where I live, Genesis is almost non existent and on this basis it actually reminds me more of Infiniti or Acura and the only times I have seen Genesis on the road was the same G90 with South Korean flags that's belonging to Embassy of South Korea in my country.
