i think that's why dylan took this role, besides probably loving this stupid comedy with humor he always displays on social media, he is completely aware he doesn't look like a bad boy
It is really hard for child actors in tv to get into more serious roles but yeah atp I think they’re either completely over it or just doing it for fun
@@angelbaby9374holy crap I know him 😭 I've seen him in Glee Project, he was such a sweetheart, now I feel bad that he ended up doing stuff like After and this one
No. I hate that in discovering the phrase pick me we’ve used the term to just belittle anything a female character does. You wouldn’t be so nit picky if it was a guy character. I get not like other girl girls can be irritating but let’s stop using it to then in turn out down women, so backwards.
iI'm not surprised he didn't notice but i WISH dylan noticed all of the subtle After hints in this movie. Like they have the roommate watching After, which is funny cause dylan sprouse plays a character in the After movies (Trevor). And then during the party scene, when the good guy love interest is on the couch, there are two people passed out who are very clearly supposed to represent tessa and hardin (their wearing the same outfits from the scene shepley was watching on TV). As well as a guy at the party standing next to dylan sprouse wearing a 'Fucking Trevor' shirt. Not to mention that Jesse and Benny are also actors from the After movies
Fun fact: in the book, we don't know about the poker stuff until Travis founds out as well. Also, the reason he calls her "Pigeon" is because his mom said one day, he would meet a girl that would make him feel like flying, and it would be his 'Pigeon'
Dylan is so brave for willingly putting up that dance video onto the internet without any coercion, for all of us to see, where it will outlive him and become immortal
This film was good ....as a comedy. I watched it with my sister in the theater and she tried to stop me from laughing out loud too many times (she failed)😅😅 I'm telling you ....I HAD A BLAST !!!
I find it hilarious that with so much mention of After during this, he never ONCE mentioned that Dylan was also in After, and that he liked him there too??? Love that 20 year old memory
As someone who read the book when i was 13 I DID NOT REMEMBER THE PIGEON PART As soon as he called her that i ran to the book to check cause i couldn’t accept that i “swooned” over a man who uses pigeon as a nickname…i was a very different person back then😂
I guess it's healthier than After. They were both a demented as each other. He didn't corrupt her or try to control her. They were just awful people and equal in the relationship. Still dumb, but I'd prefer relationship depictions like this.
'i want to be around you, you're good for me' is the weirdest line for that moment said in the weirdest tone. i just started cracking up when he said it
Bro the way I felt insulted, weirded out, and absolutely SO put off from the delivery and the confusing nature of the aggressive tone mixed with sentiment???? Not him trying to be sweet AND an asshole, all at once. Can we pick, please?! I have honestly never cringed harder.
Dylan’s commentary on how he would change the film made up for the whole experience truly. Dylan should be a director, I would watch/read anything he writes fr, I love it so much
His little laugh at the end when he says „see you next MoNdaY“ is sending me because he knows that he will in fact, NOT see us next Monday but rather on a random Wednesday in two to four weeks
I did this when my dad died. I was trying to cancel my gym membership at a expensive gym. They tried to make me feel bad by saying I was “giving up on myself”. Then I told them my dad died and couldn’t focus on fitness at the moment. They felt super bad and let me cancel without paying a fee
i'm surprised no one is talking about how dumb a conflict is being good at poker and then trying to "leave the complicated past". that's a skill, not a conflict.
I'm not sure Dylan would read this but i genuinely wish he'd make a few serious movie commentary. He seems really well versed in the field. I'd love to take notes from him in cinematography, direction, screenplay, etc
“i don’t want to have sex with you bitch, i want to be around you” is quite possibly the funniest line ever written edit: apparently he said pige, not bitch, which honestly makes it worse 😭
Ngl I don’t think they care that much 🤷🏻♀️ Which is a vibe My personal theory is that Dylan took this role so that the studio would pay for him to learn boxing/get ripped
27:00 Dylan is a GENIUS. I would love to see a romance movie where everyone thinks the guy is a weird psycho but he's actually just random, eccentric himbo. omg someone get Hollywood on the phone.
sometimes i try to explain to my friends why i find dylan attractive but then they see him doing shit like turning up the volume with his shoulder and i can’t explain myself
Hell yeah. This is VEGAS MAFIA. And the US gun ownership is literally this: "The survey stated that American civilians account for an estimated 393 million (about 46 percent) of the worldwide total of civilian held firearms, or about 120.5 firearms for every 100 American residents." KNOWN civilian gun owners in the US are almost HALF of the civilian gun owners IN THE WORLD PS. I know you were probably aware of all this and you were not surprised in that way, I also got a shock respnse being Argentinian myself, but just felt like looking up the numbers, for emphasis' sake. And boy did that emphasize things
Omg, the “you’re a very cute sleeper” was awful. 😅 I used to go to the same coffee shop everyday in college to do hw, and since I was constantly tired I’d take naps in the middle of studying. This guy who regularly tried to talk to me but made me uncomfortable came up and said, “I saw you sleeping, you looked like sleeping beauty.” Can confirm, this is not cute.
this is strangely my favorite comfort video, its my favorite one to watch OVER and OVER again. i love watching him slowly lose his mind and it is just as funny everytime 😭😭
I think best thing about this movie is that it didn’t take itself too seriously like After and leaned into comedy. Was actually somewhat watchable. Maybe it’s cause of Dylan Sprouse idk but both main characters had good comedic timing and I like that they didn’t focus too much on making it extremely sexual film.
My favourite genre of Dylan videos is just watching him commentate on film adaptations of fanfics and know that he has to take multiple days off to recover from the loss of his sanity
"His only downfall is that he's not a toxic man. And that's going to be what keeps her from him" Dylan stop exposing every romance aimed at teens for the past 8 years
Never have I ever seen someone happy the creator doesn’t respond to comments, what an interesting perspective I never thought of and makes perfect sense for this channel lol
the dead silence at 19:55 had me CACKLING out loud. God the cringeee "I might just be dissociating right now" same though. Virginia and Dylan are both SUCH good actors, I feel like thats part of what makes this movie bearable/funny/entertaining. So Bad Its Good because they can actually pull SOME of it off
18:42 their dynamic is actually crazy. is it just because my brain is almost done developing? I might have ate this up when i was a teenager to be honest.
The actress looks like if you took the actress of after and tried to recast her from memory. And the fact that Dylan is in this movie makes me think that this is an alternate universe where Trevor is basically harden and he gets tessa. This is now cannon and we’re living in the after multiverse
Answering Dylan at the end, the characters here are very different from the ones in the book. Abby is more stoic and committed to leaving her past behind, Travis is less goofy, Parker is more a jackass and Shepley is not a dumbass (that one pissed me off the most lol). Also, that scene where Abby meets Travis' family is def more meaningful and purposeful in the books. The set up for them discovering her she is a poker player is way better and more impactful due to her reluctance to play the game with them at first, not like in the movie where she practically jumps at the opportunity. And, she forms a meaningful connection with one of Travis' older brothers, Trent. I know the book has many red flags, but I still think that if they had kept the integrity of the characters and worked a little around the toxic stuff, this movie would've been better/less cringey. Like, I love terrible movies and chick-flicks, and I think everybody did a good job, but this movie was almost unbearable to me 😅
