@@brunobrf3165 I have friends and family in Cuba, many musicians. Did you know the Stones left all the equipment they took there, as a gift to the musicians who need it? Awesome cats deserve my deepest respect!!
I agree that Sacha Allen has an excellent voice, and in this performance of "Gimme Shelter," my favorite Rolling Stones song, she steals the show. She also looks the part in her sparkly silver dress, but I hope she was wearing underoos cuz that thing was SHORT!
Everytime, Every single time!!!!!!! Mick always shows love to the black female singer, and the rolling stones always paid homage to muddy waters from they name to they music that's so much respect, when I listen to rock people say "why you listen to that white people music" the stones always aknowleged who they hero was and where they music come from
Considering all the parties, drugs, booze and women they went through, it is astounding the Stones are still rolling strong! It must be their music that keeps them young!
This is the best version that I have ever seen of my favorite Stones song of all time. Everything that other posters have said is spot on. This version has everything: Band interaction with a huge grateful crowd in an exotic location, The incredible way that Keith and Ron were into the song. even Charlie cracked a smile or two, the awesome sultry interaction between Mick and Sasha . I also loved the slow tempo. Even the quality of the video is superb. All and all just an incredible performance.
This is my favourite song ever. I have watched many live versions and witnessed two on the No Filter Tour. This is certainly up there. For me Glastonbury is the best but I do love the chemistry between Mick and Sasha. Must have been amazing to be at this concert 🙌😊
Now that's Rock N Roll. It was beautiful seeing children in the audience, knowing their parents were not born when the Stones started, their grandparents would of been the generation that first saw the Stones and yet the kids looked like they were having an amazing time, along with their parents and I saw some who would have been around in the 60's.
im thrilled that the world gets to hear the GREAT Sasha Allen. One of those workhorse singers that has been plucking away at the business for years and finally gets the grand stage she deserves. A vocal BEAST!
I have this gig on dvd, and love it. Love the way cameras pan into the crowd so frequently. The Cubans are showing their happiness and appreciation of this concert. They are so lively, interactive and simply enjoying every moment. Wonderful. For me, this gig is one of my favourites. I love the way Latinas throw themselves into concerts. One can see this with their reaction to Pink Floyd gigs.
I just received a RU-vid 2022 Recap informing me I played Gimme Shelter 106 times. No where near enough times. My resolution for 2023 is to double that.
We're all so old ! But seriously , nice performance , but gimme the studio version anytime . I saw them 5 times , first time in 1970 in Amsterdam , then 1976 or 7 in Den Haag and those 2 are still the best ones . 70 with Mick Taylor and 76 was the first tour ( Black and Blue) with Ron ie Wood . Only wish I was in Scheveningen on their first visit to Holland .God ,I've known since I was 10 years old . My whole life I've been a fan . Stones on Cuba , who could imagine that 60 odd years ago .😮
Vor 35 Jahren, in meiner Jugend, habe ich die Aussage nicht verstanden "Du musst dich entscheiden, ob du Beatles oder Stones hörst." Stones höre ich seit damals, verstanden habe ich es erst später.
I was always all about The Rolling Stones but I have learned to appreciate both. They were both brilliant in their time. The thing is The Beatles were a pop band, but the stones invented rock and roll!!! Long live ROCK, and long live The Rolling Stones, definitely the best rock and roll band of all time!!!!!!!!!!
This gets me every time I see and hear it. Never would have thought anyone could have come close to Merry Clayton who still owns the best back up vocal of all time on record but damn Ms. Allen that was suburb. God I miss you Charlie.
R.I.P.🕊 - Rest In Paradise🕊 - Descansa En Paz🕊 CHARLIE WATTS!!! ... Thank You For Your Talent On The Drums, For The Music You Gave To Us With The ROLLING STONES!!! Your Musical Legacy Is The Mark You Leave To Mankind!!! My Deep Condolences To CHARLIE WATTS's Family, Friends, Loved Ones, The Band!!! Thanks So Much!!! PEACE🕊
Hard to believe that geopolitically we're in almost the same situation as they were back when this song came out. We're once again one stupid mistake away from blowing ourselves back to the stone age
They are pretty much always really good, but they really put it all together on this version, and with great video and sound as well, timeless. And geez, Sasha,, a bit of pressure??? Cuba, the legacy of that song and the vocal bit, 500,000 people? She hit it 100%.
