There's actually science behind being better than average at reading people. Usually it's people who were abused as kids, because they needed to learn how to read the unpredictable moods of their abuser. Unfortunately a lot of people who were abused get drawn to more abusers in the end. Thankfully there's the lucky ones, too.

Another reason for being able to read people really well/having accurate intuition about people is a trauma response. A lot of kids who experienced some sort of trauma in their childhood likely had to get really good at picking up micro expressions. I always just assumed I was really aware and intuitive but in adulthood I'm realizing that it was probably more of a necessary skill that I acquired in childhood to be hyper aware of my surroundings. I can't say it's a bad thing, this is a skill that has been helpful in my life.

I am a introvert and had severe social anxiety who’s was forced to socialize and forced myself to socialize and I feel like I can read people rlly well. I meet people and can read them pretty quick

I was the provider for my household. My husband and I agreed to which of us was better at staying home with the kids. My late husband was great at being a stay at home. I can't even imagine to even think that I'm any better then him because I was making the money. I think it all started out with how these annoying people are raised. Just sad how these men are being treated

When you have gone through trauma and were not ever protected as a child you learn to be super aware because you always had to know you’re surroundings and who you were around . So you develop this ability to read people .

Yes you're so right about discernment Josh! It does seem like you are spot on about ALOT which is part of the reason I watch your channel. I've been in /put myself in such diverse situations with diverse people. I grew up in a bubble so I purposely exposed myself to the world, when it was time to fly the nest, and as I explored I learned SO MUCH. I float my own boat about that too, Josh, and time and time again I'm right. It comes in really handy.

I wouldn’t say extroverts are better … a lot of introverts just sit back and watch, taking in a lot of others behaviours and attitudes

It’s actually sad that they look back on their video and think it is funny or their behaviour is acceptable, especially in front of children. Absolutely gross parents. Hmmm, not parents, rather. Just people who had the ability to have children but are not equipped with the proper skills that defines them as parents. Our society is in a big mess.

Josh I think doctor Kirk said something about the defense mechanism that we develop when we are children- even as small as 18 months old - the mechanisms that help us assess what mood etc someone is in and if we are safe around them or what do we need to do in order to survive… i found it very interesting because I’m also very good in reading people, their intentions etc. and I think it’s the defense mechanism that I have developed… and I think you did too. It’s very interesting… he talked about it during one of his reaction videos to Love is Blind.

I lived in the same spot my whole life. Never moved. I do come from a large family and I’m constantly around others from family friends and etc.. . I’m introverted but I do read ppl as well, I always sit back and observe ppl, their vibes, and the energy they give off. Maybe some of us are just blessed to have that trait .

Your childhood and mine could be the same one. I probably went to over 20 different schools in my life and my mother made really bad choices in men like marrying 2 different men after 2 weeks and the other one in 6 weeks that doesn't include the 1 night stands and child predators she brought home. I just get a feeling about people and I am Almost always right! My husband grew up in the same house had a 2 parent household and went to the same school his whole life. I have been married for 38 years and I have tried so hard to not make any of the poor choices my mother made. My mother exploited me and my younger sister all the time. she exploited my sister because she was very sick and she got attention from her sickness. She used me by putting me on a corner in Ft Meyers Fl at 13 by myself in a bikini selling flowers around Easter and mother's day. I could've been kidnapped or murdered but it made her and her boyfriend like 1300.00 in 1 day and I got 40.00 to stand on a busy street corner in a bikini top and short shorts. I would have NEVER allowed my daughter out of the house or even own and outfit like that

I good at picking up on people. I think its a few reasons but the main reason is my parents owned a grocery store growing up. So I was around all kinds of people and had to be cautious as a kid. Now I work in Healthcare and that quality helps!

I think alcohol around kids can be healthy if you’re showing them that you can have a beer or a glass of wine occasionally at a football game or a trip to the beach. But it should be every few months not like every weekend getting intoxicated in front of them.

Josh...my mom could read people just like your mom and you. Like she would call my old friends out all the time to me. When I was a teen I'd never listen and I'd end up with my foot in my mouth chewing on my shoe. When I grew up into an adult I actually started listening to her especially when I was single and dating.

I have excellent discernment and my bullshit detector is primo! This is WHY I am an introvert. More people than not are complete self centered assholes. Not all, but far too many to want to go outside and deal with them. I can go and and dea with people, interact and be interesting and interested. I can talk to most people, but I have someone figured out pretty quick. I listen, not talk, I get their story and catch their quips, lies and insecurities quickly, I also catch their softness and their goodness. I always have been able to do this. It's not something to exploit. Everyone lies, usually just to avoid a topic, but often to cover up something else that is something they are hiding or embarrassed about. I am loyal, I can see into the depths of people's souls, and their secrets are safe with me. But it's a lot, so much info uploaded is overwhelming... so I am an introvert.
