Kevin Durant trades are the talk of the NBA right now. With teams like the Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans, and more making offers to the Brooklyn Nets. However, there is a HUGE problem with all of these Kevin Durant trades...

My top four teams I see KD possibly being traded to are Toronto, Phoenix, Portland and New Orleans. A Toronto trade with the focus being Scotty Barnes, Phoenix maybe a sign and trade with Deandre Ayton , Mikal Bridges, Portland's centerpiece would be Afernee Simon's, and assets. New Orleans would be BI or possibly Zion, of course all these players would be package with multiple draft picks and other players.

I don't know why all of you RU-vidrs think the Nets want mediocre players like OG, Siakam, Herro, Bridges or Ayton lmao The Nets either want a superstar or a group of GOOD young players with all star potential and at least 3 first round picks either way. Toronto, Miami, Chicago and Phoenix don't have the players or picks that the Nets want so its not happening, drop it. And what KD wants plays no factor into this decision. He'll go where the Nets send him. Think bigger, kid and look at the precedent.

The most important box in need of "checking off" before you trade for Kevin Durant is the one reading: "Yes, I'd like to sign an INCREDIBLY expensive guy that just torpedoed an entire franchise 'cause his boyfriend told him to. And I'd like to empty the roster to do it, please. Thank you." THAT'S the one that wasn't mentioned here.

One thing everyone forgets with the Warriors trade is that you can't include Wiggins. He's on a designated rookie extension (Same type of contract as Bam), so you cant trade for him while Simmons is on the team. And without Wiggins its super tough for the Warriors to match salary.

hear me out. Anfernee Simons, Shaedon Sharpe, Eric Bledsoe, and the all the draft picks the Blazers can move for KD. It would have to wait a month until they can actually trade Shaedon Sharpe, but this feels perfect to me. This was always gonna be the biggest question of a KD trade: What exactly is his value? To me, Brooklyn needs to get back an All-star/All-NBA caliber player, a young emerging player, another young guy or solid role player, plus a handful of picks. Even if you didn't have the "can't trade for these guys due to Ben Simmons" That's still a really hard trade package to put together for almost every team. I do think KD does end up playing for Brooklyn at least to start the season, and maybe halfway though, if things are going really bad, they could just lower their asking price and trade him than.

No, he specifically said CP3 chance for a ring is practically vanished. Not Suns. Theoritically, CP3 would only get worse with age, while others at Suns would get better with it (experience)... normally its still good, but because of the Ayton situation, the young Suns become better isn't gonna be enough for them to balance the main star (CP3) getting worse. Even if they trade Ayton for something similar value in asset, it wont immediately fix the problem, they need more time to build chemistry again...which means more time...and CP3 will get even worse. Sure KD can just hop in the bus, and play crazy good again. Become a savior in that deadlock situation...but doing that is exactly what happen in GSW. GSW have a hurdle in LeBron, Suns have hurdle in time. Jumping to an already built ship with good captain & loyal sailor...they cant be easily hijacked. Even if the captain is in decline, but his leadership & the crew loyalty cant get faded easily...even more if the "new guy" who want to be captain have less leadership ability than the previous one. And everyone knows it. Let the ship handled by the one who left his ship? For what? So he can left again if the situation getting though? As long as CP3 there, KD wont be viewed as a leader. CP3 could hijack it from Booker, and everyone okay with it, because he has great amount of experience & leadership skills, now KD try to hijack it from CP3 is an almost impossible task.

Thanks... I ran similar analysis and came to same conclusions (I also considered Lakers, Portland, Memphis, Boston...) On Top of that, Pausing this whole trading thing makes perfect sense from Nets standpoint as well - The Ben Simmons situation disqualifies the Best offers for them so why not put this whole thing on Hold, start next season with the same team (you can still trade Kyrie if you want), see what you have in Ben (you don't even need to play KD and Kyrie in the first couple months), make your decision whether you want to keep Ben or not AND THEN you move forward with trading, either before the trade deadline or maybe even next offseason... I know if it is next offseason then Kyrie will be a free agent but hey, you are not getting anything for him right now anyway, so why bother...

I don't really see a reality where we get KD and don't fit our entire roster/future to do so, so this whole "KD would make the Raps a contender" nonsense is not realistic in my opinion. PLUS, as great as he is, I honestly don't trust KD, I don't fully believe he's THAT guy (either than the golden State years where he had the two greatest shooters and a DPOY all time stat filler as support) KD hasn't had an amazing playoff history, i.e. just look at his recent run in Brooklyn vs the Celtics. The fact that he hasn't talked to either since the end of the season and dodging management, speaks to his mindset. When you look at the number of trade pieces that are going to be necessary only a couple teams really have enough pieces where they can lose a few and still be in the running. Obviously Golden State who I hope would never be dumb enough to trade for Kevin Durant when they have such a great young core and an optimistic future and maybe a team like Memphis who I could see doing something like this but wouldn't advise it. I'm wondering if, based on how many unprotected free agents have gone to lesser players in this free agency cycle, a new normal of players that are too big to trade. If they were five pics, both protected and unprotected, given up for Rudy gobert then how many have to be given up for Kevin Durant and is that even possible?
