She probably wasn't sure if there was a mole in the operation but definitely expected that there could be so when Rick's team was demolished, she wasn't as surprised. Rick Flag is disposable to her. In chess terms, yes, he is a valuable asset like a knight, but not as valuable as a queen or a good developing position. If she just sent some low-profile villains in the team to be caught red-handed, the Corto-Maltese anti-American regime guys might suspect that the first attack was just a diversion. She was playing a gambit. She put one of her valuable pieces on the line to make it seem like it was an actual mission when it was actually just a diversion. Also, Rick kind of lost some of what makes him valuable, because he was kind of untrusting of Waller by the end of the last film. It's all a game of danger levels. Yes, Flag could've died from the siege, but she was fine with that. If he wasn't dead, even better. That's why she wanted the other team to save Rick Flag when she noticed that he was still alive. Why not save your material if you could? The whole task force x was created to take on risky missions in full expectation of certain death or failure. It's their intended purpose. The writers might not have planned it, but this just makes sense to me. At the end of the day, Waller just wants the job done at any cost necessary. Some other stuff you criticised was... Kind of nitpicky, which is fine but we are talking about a DC movie. Just let your suspension of disbelief guide you through it. Why didn't anyone hear the ruckus outside of the resistance base where everyone was being massacred? Maybe some of them just don't have the best of hearing. Actually, some people did hear the ruckus. When they tried to check what was going on, they were killed right away. Were they stupid for not alerting everyone immediately? I guess, but you can't expect everyone to react logically and efficiently to everything. Somebody was even sleeping during all of that. Could be argued that they're just deep sleepers. The second guy on fire was screaming loudly but Peacemaker shot him after to shut him up. Yes, I get they're in a war and should expect some one to ambush them, but people are stupid sometimes. Even the guys in the tower were ready to shoot them down. Maybe they waited for the intruders to get near them for a clean shot, but polka dot man was faster. Rick and the leader of the resistance were like... Idk, distracted by each other. It doesn't make perfect sense, but the scene's cool and fun factor makes up for it. I do agree with your criticism on the ratcatcher and Harley scenes though. Small fixes to those scenes would've made it much better and make the Corto-Maltese government less stormtrooper-esque. The Harley Quinn plot armour is very much stupid.

So she wants to get rid of him or at least doesn’t really care if he dies anyway.

That is a completely stupid characterisation of the character by that Clown known as James Gunn . Amanda is a puppet master who is fully aware of the assets she has at her disposal and the manner in which they will be utilised. The real amanda waller would never place a highly skilled and trained millitary officer like Rick Flag in a stupid decoy squad. Placing Weasel in a decoy squad makes far more sense because the twit has absolutely nothing to contribute and has no specialised skills like Flagg .

I understand your justification, but the flaw I see is that Waller later diverted the team to try and save Flag. If Waller didn't trust Flag, I don't get why she would have diverted the mission to save him. Even if what you said is what was intended, the movie needs to make that clear. We shouldn't have to fill in such a major blank with speculation.

@@GIGio_Official if you know Waller from the comics you know that she's just meant to be a c**t lol. She holds no value for life and everyone is expendable in the name of the us government. Even tho she tells the team to eventually go rescue flag, knowing Waller it's meant as more clean up than rescue. She lies to the team and tells them to kill on site despite it being a camp of resistance fighters. She doesn't trust flag and would rather he be dead or at the very least under her watch to avoid him being a lose end.

@@GIGio_Official James Gunn said that she put Rick Flag on the team because he made fun of her shirt one time and everyone laughed so she wanted to kill him off which is pretty funny. It would have been nice to actually have that be in the film.

Its still stupid . Why sacrifice highly skilled personel like Rick Flagg? Amanda is a puppet master who uses people when they serve a useful purpose hence why she pushed for a secret covert group of unique individuals who can be used to carry out unique missions. Disposing of such personel is madness and stupidity on her part because they dont come along every day .

Harley's ultimate crazy. James tried to convey it in the random flowers during her escape - but in reality it could have either been a blindsided massacre or just three guards. I hope this helps you understand her plot armor a bit.

i think thats obvious. shes not a character you fear for so Gunn never tries. he focuses on other characters like King Shark where at like 2 points you think "oh no hes gonna die here". or Rat Catcher.

I get what you are saying a lot of people just role with it when it comes to character. For me when I make a video I need to look at both to give the film a fair assessment. But the movie is still very entertaining.

@@romulofigueroadiaz480 They found that out the hard way by trying to copy the MCU in the Justice Leauge (2017) movie and nobody liked it the jokes were cringe and it did not fit with the style the previous movies established trying to force a style that didn't work for that universe I am glad to see that the DCEU is finally doing their own thing instead of just making dark boring films or trying to be a marvel rip off since I am getting upset seeing tons of characters I like in DC getting bad movies which ruins their image because the general public doesn't read comics so if a movie makes a character bad than people will think that's how its suppose to be.

That is what confuses the hell out of me. The movie should have definitely made that more clear.

We was not the one that found him. One of the employees found him and well she could not really say no then.

Waller hoped for Flag to die on the beach with everyone else, but since he didn't, she couldn't just let the enemy take him and possibly torture him for information about the mission, like they later try to do with Harley.

Yeah, kind of a hot take from me is that I don't think anyone should have full creative control. I don't mean have studios interfere, but I mean surround yourself with people who will rein you in if you go to far, people who aren't afraid to tell you something doesn't make sense. Film is a collaborative media for a reason.

