i too broke many vinyl records decades ago, but now im in the perfect pass of the sci-fi digital realm of tron, and it's on a whole different level, a new world of reality 🤣 .
Raz, you are an inspiration to a lot of us.I just want to say thanks for everything. I can hear the frustration and disappointment in your words, don’t be so hard on yourself brother. Take a short break, focus on drag for a couple of weeks and come back to speed running. I’m almost 💯% sure the “light bulb” will come on, and you will have it figured out. We’re rooting for you over here in New York. You got this Bro🤙🏽🤙🏽
I can relate to having a slump, feeling defeated, spinning your wheels, whatever you want to call it. But Raz, you have accomplished so much during those same months. You have added some amazing new products, thank you very much by the way, you have rebuilt your cars back to their pristine condition. Yes at a great cost, but you know better than anyone that records don't come cheap or easy. Please celebrate the wins and great strides that you've made in advancing not only your cars, but also thousands around you. Now that's something to be very proud of.
Don't forget why you do the hobby in the first place. To have fun. You already earned the title of the speed run goat not because you have the top speed but because you help so many others get started into this madness which helps the hobby grow. You should be a proud Papa!
I don’t really get invested in many vloggers and their journey but I have to say, I love your energy Raz and I can feel your heartache when a run turns catastrophic. I like what you said about it not being your time to shine but in a way you still are. Looking at the other people putting up 200+mph passes, I can’t help but think of the saying “We stood on the shoulders of giants”. I don’t think this hobby would be anywhere near what it is without you and it’s just a matter of time that you’ll show us something new. Looking forward to more of the drag runs! Drag racing is a sport that I really hold close to my heart since childhood. I’ve just recently got back into RC and my next build is a drag car so I’m thrilled to see what you come up with. Keep doing what you’re doing and we all will be right here following along.
Please don't give up!!! If speed runs where all happiness, rainbows, puppies n kittens everyone would be doing it and kicking ass and breaking records. Only a select few special people with hardcore dedication like yourself have the ability to go all in throw caution to the wind and let er buck! And that's what motivates people like myself and gives us the confidence to go out and try knowing the "big guys" have just as much of a hard time chasing that PB. Thank You for keeping it real Raz, keep up the good work!!
Raz, please don't give up! Good times come and good times go, you will get through the rough patch. I am in this hobby because of you. I have every perfect pass part for my V2. Please keep going down the drag racing rabbit hole, it's a lot more achievable to the average person that doesn't have a long smooth road to do the speed test on so I think it appeals to an even bigger audience. I believe both are equally as interesting, good luck keep the faith.
I completely care About you Raz your Inspirational!! You got me to get back in to RC again man!! Please go the 30 of June to Rossa! Your to Great of a speed runner / RC Man not to go!! Dont let it get you down...You will Prevail
I can’t understand why things are not coming together for you. Your prep and attention to detail is second to none!… I can only think that it must be down to your road surface / prevailing wind / heat. Maybe a different location is what’s needed. ROSSA could be where it comes together for you (assuming you can get hold of the batteries you need). Love watching your content Raz 💪💪
Raz man, everyone knows how talented you are and can see how far you've taken this hobby. And we all love and respect what you do. We learn so much and enjoy your work so much. Don't dwell on trying to find a reason for your bad luck. There is no rhyme or reason to the way life unfolds - it is what it is, as they say. Forgive me for preaching but hate to see a dude suffer. You have so much empirical data and evidence to in support of your success. So don't engage with those negative thoughts and let them go. Keep on truckin' brother.
It’s extremely hard when things go this way… be it in RC or any other scenario in daily life, extremely frustrating and mentally draining Raz.. You will get through this and Excel as you always have… just to note, your editing skills haven’t been hindered by this rough patch, video was smashing and very entertaining 👏👏
For drag, I would adjust the throttle curve a bit. Wheel spin = acceleration/speed loss. A little less power off the start to give the tires a chance to hook up, then ramp it up quickly. Also they make sticky compound for the tires. If you are allowed to use it.
