I can't get Xiangling out of my mind. Yesterday I was sitting in class and I asked the teacher if I could go to the toilet and she said "Guoba!', I think she meant to say "Go out!". After I came back to class and I sat down, I looked in the book, it was a biology class, and I saw a jueyun chili, I tried to ignore it, but when I came home and loaded Genshin, I swapped to my commissions team which was Wanderer, Yelan, Kazuha, Zhongli, when I went to my first commission, "A Small Step for Hilichurls", as soon as I they got in my render distance, I saw some pyro numbers on them and they instantly died, I was so confused, I googled it and I found nothing so I just left it there, thankfully none of my next commissions were combat ones and I was saving resin for the next day for the Fetter drops. The next day while I was going to school I heard someone say "Nice and spicy!" on the phone, I shat my pants, I thought xiangling was after me, since I had shat my pants, I had to go home. When I got home I saw my mom cooking and she said "Out of the frying pan, into the fire!" i nearly got a panic attack right then and there, I ran into the bathroom and held my hands to my ears, but I started to see Guoba everywhere, he would slowly apparate in front of me while I whimpered in the corner, smelling the boiling blood of my parents, I was so scared, I heard every thundering footstep as xiangling wandered around with her "The Catch", I tried to peak outside when suddenly Guoba saw me, instantly xiangling said "Guoba, kiwutsuke!" and as I say my final words, all I can feel is the pure, no ICD, res breaking pyro application. goodbye, cruel world.
If they wanted to nerf Xiangling, they could easily do so with "unintended bug fixes" that attack her no ICD, snapshotting, etc. None of these are documented features in her kit. We've seen this happen to other characters before. The fact that they've left it alone for 3.5 years means they're okay with it. Personally I don't think Xiangling is OP, it's just that all her ER problems are solved by being paired with an OP all-in-one buffer/healer/battery that can spam funneled red particles to her. She's Scottie Pippen to Bennett's Michael Jordan.
I'm not lying when i tell you that the riots that those nerfs would cause would be too big for hoyo to handle, i'm talking hi3rd bunnygirl suit levels of danger to da wei's life
The reason why xiangling is so good is because of her off field capabilities bro. She is so good for pyro reaction..but does need Bennett, but that's how she is balanced bro. She does good dmg each time her pyronado gets in contact with the enemy and lasts up to 14 sec, that's why she is considered cracked bro.
The thing about Xiangling is that she’s actually terrible for new players. She’s a burst-dependent character which feels terrible in overworld, which is where you spend 99% of your time for your first 20+ hours or so in Genshin. I remember when I started playing I read everyone banging on about how amazing she was, and felt I was missing something - but she’s only good in Abyss and she has quite a low power floor but scales very well with gear and constellations.
Because the abyss is where things truly matter. For overworld there is no timer, so you could do a 2 minute rotation and it still would be fine + overworld are really easy. Abyss, however, spike up the difficulty significantly so when people say x unit is good, they mainly mean x unit is good in abyss.
@@domi8499and that's what's wrong with genshit infact: only abyss matters, overworld is either impossible to beat at low AR, or ruin hunters and fatui go down in seconds at high AR.
So does every burst reliant unit, you think TC’s are grading units based on how they feel in overworld content, the content that can be cleared by physical Amber?
Nah when i was new i put 3 star em sword on Razor threw Guoba out and then pressed Razor E to oneshot everyone with overcharge so she was good in open world no burst even required

Imagine how much text there would be on the screen when playing a hyperbloom team lol Bloom. Bloom. Hyperbloom. Hyperbloom. Bloom. Bloom. Hyperbloom. Hyperbloom. Bloom. Bloom. Hyperbloom. Hyperbloom. Electro-Charged. Bloom. Bloom. Hyperbloom. Hyperbloom... Plus all of the dmg numbers from Raiden, Nahida, XQ and Yelan
@@lucasfranke5161 So you're telling me that all the letters-and-numbers-fest on my screen when I play hyperbloom is the *nerfed* version?! Honestly though, it makes sense why they'd do that, aside from potentially causing problems to some people w/ certain neurological pathologies, it might also just become a performance issue at that point.
I've seen so many efforts by the devs to make Bennett less relevant over like 2 years now. But I never see them care about Xiangling being too OP. People say Xingqui is a secret 5 star, and put him on the same tier as the other two, but they never cared about him either, infact gave the game another version of him. They really just pick and choose what's problematic for the game. Or they really don't care as long as Liyue units are busted.
