The One and Only Rodney Dangerfield on the Tonight Show (1971) 

Rodney has kept me laughing at some of the lowest times of my life and I can't thank him enough. He's up in heaven keeping God laughing, thank you Rodney.

Rodney will always be the #1 comedian of all time. This is the first time I've ever seen The Tonight Show when it was in NYC. I was only 11 in 1971 and couldn't stay up late enough to watch it. It came to Burbank, my home town, in 1972. One evening a friend and I were getting on the freeway and Johnny was in the next lane driving a cream and gold Rolls Royce. Being teenagers we excitedly waved at him, he winked and gave us one of those finger/pistol gestures. I'll never forget that.

I was born in 71 and he's my all time favorite comedian.

I always love that little air fist bump Rodney would give on the "batz" in Vinnie Boombatz.

Interesting to watch how Mr. Dangerfield's act and accent evolved over the years on the Tonight Show. What a great performer. The audiences loved him more and more as time passed.

I can't believe this man was so funny and charming! I only knew because of the Simpson episode starring him and the Rover Dangerfield movie. Bless this funny man.
