i refuse to believe that there are 90s/early 2000s kids, who had an interest in anime growing up, don't know what boku no pico is. That bs was the go-to recommendation when someone asked me and my friends for an anime to watch.
You can have "cute" characters but there's a certain kind of "cute" you should not be attracted to or work to create and if you are you need serious help...or worse.
I lived in Japan for two years when I was in the Marine Corps. I had never seen manga before because I grew up in rural Oklahoma and didn't have internet until I was in my twenties. Well, I was in Hiroshima walking around with a couple of buddies, and we ended up wandering into a manga shop. I remember it was five stories tall. The bottom floor was all non-explicit manga, and the comics got more and more explicit with each floor. The fourth floor was where I was introduced to tentacles and a ton of graphic imagery. I didn't really expect it to get any darker until I got to the top floor. I opened one comic book, saw some extremely vile lolicon involving babies, put the book down, and walked out. I haven't picked up manga since then, although I have been wanting to check out some One Punch Man. 😂

@@omegapotato8612 its fucking wild I cannot find the machine we used but this was 2007 it was a heavy fucking rack you had two levels of chicken about 2 feet wife by 2 and a half foot long something like that and carry it to the fryer. one fryer was for extra crispy and the strips the other was for original and the fish patty things. we had like a couple smaller fryers for chicken strips and popcorn chicken. But where I worked definitely no fryer with no lid like a pressure cooker. I think it was a franchiser so maybe they did it wrong. oddly enough tasted the same as KFC i got anywhere else.

Then you have Characters like Charmy from Black Clover whose character randomly changes to be smaller to reflect her emotions or nervousness. Shes adorable but never sexualized in the show whereas Goeshe has a borderline thing for his very very young sister though its never explicitly said.

Man, after seeing Leon: The Professional included in the "pedophilic-leaning" films I was really caught off guard, as I've adored the movie since I saw it as a kid. Obviously I've never seen the director's cut, nor seen it in years, but after doing some research, I'm appalled at how shitty of a person the director was and it's really tragic what happened to Natalie afterwards. I mean, I still feel the performances in the movie allow it to remain an enjoyable action movie; just very disappointing to find out that the director's true vision was so abhorrent. For anyone who is unaware: there was supposed to be a sex scene between Leon and Matilda in the original draft, the plot of the film was loosely inspired by the director's own relationship with an underage prostitute, and the majority of the creepy stuff was removed as a result of Jean Reno's insistence. (Wanna add that I also still haven't seen the movie in at least a good 7 or more years, so my memory of the actual scenes within the movie are lackluster, and that learning this info will absolutely change the way I watch this movie fundamentally whenever I see it again ofc).

3:40 The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya isn't a shoujo though. You could have said Ouran Highschool Host Club since you showed it's poster as an example of shoujo anime. Shoujo isn't just about romance in a school setting, it can have action and adventure like Yona of the Dawn and Banana Fish or supernatural drama like Fruits Basket and Natsume's Book of Friends.
Honestly I have learned to just expect people who aren't really into anime to be able to properly categorize series. Another moment where I was confused was when he mentioned the "dragonmaid team," people just don't understand that most anime based on manga have a single writer.
@@radonbox6569 Papa Meat is an animator, he knows about anime studios, he's not a silly billy. He meant the Dragon maid animation team/studio. As for the mangaka/author, yes, it's one guy that creates both the art and the story but what shows you're ignorant yourself, not him, is that mangaka have assistants, usually 3 to 5 but sometimes more, they usually help only with the art (maybe backgrounds and background characters or adding shadows etc) not with the story. As for the Dragon maid author I heard he did nsfw doujinshis before Dragon maid so that explains why the series has perverted things subtly/indirectly thrown in. When I heard that, I dropped the series. The anime is cute but if you look at the manga's art it's worse than the anime and it's not worth it anyway.

I'm pretty much a dragonmaid hater and I consider it to be one of the most disgusting truly popular anime. 2. I'm a huge Papa Meat fan and didn't mean to come across like he made some terrible mistake, I see how I may have sounded that way.
