Stinkum and Weebay are going to drop Scar, but Omar thinks not. The sync is a tad off, but believe me it doesn't matter. Then Omar delivers one of his most memorable lines urlsnippy.com/TheWire7bxkny
They used his whistle from the show when the Baltimore Ravens came out and played against the Kansas City Chiefs last week as a tribute to him. R.I.P. Michael K Williams
Remember when Chris was schooling Mike about arriving to a job early? "Ain’t no good thing about motherfucking surprises in this line of work." - Snoop
There needs to be a sequel series with Kenard coming out of jail. Being that he was a juvenile and Omar was a criminal who nobody cares about, he probably only served time until he was 21.
+PzychoMantis90 No. his character and the consequences of it ran through the whole show. He saw Bunny as a better parent for Namond than he could be in prison. Then there was the great scene of him and Chris in the prison yard, soldiers from the opposite side seeing each other as equals now that their war was over. More to Weebay than meets the eye.
Norm Appleton That's what I said, he didn't have the same role as he did in season one. The first season had him as one of the main characters, whereas the later seasons had him as just a supporting role.
+anim3z4u I think you misconstrued the meaning of that saying. In the end, almost everyone fell beneath Omar before the deus ex machina that felled him. Even Stanfield's whole crew got gutted.
Was genuinely saddened to read about Michael K Williams passing. For an actor from a country thousands of miles away that is quite something, what a sad story.
I love just how G Omar is in this scene. Takes out Stink with a direct hit center mass, then fast swaps to his pistol before Wee bey even figured it out. Then he proves his fearless nature when he knows Wee bey is going to be firing back, but walks straight for him, eyes on the target with every shot fired having a good chance of landing, while Wee bey maybe got one good shot off. Then instead of finishing him off, he just lets Wee bey know he done fucked up, and he better keep one eye open as long as Omar still be around
@@J48038 i mean his perspective wasn't far off at all and this is most wire fan's comments they look really deep into this show because it's so good & realistic which is why it's arguable the greatest tv show ever
I like how the mention of Bird in this scene by Stinkem reminds Wee bey they have to dump the guns. Boy too trifling to dump the guns after a daytime murder😂😂
I don't attend them. I just wanted to point out that you're an idiot and your way of thinking has no place in the 21st century. Seriously, a character as ruthless and complex as Omar, and all you can focus on is his orientation? Well aren't you quite the dumbass.
Omar is so badass he's like Batman and the Joker in one guy: he investigates people when they have no idea he's doing it and lurks in the darkness, spying on them covertly, then appears out of nowhere in a burst of violence, scaring the shit out of them and telling them his name. Then he seems all happy, makes fun of them, tells a clever joke or two, burns their money, winks, whistles, laughs his ass off, and disappears.
+510oaklandca Yall ain't getting it !! The fact that He got killed by a lil boy adds up to the legend.. LIke no one actually believed that, so they started their own theories in the hood.. .. That's the whole point.. Lived like a ghost, went like a ghost..
They're putting the guns in a storm drain when they're finished. Likely, the gloves are in case they touch anything else, and to prevent gunpowder residue from getting on their hands.
Weebay had some kind of code. Don't forget the way he let Colvin take custody of Namond because he straight up knew that though it wasn't what he himself wanted, it was what was best for his son.
Shout out to Doris Burke of ESPN for quoting this line before yesterday’s Lakers vs Grizzlies game. Great line to build up the intensity of the Lebron vs Dillon Brooks feud for the audience.
Too many people would have the message go right over their heads, I'm afraid. Pretty sure (based on past experience lol) that there's a large percentage that will just look at the show as glorifying criminals, and completely miss out on the underlying context and overall empathy required to fully understand it if you didn't come up around that life. I'd be fully on board, if we could get every American to watch it with an open mind to the complex and multi-generational issess that create these kinds of situations and 'characters' or people (aka 'no it's not just because of their skin')... but frankly I don't have high hopes for that any time soon. Slowly, slowly...
The rat running across the street was just too much ! A great example of the attention to detail that made The Wire the greatest achievement in the history of television.
Omar always did have a sense of drama approaching kayfabe before his death, that tune of his or his mere presence got people to give up without a fight, a lot like Tywin Lannister and his song about the Reynes.
steslevin I find myself enjoying The Soprano's more than The Wire, more so because it wasn't just drugs and violence being the main theme(I know there is more to it than that but it's just a quick generalisation), it was more to do with the inner workings of an enormous criminal organisation, as well as the mental and physical and social problems that come with it. I just found that to be more interesting to me. That being said, I think the characters were more interesting in The Wire. They had a little more background and it felt like their personalities were explained a lot more. You only ever really got to learn about 4 or 5 character personalities in The Soprano's, but in The Wire, it was almost every major character. They are both brilliant works of art though and both will go down in history as some of the greatest television of all time.
I see lots of people pointing out the rat running across the screen at 1:43... I don't think it was a coincidence. I've never seen this mentioned before, but in an earlier episode, Omar tells his crew that "rats always run for holes in times of danger." Anyone else think this was done intentionally by the creators?
Yes. The song farmer in the dell Omar is whistling has the lyrics "the cat takes the rat." First we see a cat cross the street. After the incident, we see a rat scurry across. Omar is the cat, obviously.
Imagine your a kid just chillin in your bedroom playing some videogames before bed while hearing all that happen right outside your apartment project window lmao , just hearing omar shoot and whistling threats at his OPPS lmao
There was coup attempt in Russia these days. And Prigozin PMC Wagner head came against king, ruler Putin. And did not took him down. He missed. “You come at king..”
In a show that already has the best dialogue in it, this is possibly one of the greatest scenes anyone has ever committed to paper. I don't personally know anyone who speaks this way, and I'm not entirely sure anyone anywhere does, but it's entirely plausible and borderline Shakespearian. David Simon is one of the greatest writers in history. I stand by this. Name me anyone else writing in English that could have come up with this dialogue.
Thriift - isn't that the truth. But I've found if you can watch it with someone who has never seen it before, it's like starting all over again and being an expert of the subtleties and nuances. I'm looking forward to watching it with my son as I know he will love it.
@@TKainZero He might have been a soldier, but Bird and Stink were straight up psychopathic killers. Guys I'd be comfortable sending to the front lines.
Common misconception, but he said in an interview that it's actually Elmer Fudds "a hunting we will go" from the old looney tune cartoon. That makes more sense when you think about it. They sound the same so it's easy to understand the confusion.
TerraRyzinglives Thank you for the disclaimer about the sync with the audio, nothing i can add about the scene that hasnt already been said but you deserve props for handling your videos with style i refreshed it once thinking it was my computer and if i hadnt scene your info i might have just clicked somewhere else Keep up your awesome work man!
“ You come at the King you best not miss.” PEACE KING 🖤🕊 My favorite line of all time. I quote it so much RIP Michael K. Williams Definitely a Legend amongst the tv villain Gods.
this scene is so well directed.... check out the cat and the rat.... that wasn't planned in the script,, that just happened... the scene is built-up in 3 parts... great, scene
akr010hvt, have some respect! What’s wrong with someone who’s gay. It doesn’t matter. And Freddie was one of the world’s best singers! You’re ignorant as hell!
