@@Angel11a she was a main character & part of the main cast since the pilot episode. Paul & Kayla talked about it at a convention panel themselves last April 2023, it's on RU-vid.

@Angel11a Right! I never really cared for her character she was just useless, annoying af, air headed, and drug junkie who only cared about herself.

Vicky was an annoying expendable side character. She was barely more memorable than coach Tanner. Her death carried no emotional weight lol

@@Taewills everyone has their own opinion though. She was important to Matt as his sister. As far as the shocks for the actors too they had all become very close since the pilot & were scared too since they were told by producers & main director that they were all expendable & anyone could go at any time. They've talked about it at fan convention panels.

I would say that it is true but up to a point... Obviously NOT having "Real world morals infused on a supernatural show" ASIDE, the show itself has moral discussions about killing and the context around killing... Even tho it is part of their instincts to be predatory, the show itself has conversations about it not being ok or something to be embraced or celebrated if you want to be remotely close to whatever the characters call as "maybe a good or decent person"... So death is still a moral dilemma to some extent; not even close to how it is in real life, but it isn't black and white as "vampires nature is to kill, therefor all character in the show think that them killing is ok or justified or good" Also, while Stefan's "diet" is a rarity I don't think we can say that he is the only one in the world; and more importantly, there are shades of behavior regarding killing or hurting people outside of Stefan and Damon's approach.. We know some that, even tho they are not "vegetarians", they still go for the approach of: "never touching a human being to feed or to harm them because they don't think it's ok" (like the vamps that live just solely on blood bags) and it goes to extremes even beyond what we see of Damon right now, with vamps that jump from one murder, attack or abuse to the other without even blinking... So even accounting for predatory instincts, choice still plays a big factor and what characters choose is something that goes into the internal moral dilemma of the show

@@Alewaxon spoilers ********** - I never said that killing is justified or good. I was saying it happens often. And that them being so shocked over Vicki and then discussing how bad a character can go and now writing wise they’ll make up for it makes no importance because they’ll all (vamps) kill tons. Hence why we as the viewers who have watched the show aren’t as shocked in alter seasons when killings happen. Stefan is known to be one of the only ones we know of doing the diet due to being a ripper. It wasn’t a decision about him being a good person and not wanting to feed on people - he just doesn’t have the control to feed and not kill. (As we see develop later on when he does it little by little) PS. It’s not just about predatory instincts, it’s about how far gone their humanity is.

SPOILLLERRRSS SPOIILLERRSSS Oh no, didn't think you said that, my implication was that whether or not the characters inside the story would think that it is "justified or good" because of those reasons... They 100% wouldn't... they would try to square it to some sort of moral scale, meaning that there is some type of moral compass and moral thinking inside the show (even if it is very different from real life)... Also, they are watching the show for the first time, them asking this question is not only normal, it's also necessary to engage with the show... The show clearly sets ups some behaviors as worse than others and while (almost) no character has clean hands, some clearly have done worse than others by the eyes of the characters, and those actions need to have consequences... So yeah, there is a lot of death and most of the characters have a long list of bad deeds, but we need to keep those things in mind, them killing someone can't simply disappear from our minds as viewers or from the minds of the characters as soon as the episode ends... The shock factor certainly lessens, you get used to some characters doing stuff or you can pick up the reasons why they do it, but whiting the show those actions still carry a moral value, that value usually has more to do with the reasons and context behind the killing than with the action itself... I can agree that simply the act of KILLING, or the morality of that act isn't the main issue; the REASONS WHY it was done becomes the main point of moral dilemma Well yes, that we know of, Stefan is a rarity when it comes to that condition, but the "solution" of feeding from animals (which he is doing because of his condition) isn't necessarily that unique, there could be cases of other vampires that do it or have tried doing it for other reasons, other traumas or other beliefs... And Stefan is doing it for both reasons... YES, he is doing it because he has a condition that takes over him when human blood is involved, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, he doesn't like what he does when that affliction takes hold... If he didn't care about his actions or because he doesn't which to be that "bad" person then he would simply let his blood addiction and "ripper" behavior run free... The reason why he takes the steps he takes to check himself IS because he cares and/or because he considers to be WRONG what he does when he looses control... If he didn't, then why take steps to hold that back? Being the ripper actually satisfies him and makes him feel intermediate gratification, so why would he ever even consider stopping himself if he didn't think it was "wrong"?... I don't think feeding of animals could realistically be, in 1k years of vampire history, unique of Stefan; in fact, other vampires knew about it being not as strong as human blood and there is a reason why Lexi suggested it, meaning that she knew about it in theory as a weaker way of feeding... Also, as we see in the show, Stefan does built up a little bit of a tolerance to human blood, but that's how far he can get, he will never be a vampire that can carelessly feed from a live person, even after all the tolerance-building in the world, there will still be a line that makes him loose control... he just gets better at pushing that line a little bit further each time... But his ripper condition isn't something that can be "fixed", just as it wasn't something that was created by his mentality about being a vampire... we learned that from the episodes where Stefan had no memories, no traumas and he was clear that he was a vampire, and still he was crazy frantic around human blood... That arc answered the question many viewers had about basically "Nature VS Nurture"... His addiction to blood was there even without all the issues of his mentality about being a vampire that were usually thrown around to say that he is responsible for that "sickness" of his vampirism PS: I'm sorry if I went too much into the direction of talking about "rippers" 🤣

@@DellaMcgee-mc4rf regardless of her coming back, she’s still dead. she’s not herself anymore. stefan killed her dead after damon killed her. it’s why elena got rightfully mad at damon instead of stefan. it’s self explanatory.
