Yep it's pretty safe to assume that if the show has been already renewed for a 5th season, the main characted will survive until the that. However, there are a lot of possibilities of how he will survive. If we look at the comics (which the show is not really following) Butcher could defetely become supe since he is one in them. Seeing him becoming the thing he swore to destroy would be interesting.
my version: so what happens is that vought is literally crumbling apart into pieces, everyones panicking , people question homelander's mental stabability and its all going worse from there on forward. a-train joins the boys him and hughie finally forgive eachother and the deep, more or less either is forced by homelander to fight the boys or he just stays out of it all. i believe halfway in the season or at the very end, homelander looses it all. he cant keep up with it. and the boys are starting to realize the danger posed by soldier boy so instead of keeping him alive and stuff they most likely would just use him like a gun to help fight against the homelander (and his fans) THEN kill him or lock him up . eventually once homelander does loose his mind. he probably broadcasts it worldwide, slowly brainwashing his fans into become physcopaths like him too look and maybe even kidnap members of the boys. butcher most likely will become a full on supe with powers almost as powerful like homelander but not enough to solo him. (hughie might also go to perma V or just stay out of V) and towards the end ALL the boys are together, and figuring out ways to kill homelander once and for all. (during filler episodes with backstories i think it will just reveal more stuff all the characters did to eachother and maybe even get a new boys member or homelander member) now i also have a predection for season (final season) based of my last predection the season will be the final fight to end all of this supe madness once and for all. it will start with the boys taking out homelander's fans one by one and making their way to homelander, ryan will most likely be trained by homelander to fight people and stuff and then at the end of the season all the boys will fight homelander and theyll kill him eventually. fast forward like 5 years later ryan is cleased of homelanders brainwashing and the world is peaceful again, soldier boy is locked back up in the chamber and all is good. probably butcher will end up dead by his brain failing on him and hughie, left really scarred and so the end yay everyones happy
I think a train will end up being in the final fight against homelander, we could already kinda see his character development in s3 and he realizes how much of an asshole being a superhero has made him
I personally feel like MM wouldn't care about Butcher taking permanent compound v because if that means ryan is safe from homelander and they have a shot at killing soldier-boy as well and MM was told Butcher only had a few months left before he passed I feel he would understand eventually.
Homelander wont die in s4 neither, without him the show is literally grounded same if billy dies. But tbh homelander wont be easy to kill with ryan on his side, also compound V doesnt make butcher stronger than temp V, so i dont see him beating homelander without the help of the boys.
If the show had to get rid of either Butcher or HL who would you rather see go? HL is possibly the greatest villain in tv history. The show could survive if Butcher wasnt around though it would be a big loss.
I have always thought that Ryan will eventually die and that is what will set homelander off. Now that we know from Gen V that Neuman has the virus i think Ryan will end up getting sick and dying from that virus. We know the Boys show only has a few more seasons left and the whole show has been about a race to stop Homelander before he snaps and takes over. The writers are near impossible to predict and have always gone against the grain. They can go 100 different ways with the endgame for this show but i do see at least 5 seasons and that something will happen to Ryan and that is what will break HL. Two things i dont want to see as the ending is Ryan defeats HL or Butcher defeats HL cause those are just way too predictable. Maybe we see HL actually go in some kind of redemption arc before Ryan dies or something like that. I also wonder what powers Neumans daughter got and if she got her moms powers.
I think butcher will kill homelander and Ryan will try and kill butcher because of it and butcher will either kill Ryan and then be killed by hughie or be killed by Ryan
Homelander and Ryan truly and honestly connected as father and son. Butcher wont be able to break that bond by just killing HomeLander, and Homelander seems to HONESTLY care about Ryan. My crazy bet: Homelander doesn't trust anyone else to back him(Ryan too young), so he clones himself(minus the human emotional part), disguises him as Black Noir. The clone rebels, HomeLander actually has a redemption arc which the clone HATES(that human part), and sacrifices himself to save Ryan. Then it's up to Butcher to finish the fight and take care of Ryan, maybe not as the father he is NOT(and not trying to replace Homelander), but as a friend. Or maybe it's Ryan who will learn to be human by taking care of Butcher until he dies.
I think it will end at the fifth season because Chase Crawford sign the contract extension to be on the show until the fifth season but that’s just my thoughts
The creators have hinted at 5 seasons but I guarantee you Amazon or whoever will try their best to get more seasons. I hope we get another spin-off or something cause I absolutely love the Boys universe and Gen-V has been very good also. I wish they would make 10 or 20 seasons of the Boys but 5 seasons is all we will probably get of this amazing show. I wish they would at least make a few more episodes cause it's so entertaining.