Love the longer form video! From watching some "real car" drag folks, a lot of it seems to be suspension tuning and the right tyres. Excited to learn more about RC drag racing here on your channel!
Raz, please don’t give up! We just love to see you struggle so we know life isn’t always riding a bike downhill. Just love your video’s and your style. Keep your head up!
Raz you’re an inspiration and the vids are top notch! Keep the faith. The rough times will pass and a fresh perspective will come. I agree with many of the others who have suggested ROSSA still..Even if just to spend some good times with your buddies and other dedicated hobbyists! Thanks for all that you do for the RC community🤘🏻
17:06 completely understandable to be dismayed and disheartened by the string of bad luck. Success or failure your builds an commitment to this hobby is truly inspiring. Keep on keeping on that record is in the bag.
Raz you are an awesome guy!, I feel your frustration I’ve had weeks where I was questioning leaving the hobby. I got into speed running when I got sober 6months ago and just broke into 150’s yesterday after lots of crashes ..my first infraction gt completely destroyed and on my second v2 limitless, countless hours and more money than I’d like to admit on lipos chassis ect but YOUR videos are why I keep pushing! I love making a clean pass and getting a pb now because of all the crashes, makes it that much sweeter! Great video I hope to see your video from Rosa because I know you’ll get some new lipos and be out of the funk by then, it will be your time! God bless you Raz! You are the real speed run🐐 220,s+ are coming!
Love to watch your videos. I know that things will pick up from now on. In my opinion, if you want to break the 220 barrier, you'll need to do something radical. I haven't seen builds with custom molded carbon fiber chassis and shells, it might give you the edge you need. For example, making a monocoque tub-type chassis like a McLaren, more rigidity, and less weight because you can eliminate some supports. You can maybe implement an active aero package, front lip, and spoiler. When it senses elevation, it can lower the front and raise the back to stabilize the car. A couple of servos and 3d designed parts can help a lot, I think. The main benefit is having real-time control over the down forces. The other thing it occurs to me is that perhaps a different suspension and / or wheel setup is necessary. Of course you always thrive to use the best components available, but perhaps you'll need to develop something else entirely, like larger carbon fiber wheels, even asymmetrical front to rear. I see that everyone is reaching the limit there. Any leap forward will be on those fronts. Best wishes!
Raz you are much more to your fans than just a speed run guy. You are such a light in this dark world. It's just a test. Don't let this rough spot dim your spirit
World Records are hard. Do not get demotivated Raz, you are awesome! Improvements could be -> Longer Support Plate (wavelength air flow) and Tires Cutouts Body (air turbulence wheel housing) -> use the air Raz!
Things happen that try to make us quit but the moment you accomplish your goal will make it all worth it prayers for you that everything starts looking up.
The drag racing is always a sure fun way to deal with the down side of speedruning and I do know you’ll fight through this ruff spot just as you did in the 160s! These v3 shafts I hold in my hand are epic along with this PP carbon fiber chassis awaiting to be built, but I’m begging you😂 PLEASE DO NOT STOP PRODUCTION OF THE v2 carbon shafts! Keep fighting the good fight! Also once again, thank you! Great video, Great products, and always Great runs!👊
I have no doubt you'll get out of your rough patch stronger than ever Raz. I sure hope to see you at Rossa if it's just to poke fun at Kev. Much love from the Netherlands.
It was cool to see you enjoying drag. Maybe take a lil break on speed runs to recharge your batteries and mess around with no prep drag. The drag scene could use some perfect pass parts 😜
All the greats go through their moments of despair. The days when the gremlins just wont stay away. Life at the edge is sharp. But, keep up the good work. Work the problem and find a solution. Aviate, navigate, communicate. You've got this. Keep up the great work :)
Common storyline for those that achieve greatness- these struggles are what can separate you from that, if you don't go through them. A breakthrough is bound to happen. Best of luck Raz.
