So many memories competing Claire and Leon A & B multiple times without saving. I like the remake, it's very well done.. even if it does ignore the universal rule of Zombie headshots 😅
I don’t think it’s fair to say it’s the best just because it improved on the og. U should also mention what it did better with its changes compared to the og, along with the other remakes and what they did better compared to their first games. I think re4 did the best at keeping pretty much everything, while adding a bunch of fun mechanics and changes. Another thing with re2 is while it’s replayable and still fun, that’s only for every once in a while. 4 u can do it way more often bc a lot more can happen. It’s also a way longer game, and u can’t say Leon and Claire’s campaign add to the run time bc they are pretty much the same. And the b scenarios were stupid in my opinion. The og did those infinitely better. I love re2r, but I think 4’s the best. I’d compare the other 2, but this is a comment section, not a vid for yt. Other than that great vid
The thing about that statement is, that people who think this don't even need to use nostalgia as an argument for OG re2 being better when there's actual arguments to be made. But on the flip side....this remake culture is arguably worse, peoples most hyped up games are often remakes instead of new ideas, and they treat every deviation away from the original and towards this homogenous blob of modern design sensibilities as some "objective" improvement. They talk about original games as if they're "outdated" now or that they are only good because of nostalgia. This isn't the case for OG RE2 tho. and in 15 years time these remakes won't be remembered as much as the OG's will be. Guaranteed. But debating which is better will always come down to opinion no matter how "objective" you could be. Because arguments for over the shoulder TPS vs fixed cams and tank controls will rage on forever with both having their place and merits.

Best remake would be Dino Crisis 1 and 2 and a sequel Dino Crisis 3 that continues the after the ending of 2 *Pointing aggressively at the empty place on the totem pole* IF CAPCOM WOULD MAKE THEM! Also I hope they remake RE5.
Personally, Re2 remake is overrated by most people. My issue with Re2 remake is that while it is definitely a fantastic game on its own, however as a remake its honestly average. It takes more than updated graphics and gameplay in order for a remake to be great. A remake is supposed fix some of the flaws of the original game and add more into it. I feel that Re2 remake was only okay when it came to this aspect, some content has been cut in favor of some less likeable things, Alligator isn't a boss anymore, neither is G creature. No spiders, no crows, no zap system, no marshal yard and worse smaller lab (personal preferences) bland B scenarios, noticeable lack of soundtrack, repetitive bosses and less replayability. I honestly think this game is more of a retelling than a remake. To this day Re1 remake stands as the prime example of what a remake should be, virtual no cut content whatsoever and it improved every flaw while adding more content and lore in the game. My ranking of the remakes: 1. Re1 2. Re4 3. Re2 4. Re3
I never played the original RE2 and RE3, so i loved both Remakes. But my favourite Remake so far is RE2. I had played original RE4 just a few years ago, and i still like that one better than the remake. There's just something about the atmosphere in that game. I would love a remake of the first game as well
Not having a very good B scenario? You mean basically the same story beats as the A scenario with some new content. Compared to OG, the remake is a solid update but by no metric does it surpass OG RE2. The voice acting is just as Campy. Claire's face didn't render properly in some cut scenes and is prefer the blocky polygon instead of my mind trying to justify her lips peeled back like a burn victim. There's more examples but no need to beat a dead horse. I like RE2R and it's a good game but it is not better than OG RE2. REmake is the only one that adds to its source material and improves on characters, stories and events. The new games are good but missed an opportunity in their execution
RE4 OG is my most played game of all time, and while I still play it for nostalgic reasons, the remake is definitely the superior game all around. The controls, mechanics, characters and their motivations are all made better. Resident Evil has always had B-movie style camp to it, so the remakes keeping that aspect in these remakes should be expected. While I definitely think the B-sides of 2R were terrible, the A sides are much better than the OG. I have personally never experienced the technical problems of claire's face rendering, so this has not effected my experience with the game. 3R was a great game in and of itself, but compared to the amount of cut content from the original, it is the most lacking of the remakes.
@Myrizukal as a whole I don't think 2 and 3 remakes are better than the OGs. I haven't played 4 and didn't speak to it. The consumer shouldn't have to justify the cut content over the gameplay improvements to determine what version is better. Resident evil is no stranger to delays and even reboots. I would've much preferred a 6-12 month delay and have a more polished RE2 and 3 R with all the content than what was released. No one forced Capcom to release them when they did that was company and investor pressure. The long term sales would be better if people talked about RE2 and 3 R the way we talk about REmake. If there's a debate over which version is better than the developers didn't put out a better version of the than the OG. Parts may be better but as a sum of those parts it does not surpass the original because they didn't do x-y-z.... etc...

Overall i think RE1 remake is a better remake. This one fucked up and botched too many things and removed too much content. The most egregious example is making scenario A and B redundant. It didn't make OG re2 obsolete in the slightest which is a hilarious take by some people. Hard disagree that this is the best RE remake Glenn but HEY, I can't agree with all your opinions on everything bro lmao, not an ass kisser. I'll say this, Resident evil 2 remake is essentially a better game than it is a remake of resident evil 2. Good shit as usual.
yup. there was significant differences with all scenarios. Leon(A) and Claire(B) Claire(A) and Leon(B) all 4 scenarios have unique differences. they fucked it up in the trash re2 reimagined 2019 game
@@KT-rq9id not only that but some of the interactions in the A scenario have an effect in the B scenario. That's something that should've been in the remake, no excuses.