Madame Ping was prolly going to be the Xiangling powercreep but they ended up releasing Cloud Retainer, Arlecchino is Xiangling powercreep (sniffing copium rn)
sorta? i am not sure, Fischl and Sucrose are still crazy. Fischl especially keeps getting better and better and better. you can make the argument that Bennett is being discouraged because of If you were to tailor gameplay to his strength, it would be a boring game in the longterm. and when people praise Xiangling for her damage, what they mean most of the time is C4 Xiangling + Bennett, not her on her own Zajeff loves Xingqiu, but with Furina he has gotten a lot of competition. I dont always have a need for hydro anymore, and when i do i may use Yelan over him.
As a casual player I love hyberbloom because without it, I would never be able to beat floor 12 at all because most of my characters not that invested or built so my two hyberbloom teams carry me in many abysses
@@harryfox3681True at high investment but at lower investment levels it can definitely be argued that at lower investment levels, transformative reaction teams such as hyperbloom are a lot better than hypercarry teams. Hyperbloom and to an extent aggrevate have a High damage floor but a low damage ceiling compared to hypercarries where they have low damage floor but a high damage ceiling which is why u never seen reaction teams (except nilou but thats an exception) used in top speedrunning
Hyperbloom was essential for f2p. Its the national 2.0 if nothing works these two will. Edit:- guys I am not saying that you have to use national on one side and hyperbloom on the second. Even f2p have at least one good 5 star team that can clear one half. The problem could be the other half. what you need is a reliable and versatile team that can handle it. Before hyperbloom was introduced national was such team. Now we have option 2. Eg:- What if enemy is immune to pyro then hyperbloom can work.
@@chomusuke1593 overtime you get the cons from shop. You don't start getting abyss 36 star as soon as you start anyway. It would take time. National and hyperbloom are not just for new players. I have been playing from 3 years and I had to use national a lot of times as my last option in abyss.
I really wish Quicken had its own symbol so that more players could understand that it’s its own thing. A simple half electro-half dendro symbol would be perfect, and it wouldn’t even be that hard to add.
After over a year of playing Alhaitam & Keqing I figured out that quicken is still active even though there's a dendro symbol on the enemy, I used to think when the enemy has both electro+dendro symbol only then it's quickened, truly a Gojo figuring out Reverse Curse technique moment.
quicken was designed to have a near infinite aura that keeps reaplying itself when you attack a quickened target with electro/dendro, it's so busted lol
I've always thought that genshin needed an option for cascading damage and text rather than the clusterfuck it has, and it would also be nice to have access to a combat log to look at it and see what characters did what with which ability.
Hyperbloom is more broken because of how easy it is for a player to Initiate Rainbow Bladework and fight using an illusory sword rain, while creating the maximum number of Rain Swords.
It's good that they 'overtuned' (as you would put it) hyperbloom because it's capped, if it's strength is gonna be capped it's actually probably under-tuned cause other characters will get more n more future options that can make them stronger in different ways while hyperbloom will be left behind.
Nahida C2 and Nilou says otherwise. There is nothing stopping them from making a future character that just goes something like, "hyper bloom triggered by this character deals more damage" or similar mechanics that increase the damage ceiling on these reactions other than EM.
I struggled to 12 star abyss with my rational team because i hyper invest on the wrong character. I thought raiden would carry the team. But swap artifacts on raiden with xiangling and the result is much better. C4 xiangling is better than c0 raiden which is one of the most popular carry in the game, that is crazy.
I appreciate Xiangling and by extension those other strong 1.0 4 stars Xingqiu, Bennett, Sucrose and Fischl. The fact you got these strong units without needing to go for 5 stars is great. Without them team building for f2p players would be terrible. Maybe not necessarily my favourite unit to play (I don't love or really hate it) but I appreciate her existence.
Text ICD happened back in 1.5 iirc, I remember jinx and tuner were streaming and everyone was losing their minds over it, but then jinx did some quick math and said "so yeah now that she has an ICD on CA you need to be doing N2C / N3Cs etc etc" (paraphrasing cant remember the exact combo) and then half an hour later someone from kqm messaged them it was just the text not showing up lmao
From what I've read online, Xiangling being good was completely accidental, Hoyo at the time didn't have a good grasp of its own combat system, so when the fanbase minmaxed the shit out of her, it caught Hoyo by surprise. And the reason why Hoyo lets Xiangling keep being good, without nerfing or powercreeping her, is because there is a very large and VERY dedicated CN fanbase that pretty much worships Xiangling as their goddess, and to hurt her relevance is to incite their wrath. And sure, Hoyo can shit on us western fans all they want (they do it for sport at this point), but they would never EVER dare to challenge their CN fans. Remember, the whole reason they buffed Zhongli was because the CN players made them bend the knee.