It must just be the darkness before the light!! Your dedication and passion gives us all so much inspiration. We appreciate everything you do for the community!!
Hey Raz, you break, you learn. You have a splendid player / learner mentality. You will figure it out and overcome it at one point. At the level you are, resilience is paramount! Keep on the journey!
Raz. We all want to see you succeed ! You inspire the whole speedrun community. Don’t quit on us 😂 sharing information and releasing good products is far more worth to us then breaking world records 😉
Raz, full scale drag racer here! 4WD cars have a very different launch to RWD stuff. whilst RWD cars can (within reason) hit the tires hard off the line they use the weight transfer of the vehicle to push the driven wheels into the tarmac to leverage the vehicle weight into traction. 4WD full scale stuff has to take off slower as with each of the wheels being driven the vehicle doesn't load the wheels up nearly as much. full scale 4WD also cheat a little and slip the drive from the centre diff to the front axle when launching, I think GTR's can go as low as Front25%/Rear75% torque split on the launch to try and get those rear wheels pushed into the road! keep at it its a battle to get those time but it'll be worth the fight!
Hey Raz I concur with others here saying you need the front to be allowed to raise up on the hit to allow the weight to transfer to the rear and then have it slowly return as you go down the strip. You could see in the slo mo the stiffness of it caused the car to unload the tyres as soon as the transfer of weight happened and the energy couldn't be absorbed which would normally keep those rear tyres planted.. The front needs lots of droop allowed and travel/extension to allow that transfer.. Looking forward to watching you progress mate..
@@paulreichelt1259 Yep sure do.. had them in all my steeet/drag cars.. I didn't want to mention the 90/10 in case Ras wasn't aware of them or having to describe them.. But for sure that's exactly the effect he needs for drag racing.. 👍
@@malsmith2012 i saw in his video he has watched his car in slow motion lift as it takes off , maybe he could watch some footage oof real cars in slow motion to see how they react?...
I here ya brotha, I'm in the nprc scene here in Canada. made some great strides with a couple drag cars but I'm in the same boat, hit a wall with my outlaw can't seam to get it where I want, wrote it off a few times. actualy just sitting at my desk getting ready to re build it lol. good luck to u buddy ! hope u break down that barrier and get that new record 🤟
I’m a car drag racer. And a lot of our tuning is power management. Every time you turn the tyre your losing time. You need to use a traction compound on the tyre. You are also going to need a wider tyre. Generally on a drag setup, you will use a 90/10 front shock and a 70/30 shock on rear with a reasonably stiff spring. This is for better weigh transfer to the rear tyres. If you could design a 4 link rear end would help with planting the rear tyre hard. The harder it accelerates the harder if pushes the tyre into the ground And the lighter the car the better because a lighter car will always have a faster acceleration potential. So personally I think a single motor very light weight will be a better combination
Raz to improve your launch and loss of power since the front end is lifting you will need to move up your lipos to provide the weight. Remember it’s all about weight to power for drag with perfect balance. The alternative is to add a wheelie bar to the back and then you can load the weight up on the rear axel to lay down the power. It all about tweaking but definitely make room to allow lipos to be adjustable to permit fine tuning the balance!
Hey mate , Raz you'll get past these rough times.. Look at all the great comments and support you have here from people all over the world... I'm watching you from a country town here in South Australia!
Can’t wait to see more drag racing from you Raz, I switched from speed running to drag just for this reason got waaaaaayyy to expensive after crashing all the time my best times are 1.6-1.7 on a dry tire
I have had the same cloud over my head also. To the point where I haven't even been to the local track😒. I've got a pile of esc's and motors people would give their left nut for all ruined for different reasons. You starting to get into drag racing has given me an idea, I need to change direction at least momentarily....it's summer time maybe fast boats. Thanks for all you do! 🤙
For drag you got it going pretty straight which is 80% of the battle. Maybe add a wheelie bar in back to minimize the jumpy rear. I'd leave the car as is and just keep gearing up until you get the times you want. Once you got it straight you've won...that seems to be the hardest part.
