The WNBA All Star Voting was CRAZY... 

I think the players just admitted that the No. 1 objective in every game against Indiana is to stop CC. So they voted for her.

There are a lot of vets that don’t hate CC and never did.

I am a Caitlin Clark newbie, i.e. a "Johnny Come Lately," CC fan. As of five weeks ago, not only did I not know anything about the WNBA, I did not know anything about the NBA, or even the sport of basketball in general. But newbie fan that I am, I seem to be able to recognize how gracefully and expertly Caitlin Clark travels through her opponents, up and down the court, like they were swiss cheese, while she is a very sharp knife. And I also seem to be able to recognize how Angel Reese does not seem to do that at all. To my untrained eyes, Reese appears awkward and clumsy in comparison.

The Clark effect is undeniable. What are they going to say now ? Lol AB being 2nd and getting over 600k after Kasey year only getting 60k is wild, and she’s shining because of Clark. Clark is a good thing for this league. Hope the players take Taurasi’s lead and accept it.

Caringtons passing and shooting numbers aren’t close to Clark’s and her offensive usage is nothing in comparison. Clark has 56 3 pointers as well as elite assist numbers leads the league. Carrington is a great defender but that’s a differnt comparison.

Caitlin and Kate and Megan spent the night before with all the Iowa coaches. Plus, they both helped with the Make a Wish together with the girl with cancer that Caitlin had made friends with in Iowa.

YES, I will say it: Kelsey Mitchell is a great shooter who is having a really good season. And Boston is improving upon her rocky start. However, the ONLY reason they each got so many votes is because people have been using them to cancel out Caitlin. They really wanted one of them to get more votes than CC, to boost their narrative that...they are better than CC and more conducive to the team's wins. People are so predictable. The pettiness is laughable. As for Angel...what the heck happened to her "millions of IG followers" I keep hearing about? Only 300K votes? And all the people who said, "I'm only watching cuz Angel" ??? Not only do they NOT buy tickets or merch--or watch her games, but they are also too lazy to type in "WNBA VOTING" and make her Top 3. Methinks that math ain't mathing....THEY are the real bandwagon fans. Case closed.

1-13 place in 2023 voting total was 702,202 votes. CC No.1 place 700,735 votes this year. Candace Parker was in 13th place last year. CC beat out the top 12 totals and almost the 13th.

You don’t understand the politics of this. You said Clark wouldn’t be chosen but do you think they could deny Clark after she got more fan votes than anyone else? Not a chance. If they left Clark off there would be a complete boycott of this game. They are already going to get a boycott of the Olympic team. It would have been total suicide if they would have left Clark off.

Women's Athlete Of The Year ( Highest ESPY Award ) CAITLIN CLARK..

She's played every team except for the Lynx, I think. She's had a few stinkers on a rough schedule run... But pretty much most of her games have been consistent. They probably see her play time in and time out and have to react to her--most of the players probably understand how she's hard to defend and what she's adding to the team since they can see it every game. They probably thought she was a pushover on defense and they score on her every time, but she's been holding her own and sometimes even being a D-stopper in some cases. On offense, she's their game plan and they have to focus on her: the players defending her (Young and Copper) tend to be unable to score at all in those games. It makes sense that they'd vote for her--unless the narrative is that they definitely hate her as a person.

Allyah Boston was on the receiving end of votes because of CC. The CC/AB package. Plus AB was ROY last year.

Yes, CC and Angel are good for the game. Both bring their own fans and will increase the viewership of the Allstars game.

The fans, players and media said a 8/9th place team(Indiana) deserves 3 All Stars. This is the most by a team. Isn't that saying this coach is the problem. I think Indiana should be a 6th place team right now. They need to restock to be any higher.

Wonder what tv ratings will be? Saturday night at 8:30pm on ABC. With all the hype of cc and reese and the perception of a cc Olympic snub. Should be interesting. Could it do 5 million +?

DiJonai Carrington avg lower pts & assist than the All-Stars selected… 13pts & 1.7 Assist CC 16pts & 7assist a game Mitchell has 16 almost 17pts & 2 assists a game.. Her stats was lower.. mean nothing but they were no snub here..

This should be a fun game. It is a soap opera wrapped around a basketball game. subplots: Clark/Reese playing on the same side, Bonner playing against her fiancé Thomas, Jonquel Jones playing against a team she snubbed because of politics on how team USA members are selected, and Grinder roughhousing Aliya Boston.