Oh yeah the Bar for the DCEU is laughably low. I let the video speak for itself, but I think a lot of people that judged the thumbnail before watching the video is going to be in for a surprise.

@@jonathansolano9648 well still i would disagree harley was definitely not a highlight of this movie but scenes with king shark polka dot man ratcatcher 2 was pretty fun and near the ending i enjoyed the movie too it was overall a fun movie the only scenes a lil boring was harley scenes but thats because they switched from here to there too much when harley shot the president i was mesmerized but then it changed

Haven't seen Shazam in a while so I can't judge that, but Shang Chi, is probably a 4/10, but that is subject to change on a second viewing.

I get what you are saying. I can concede with the 3 guards point, but I think that at least the solider in the passenger seat should constantly be checking the camera, and with shotgun while it is a minor point, the shotgun belongs to the Cortal Maltesian solider. So I doubt it's too high tec of a weapon. If it was that kind of advanced weapon every solider should have something like that or at least should be established somehow.

Damn great comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I agree 100%. I honestly forget sometimes how much well written characters can really save a movie and this film reminded me of that. I do think Gunn should work with at least one more writer though like he did in Guardians. That way his script can be the best it can be. But yes this movie still with all it's issues is pretty solid. Thanks for the support and can't wait to get to that flash video after Superman and Lois.

@@GIGio_Official Thank you,I appreciate it,I'm pretty sure James Gunn having too much control over the movie has to do with his proving himself and all of us that he can do better without any help since this movie main existence is because both Disney and Marvel Studios fired him all by so harmless tweet,but like the Guardians of the Galaxy movies,he managed to blend the characters and story very well written and the recons of they comic book counterparts were brilliant and fits in with or without the sores material,so yeah the movie was extremely solid and was alot of fun also much better that addictive drug,and when Superman and Lois and Flash Season 7 reviews comes out,I will be ready and will support you as much as I can.

Yeah they rushed harleys story so much that there isn't much to look forward to story wise for her. The way Margot talks about seems like it was on purpose to get to Ivy and Harley as fast as possible.

Okay but my question that is why would Waller think Flag was taken by rebel fighters. For all she knows he could have been captured like Harley. It's a pretty big leap of logic to make. especially if she wants him dead. It's also hard to believe that Flag would be able to make it Jotenhieme with just rebel fighters.

@@GIGio_Official as you said aside from the plot armour the suicide squad gets on a daily basis a group of rebell fighters under the leadership of Rick flag as a very high chance of reaching jotenhiem almost as close to the suicide squad. In the whole movie whatever feats the suicide squad achieved before reaching jotenhiem was not impossibly hard for a group of rebels to achieve let's be fair

Fair point about Harley, but to be honest the moment Harley was off the radar Waller should have blown her up to kingdom come. And its no like the military didn't have base camps in the jungle. So it would be a safe assumption to make that he was taken by the military

Yeah that scene just confused the hell out of me. I should have said in the video that the army should have separated them into different trucks.

Currently it sits at a 4/10. I like the fight scenes and the way they use the rings, but the Villains plan is pretty bad, plot has some issues, and Shang himself is kind of bland. We don't really get a lot from him. But this is subject to change after a second viewing. Tomorrow I'm go through that community post and reply to more comments about Shang Chi

Yeah the film is very enjoyable. And the title of the video comes from the fact I've seen people say this movie is one of the best CBM or takes like it is better than GotG. And yes the characters are fantastic, but more often the not people will value characters over plot and then judge the film based on just the character work. So i decided to bring the movie down a peg, while still singing its praises.

I guess we will have to wait to find out, but trust me when i say I think you will be genuinely surprised after watching it.

@@GIGio_Official Okay, after watching, I have some thoughts. No, I did not notice the plot nonsense, but now that it's been pointed out, I can't unsee it. My biggest issue with the film was James Gunn seemingly lacking any kind of care for the lives of the characters. He would kill off anyone, and everyone, and it didn't matter if they were a legacy character or not. If he wanted a death to happen, it would, and that made the final scene feel weirdly hollow. Sure, Flagg's death was built up well, I'll give him that, but Polka Dot Man was killed off for a joke. Considering James Gunn's entire thing is making us love characters we've never heard of before, I really expected the new additions to get more respect than they did here. I dunno though. That's just my 2 cents.

I haven't seen Shazam in a while. May need to adjust ranking after a rewatch.

We might be in the minority, but Myself and everyone I've shown Shazam too, which includes at least 4 other people thought Shazam was god awful. Zach snyders Justice League is #1 IMO.

Yeah at first I wasn't too sure of it, but the more I watched it and saw the character work, I was like "Fuck this is solid". Really fun movie

Small details matter because if you are paying attention to the smaller details chances are you will be making sure the bigger things in plot are air tight. The smaller details could easily be waved off if the bigger issues with the plot didn't exist

I also forgot to mention that with Harley if we’re talking continuity from the movies she has been shown to be a capable fighter, a good marksman, got herself out of more situations that SHOULD have also killed her and is capable of having dumb luck and breaking the forth wall so I personally don’t have a problem with her living from the situations she’s in this movie

I get what you are saying, but allow me to ellabotate. I always try to pick apart the logic of these comic book movies, I did it with Black Widow and with the Flash, except for the Flash I was talking about character logic rather than plot logic. If it was just a couple leaps of logic i am willing to suspend my level of disbelieve, but every main plot point has some problems. However the movies was still able to pull through because of its fantastic character. I still like the movie. I just will the internal logic in the movie was consistent. Hopefully this clears up my thoughts and hopefully you will enjoy my next video if this one didn't do it for you.