Sounds like fanfiction rather than facts. Her power comes at the cost of high energy requirements, garbage energy generation and requires specific buffs for her to be stronger. There is also no reason to increase her energy cost from 60 to 80 from beta to live if they don't know what they're doing. The same goes for fixing Xingqiu's hydro application from applying at every rain sword to adding standard ICD.
@@joy11185but the main thing that breaks xiangling is no ICD and snapshot. If either one of these things were absent from her kit she would be way worse than she currently is. To me, it seems like Hoyo wasn't aware that stuff like snapshot and no ICD would be this powerful, because ever since then a lot of things have been unsnapshottable.
I thought that the beta testers chose Xiangling as the abyss 3rd floor free character because they figured it out how broken she was, yet they didn't change it. Like, as zajef also says sometimes, this is a gacha game. You can't just put overall bad or good characters and weapons. You have to bilance them. Having broken units like Fischl, Xiangling, Xingqiu and Benny is good also for Hoyo because they can do pretty good baits with the 4* rate up. The more I see of this game, the more I understand thay every single pixel is designed and intented as it is and it is profitable for them.
I just wish they'd make a side grade 5* for each 4* OG like Yelan is for XG - to provide options especially as 4*'s aren't as ftp friendly for new players as 5*s are
I think his arguments about Xiangling being good because it lets tryhards and casuals feel strong without being spending is a good argument. I would argue that it limits their design because it hurts other pyro units since they need to be significantly stronger or as easy to play, which is an argument I can begrudgingly get behind ... And then imagine the amount of double takes I did when he said hyperbloom was a mistake because it limits their design because it hurts other units since they need to be significantly stronger or as easy to play, ignoring that it lets tryhards and casuals feel strong without being spending! I get hyperbloom is more pervasive than pyro being irrelevant outside of a few characters, but it was still wild seeing the two takes back to back with no self awareness or some statement that's like "I know what I said sounds similar, but let me explain why it's different."
Wait , calling casual gamer cringe is in itself cringe too. I mean TC gamers spend more time on TCing than on playing the damn game , at that point are they more gamers or are they just basically studying for the next release ? Like SOME of you guys stare so much at the leaks to the point that the when livestream reveals it , you know it all , when update hits , you know where everything is already. At that point you might as well just watch playthrough right? I'm sorry don't beat me but i just feel that casual gamer is still gamers , not every country have good labour condition like the west do where you can spend so much time on games without sacrificing sleep or work. Sometimes people just want to have fun and enjoy the childish story or scenery in game , not just trying to Darksouls it.
I think all gamers are cringe. We are all from the same breed who just play video games instead of doing anything productive. If you want to TC then TC, if you only care about waifus then collect them, if you don't care about any of these then that's fine too. Just don't take anyone's words on the internet seriously.
You misunderstood him. He said that Genshin appeals to both a) casuals, and b) "Gamers", where "Gamers" refers specifically to tryhard gamers. You know the type, people that think they are smarter than you because they edit Dark Souls wikis or imported the JPN language version of the latest Shin Megami Tensei. He's saying it's cringe to use "Gamers" as a category due to association with the cringey tryhard culture, but there isn't a better term since more people will understand that way.
The Free To Play 5 being as strong as they are is definitely a "good thing." But the REASON is also partially because Hoyo seems hesitant to powercreep them out of the meta. Yelan, a 5 star, is still just a sidegrade to Xingqui. Furina has some negatives compared to the two and isn't an automatic replacement. Bennett is still unchallenged in his niche. Because Hoyo knows that powercreeping them would be a very dangerous proposition. So not only do free players have strong, easily acquired units to slot into their teams, but the rest of us have a small bulwark against powercreep.

@@jonnevitu4979 you misunderstood pulling weapons and c6 unit is optimal since it’s the only way to increase a team dmg outside of artifact quality. That being said, it’s a considered a waste of money, time and resources for most people compared to pulling new units that are funnier to play than just doing more dmg.
@@ChAnTAxR you do you my friend, getting c3 raiden back on 2.1 was the best investment of my f2p primos Ive made, literally never had issues on abyss and could pull for who and what I want. artifact quality only comes with time so theres no reason to waste freemos on it.
4:00 same... i also tought "Huh.. now i can play BotW for free.." The combat in this game is also fun, but we know that they only give one or two good combat events, and they go towards other casual mechanics.. (yeah, im talking about you TCG for taking GBs on my storage for no reason...) Because of that, the game only grows to the filthy casuals.. also kind of sad that they release some simple/needed QoLs after 3 friggin years.. Here's hoping that ZZZ and WuWa will bring that combat itch i've been waiting from G game... For f2p reasons, just build Transformative reaction team than a Hypercarry team.. cause Hypercarry teams are friggin expensive while Transformative teams are faster and cheper to build.. pretty much 5* weapons are not worth, and all most 3star and 4star are the best weapons in the game..