Three biggest SNUBS, without question: Carrington, Rhyne Howard, Chennedy Carter. I don't care what anyone thinks about Carter, she has been the BEST player on Chicago, and it's not close. If Chelsey Gray can make team USA when injured, Rhyne Howard could be voted on the All-star team while injured and then replaced with the next player on the list if she can't play.

Speaking of chicago - reese is a good player, but not close to clark. I saw the game against atlanta the other night, and saw the same get her own miss stuff 3 out 4 plays. Best player on her team, from the several games ive watched is carter. That girl has some smooth moves, and a disrupter, as a guard.

Thanks for the upload. Voting in 2024 does not seem to determine "starters". Presumably because it is an Olympic year? Remember 2023 was East v West. I reckon starters will be determined by the two team coaches? I believe AR will start. The 2024 data available is incomplete. Perhaps the 12 coaches didn't vote in 2023? All we know from the 2023 data is that the lower the weighted number, the better. Based on your table from 2023, CC22👍👍 would have a first component number of 0.5 from the fans vote (position 1 x 50%), AB a first component number of 1 from the fans vote (position 2 x 50%) and AR a first component number of 2.5 from the fans vote (position 5 x 50%). As you say the fans' votes carry twice the weight of the the position voted by the media and and the position voted by the players which would be each 25%. I don't know why the W hasn't released all the data as it must be available to publish the outcome.

If I extend my list to top 20 fan selected All -stars. Mitchell 66,820 Mcbride 32,499. are included. My list ends at 20 Alisha gray and Brionna Jones are not on it.

The voting from the players shows me that it’s not a racial issue concerning CC because they didn’t vote for Reese ! They just don’t like any of the rookies, I think the coaches chose AR because they have a different perspective, I wish she had more fan votes so she could be a starter

Carrington is a great player but she’s not likable so I’m not surprised fans didn’t vote for her or she didn’t get enough votes. Like she is a great player but I don’t like her Arike was definitely one of my vote and Kelsey Mitchell I vote for her and I’m so happy she made it.

If its base on fans voting it will be, Clark, Martin, Boston, Mitchell, Reece and the rest. The four after Clark were voted by Clark fans as well, so Reece is 5th because Clark has more fans than her.

I’d say the media snubbed her out before the players did…and all of the media voted for Clark which land her in the top 10…they probably didn’t list it in voting order because Clark was probably number 10 and there would’ve been an outrage…or…even if she was number 2 it still would’ve been an outrage.

Oh I can read very well I think it’s you who doesn’t read very well because I clearly stated that AB & kM made the all star team last year without CC and by the way I actually have watched every single game I’m the one who said the reason they was 1-8 to start the season was because they were trying to run the offense through a 3 point shooter that’s why the offense was at a standstill because the defense was able to key in on CC because all she can do is shoot from the logo so they needed to run it through AB in order to get CC more open looks I also said KM is better at creating her own shots than CC because CC only relies on the 3 ball and layups I also given CC credit whenever she has deserved it I’m not like her fans I give it when it’s deserved but if you want to say CC is the reason they got voted in but I say they got voted in because fans actually watched the game and can See KM doing her thang without having any plays ran for her again the reason CC need plays ran for her is because she doesn’t have a midrange game that’s not me hating on her that’s me calling a spade a spade because I am watching the game and know exactly why she is getting about 12 shots a game while KM is getting 17-20 shots a game against Phoenix KM played 5min in the first half came out in the second half and lead the in scoring so again it tell me everything I need to know KM is the dawg on the team AB is the star and CC is the playmaker that’s more popular than her teammates I gave her credit against the Sky when she had 17 points 13 assists I gave her credit against the Storms for that double double I just her credit against Phoenix on Sunday even though she shot only 4/12 FG and again last night for the assist

I wasn’t surprised that the coaches picked Angel Reese because they really know the game of basketball. They aren’t focused on what’s flashy and what gives them a thrill to see. They’re focused on schemes, assignments and Xs and Os. They see how strong Reese’s fundamentals are in anticipating, positioning, boxing people out, covering her assignment on defense, etc. It’s a high compliment to Reese that she was put over the top by the coaches.

CC is not the best players but all the jealous haters could never even come close to getting 700,000 votes like her. Aja Wilson could never have even dreamed of maybe coming come to 150,000. Look what CC has done for her. Aja and Aliyah with 600,000 because of CC. What do you think of that Angel? Way to go CC.