Cars are pain. Raz you are such a great guy and you make great videos and build awesome cars! Sometimes taking a break from things helps but don't quit! One day something will click in your brain and you'll figure out why the crashes are happening . You are a smart man you got this Raz!
Your achievements are legendary! You set your goals ever higher , so your struggles now will only mean you reach higher levels later! And just never forget what you have achieved with Perfect Pass, not many of us manage to make our hobbies our way of making a living! You and your journey are awesome. And thank you for taking us with you 👏👏👏
I know it's frustrating but please don't be too hard on yourself. You inspire even in failure and your failures help inspire innovations leading to breakthroughs that elevate the entire hobby for the rest of us. We appreciate your struggle and thank you. ❤
Raz, another trick for drag racing get some tire conditioner spin the tires in it get them sticky, also move your batteries back you want rear-biased it's the opposite of top speed runs you want the weight on those rear tires.
Raz you are a pioneer in the game because of your knowledge and experience you made a lot of people smash their own records, maybe just have fun again and do what you enjoy we don't watch because you can beat records we know what you are capable of we came for the crazy records and thumbnails and we stayed for you my man just do what you enjoy and we will watch
I'm just your average RC guy, I'm more into bashing than anything else but I absolutely love your channel! I'm so impressed by what you do, it's amazing. There are a lot of guys that can make their cars go fast but your personality combined with your speed runs are what keeps me always coming back. This rough patch your going through will eventually go away and as you said maybe it's just not your time to shine at the moment. Personally what I would do is maybe just take a very small break from the speed run cars just to focus on the drag cars. Maybe that will ease the frustration a bit and get you thinking more clearly about whatever is happening in the speed runs. Also, can we all have a laugh at how amazing the first like 9 minutes of the video were with all the use of the word drag lol. Obviously it's very clear you're speaking of drag cars but once I got it in my head I giggled like a small child every time I heard it. Maybe build a speed run car while in drag! That'll lighten the mood!! Anyway love the channel, I won't make this freakin comment any longer than it already is.
Awesome video Raz, you’re editing is so enjoyable to watch. I know it takes a ton of your time to make this happen. Thanks for being honest about the hobby but keep on pushing the limit. You’ve done so much for the speed run community.
Keep it up raz! I know it hard to do videos all the time with life curves but your doing great keep pushing, viewers from around the world 🌎 are cheering for you!
Out of all the speed runners i want you to smash the record you deserve it you help so many people with your parts and knowledge ONE DAY BRO it will be you KEEP IT UP
Raz, sometimes when a person is so passionate and excited about something, they can tend to develop a kind of "tunnel vision" that is like looking through a Micro-Scope and focusing so hard on something, that you're not "seeing" what you once were, at the beginning stages. Taking a break from speed running for a short term and allowing your thought process/critical thinking skills to work on something completely outside the norm, can restore/refresh the ability to analyze and invent and bring a new found ingenuity to the entire process. I think that its possible that this is what has happened to you my friend! It may be a simple case of "Trying to Hard"... And taking a break, to return later after relaxing and resting is usually the best medicine for that. You're an intelligent and very capable man that is full of passion for the things in life that you love! But it appears that you have forgotten about "RAZ" and not been taking care of HIS needs that likely put you in this bit of a "spot" you find yourself in! I learned this many decades ago from a very important Mentor in my life and at those times, when I've found myself feeling as you now are, I force myself to follow the advice that I've passed on to you! It's like a "Miracle" and it has never failed to restore...
Thank you for a nother bagger Raz! And welcome to the drag world! Been anxiously awaiting for make a drag build! All your current endeavors are just educating you for your perfect 230mph world record run on the 30th 😁 Best of luck brother, chin up, you're the goat!
