Not gonna lie, Maggie's story of the ambushers was so haunting. It felt like a scene from The Road with the cannibals hoarding people in...some really gnarly stuff. I highly recommend watching The Road (2009) if you guys need a new movie to watch!

Daryl used that mace in the whisperer war when they attacked Hilltop last season, hope to see more screen time with it it’s too badass!!

Do you remember that it was only supposed to be Abraham? Negan told them (after Rick hit him) that he’ll let that one slide but they better not do it again. Then Daryl does it again and Negan had to go again.

In case folks haven't noticed, it looks like we will see a lot of cool callbacks to previous seasons. The season premiere featured a word-less cold open for the season, the first since season 3. This episode is a "tribute" to Glenn escaping the walkers by hiding underneath a structure, like Maggie did here. A grenade also reappears in a prominent role here, a callback to the group escaping the CDC in the season 1 finale.

I'm wondering if the other people at the processing facility were really going through processing or if they were Commonwealth people planted there to rattle our group and mess with their heads. On Talking Dead when they were discussing how Mercer told Eugene he was a shit liar, Josh McDermitt was hilarious, saying Eugene took that as a personal challenge. Eugene basically said, "Hold my beer," and proceeded to teach a masterclass in the art of lying. LOL!

Rick Grimes and Mercer are the same character except one is well educated and apparently paid attention in his 10th grade government course.

I wonder if Maggie's story was a lie because it is nearly the exact plot to the X-Files Episode "Home" Maggie would of seen it as child and it makes for a good story. Mayhaps Maggie stumbled upon a couple families in a house and pulled a Saviors type move killing them and taking their stuff so her and Herschel could survive.

Gage could have saved...possibly, because the door did close after Daryl put the bomb in the walker's mouth and kicked the walker...he closes the door and it stayed shut. The could have let a few in at a time. .take them out, move them aside and repeat

Maybe the writer was a fan? Edit: My dad and I joked around about how Daryl had to shoot all the zombies from an inch away cuz he never uses a gun so he probably can’t aim it. 🤣

Daryl is wielding a "Morning Star"...another medieval name for a 'flail'. Thats why the episode where they defend Hilltop from the Whisperers and Daryl shows up with the weapon...and hence the episode is named Morning Star

They couldn't let Gage in and close the door behind him because they wouldn't be able to lock it back; they weren't simply opening the doors, they were breaking through them. We just have to assume that the locking mechanisms weren't able to be fiddled with for whatever reason, either because of old age, because maybe the locks for all the doors were electronically and not mechanically set, etc. Also, I'm loving the development of Maggie and Negan's dynamic. Because they're so open and honest about their feelings since Negan decided to "not be dragged through the mud", Maggie and Negan can at least trust each other to not try to murder one another while simultaneously not expecting each others' help (unless they're forced to help, ofc). As soon as Maggie made her intentions and feelings clear, I expected Negan to behave the way he has (because he decided to cut the shit), and I'm happy it didn't cost anyone their life. The whole point of their confrontation inside the train is Maggie's emotions causing her to get a taste of her own medicine, leading her to want to trust Negan more for survival, rather than constantly disrespect him. That's also supported by her story about how she thinks about survival before letting empathy take over.

Just to clarify. Gage & Roy were the cowards that took the ammo & ran away & lost them. Which is why they ran out of bullets. Gage didn't close the 1st door behind him which caused the walkers to enter. The second door was rusted, hard to close & open. Maggie didn't think Gage was worth taking the risk to bust that door open. Sorry to the Gage fandom.

Well.. Gage did run off with his bag of supplies and the other dude had a whole bag of ammo. He was a coward, but he was also a stupid kid who didn't need to be there. Also, people seem to forget that all these doors in the train carts were rusted shut, and they showed that multiple times the episode with all the other said doors. So I don't believe it was possible to just open the door, let the kid in and just close it again. I'm with Maggie in this one, I don't like it, but well... She's a hypocrite and so is Negan. (Sorry about my English.)

Remember the mace? Daryl had one when he used it in the final battle against the Whisperers. It's a medieval weapon called a morning star. Also, let me say that Daryl was giving me some Rick Grimes badassery. He just barreled through those walkers. Heck yeah! But these Reapers are some serious bad guys. We're gonna need the Holy Trinity to come forth. That's what I call the team up of Rambo Carol, Ruthless Widow Maggie and the old Negan that was a heartless killer, with possibly a better crafted weapon than Lucille. That's the dream team. Those 3 on screen backing each other up and kicking ass would be so freaking cool.

I agree with you guys that Princess is awesome and that her character ha sheen one of the best additions to the show.

This episode felt like it didn't make a ton of since in the walking dead universe. Like remember when Alexandrias walls fell and rick and his gang just went outside and massacred like a thousand zombies in an open town back to back? Or when they were clearing the prison or fighting alphas horde? They could use their knives to kill mass amounts of zombies, but suddenly they dont have the guts to take on zombies coming at them in single file in a subway car? And they use up all their ammo instead of just using their knives? Like it felt like the writers just nerfed everyone there to make it so they won't have ammo later on in the season or something or to create dramma. Like when did everyone get so scared of fighting zombies? The only thing I can think of that even remotely makes sense, is everyone has ptsd from the whisperers and are scared to fight them in close combat again, but maggie never even saw the whisperers. Idk, just seems really weird to me

I think that opening this door would have remained open, because Negan wanted to open it using a crowbar, not in the ways in which it would open normally. I don't want to find excuses for Maggie, but in the end, the kid ran away with supplies, and for the group's survival, he made the right choice, in my opinion.

So Elijah wearing that creepy ass mask is a bit suspicious after seeing the Reapers’ masks…which look rather similar. If homie and Maggie were double crossing our survivors to get them to leave them alone or get someone they have back I will officially hate Maggie.

My only complaint is that Daryl fired 15 or 16 shots during that scene of him clearing the train. I know that a lot of movies/shows disregard the logic of reloading and the number of bullets in a clip, but idk it seemed kind of ridiculous in that scene. That's just me nitpicking though.

Maggie and them didn't have enough firepower to take out the walkers that's why they were trying to get out the other way when Daryl showed up he took out majority of the walkers but they did not have her grenade until Daryl showed up so if they would have opened up the door for Gage they all would have been dead

The fight in the train cars was so dumb, those zombies woulda have piled up and blocked themselves with the amount they showed that they were killing, but every time they showed the corridor, there was only like 2 bodies on the ground, the lack of common sense is making this show so dumb now unfortunately