The reality is that gamers want to be good at games that casuals play. The reason for that is to brag, and to be a part of the top players. If you clear Abyss you are some of the top players that is not common it's not something even 80 percent of people do. For casual players it will probably take to the end of the game to accomplish that. Why? because you need to do a rotation regardless of how strong your heroes are to create elemental reactions consistently. It is easy if you know what you are doing it's very difficult if you don't.
This is such a bad take, you clearly aren’t a “gamer”. 1) Most people don’t even attempt abyss or even can 36 star it, so no, it’s not 80%, more like 30-40% 2)endgame isn’t just harder bosses; endgame is content for after the main storyline, currently, Genshin endgame is just resin and commissions with the teapot on TCG, aka, boring stuff that is unrelated to the actual game itself.
Genshin is the most f2p friendly game for endgame players. If you pulled for every single character in version 1 and then never pulled again, you'd still be able to clear abyss. We're halfway past version 4 now. How many other gacha games can say that?
The issue with this statement is that hyperbloom teams are only truly busted when you have Nahida, which newer F2P players might not have and they are the ones that would benefit from it. Older F2P players, such as myself, never needed it. By the time 3.0 rolled around, I already had two solid teams and my account grew so much over those patches that I never saw the need to play into hyperbloom (+ Dendro as a whole, except Tighnari and Baizhu because they're cool)
@@marqkc older ftp have years of farming behind, ofc they have more options, I hv only one year and can't even 36 star abyss, the difficulty of floor 12 it's absurd compared to 11,the jump it's huge and I have nahida also but Ganyu freeze just can't keep it up, we need more reactions like hb actually, way more ftp friendly, no need to farm for cv for years...
Ah, sweet innocent child. Let me corrupt you with the gamer cringe. "what kind of gamer are you joker" "gamer have many lives" "batman beyond most oppressed group"
The reason why Genshin is popular is how broad it was and the date it launched, once you realize that at some point the game stops being a game and it becomes a C tier visual novel you either are invested or you just still hope they can go back to it, the game on the first versions played more with the idea of roles, co-op, GoW/SotC like fights and leaned more on a BotW like exploration. The huge amount of people who tried it because the pandemic got them locked up and with nothing to do went and recommended it to others and it grew, the game quality was amazing considering it's a game available on phones, add to that how it has no competition and the whole premise was top tier. Most of that isn't here anymore, the lore is good but the storytelling is atrocious, the gameplay has been scarce at best and they do neglect the combat, people have a weird mindset, if you don't like the current state of the game you're doomposting, any criticism is shunned and you are told to quit way too quickly, player retention isn't a issue but that's just now, why do they have to wait for things to go south before doing something? People think that WuWa will kill GI or won't but it's just the beginning of the disaster really, once that game releases it has a target audience guaranteed, other companies will realize and we will get more games like WuWa, Genshin but with more rewarding and fun exploration, Genshin but with an stellar storytelling, all of those will take a bite at Genshin and eventually people will realize that Genshin is a game hard to quit but even harder to come back to, once you break the routine you find yourself swamped with low quality quests and seeing how much you missed, all of it easily avoidable because they have done it already with the TCG, if you like it you have something to do when you feel like playing, nowadays all you have is abyss every two weeks and it takes 30 mins tops for players who already knew how to clear, for a game that sell characters they sure ignore the gameplay portion while having them or not means absolutely nothing to the supposed story driven game...
He counter his argument by himself. Xiangling is OP yes, but it's not the reason genshin keep attracted people especially casual. If it's the case casual would quit before they experience how OP is xiangling, why? It because xiang has a major flaw that casual won't survive build her, while has poor energy grneration she needs ER, EM, good crit ratio, some atk% with eosf, very demanding. And those eosf released on 2.0 before that you just struggle. Damage wise, without vape reaction her damage not that impressive and guess what it means you need consistent hydro applicator, who? At that time it XINGQIU whose need eosf too. Good luck build them for the new player especially CASUAL. I'm not include Bennett yet. My point if you arent meta slaves and/ dedicated player its no way you can build that roots of National Team. Casual won't last long.
as if casual players even care about optimal team, they will pull for whatever character they like and put 4 of them in the same team and go running around in the openworld or do some quest, thats what casual players do most of the time, some of them even hate bennet just because "meta" player keep praising how broken he is, casual players dont care about all that min maxing stuf
